We had recently moved into town and they were able to get us in quickly to have our senior dog seen. On our arrival the staff was very helpful and answered all our questions. We felt very comfortable bringing our dog there and would highly recommend!

The team at Southfork did amazing. I have a dog that is scared of new people and they were able to give him his checkup with no problems. I'll certainly be coming there for anything I need in the future!

Worst Vet Clinic I have ever been too. Instead of Dr. Schanck and her team looking into what was wrong with my dog they suggested I put her down. I spent thousands of dollars at this vet only to have to go to another vet to have another opinion. Found out my dog had fluid around her heart. Once we put her on the correct meds I have my dog back. Glad I didn't follow the advice of putting her down. I asked for some refund back because of how much money was spend and was told they wouldn't do that. Nothing but money hungry owners makes me sick to know you treat animals or don't treat them. I hope if you get sick you family just "puts you down" vs finding out what is wrong with you. My dog is my family and to have that even suggested is so wrong on so many levels.

***UPDATE*** When leaving my prior review it was a very emotionally charged time and situation we were going through. Southfork did contact me and we discussed my concerns at length. There were medical reasons for the decisions that were made and I felt better and more comfortable after the discussion. The owner Dr. Schanck offered to see Moki as well for her follow up to make sure of her care and ensure I felt confident and comfortable and all on the same page. She is wonderful and I'm grateful for their understanding and accommodations given my prior feelings. Therefore it's only right that I update my prior review. I have very mixed feelings about this place given my experience. First I will start with the positive: This facility is very accommodating to get your pet in to be seen at short notice when a significant issue presents itself. Th he staff is incredibly kind and compassionate and they take their time to answer all questions and in the examination. Here's where my concerns come in. I've taken 2 of my cats here in the past 2 years. One who was experiencing urination outside the litter which NEVER happened. He had blood work done and his proteins, etc were high. It was ruled as stress and possibly giving him some anxiety medication. However 4 months later he declined rapidly and lost function in his back legs. We were too late and had to put him down. After speaking with another vet it was sick speculated he was in renal failure and should have been caught to at least give us indication that he didn't have much time and so he didn't need to suffer. My 2nd cat was brought in after adopting with eye issues. I explained that the adoption place was treating for months. However was just given eye ointment. Then after a month she started having trouble breathing and I was able to get her in. Without doing any blood work etc they were just going to give her medicine for pnemonia but I wanted confirmed tests. An x-ray was taken and showed fluid outside her lungs. They tapped it and said it might be FIP but the fluid didn't seem like it. Therefore said it was pnemonia and gave her an antibiotic and sent her home with no follow up. Next day I took her to blue pearl in Eden prairie. They drained 100ml of fluid and diagnosed her with FIP. Had I waited she would have died. Therefore, I cannot in good conscious bring my pets back here and am searching for a new facility.

Dr. Schanck and her team are absolutely wonderful. She is so caring of our senior kitty! We have had positive experiences with all the doctors and staff for both our dog and cat. I highly recommend!

Our dog had been sick for over 24 hours, throwing up even just water, so we really wanted him seen the next day. Our regular vet was too busy to squeeze him in, so we looked up emergency vet services & found Southfork Animal Hospital (SAH). We were happy that they had urgent care services and were able to see our dog 3-4 hours later. The service they provided was awesome, where they called our original vet first to get our dog's records. The staff at SAH was super friendly and nice. The vet/doctor was easy going and explained her findings and recommendations very clearly. In the future, we are definitely considering returning to SAH for routine visits and not just urgent care visits. Big thanks to SAH!

We've been bringing our 9 year old male Cavalier to Southfork since April 2021 for a reoccurring eye issue. Three vets at Southfork have offered differing diagnosis but more or less came to conclusion that our dog has uveitis and ulceration of the cornea. Thought we had a solid solution along with repeated medications and not mention expensive visits (two urgent care visits). We get a referral (finally) to a reputable ophthalmologist vet in Minneapolis. In just 15 minutes he determined our dog doesn't have uveitis but rather he has Bell's Palsy in the left eye. So, after all that expense, time, and worry we come to find that three apparently trained and certified vets couldn't figure this out using standard diagnostic practices? His eyelid was not closing and a basic examination should include Bell's Palsy as one of the factors contributing to the eye issue. Very disappointing and the only reason we chose Southfork was based on positive reviews. For that reason I will no longer use their services. I was hopeful this time we could trust a vet in the Twin Cities and would rather drive back to our previous vet two hours away to get a solid quality service. Additional Comment - I see that "Five Star" comments get a response. And yet when its not a favorable review with legitimate concerns you get crickets.

The entire staff at Southfork has exceeded our expectations the past couple months. We are new patients and have a dog with some behavioral issues, and they have been so helpful and accommodating with our many phone calls, happy visits, and various appointments. They did everything they could to make our visits comfortable, and were so patient and kind when our dog wasn't cooperating. Thank you to the whole team and special shoutout to Jenna!

Started appointment on time. Vet tech and Vet took great care to establish a relationship with our dog and made him comfortable. They seemed to be able to anticipate our questions since our dog is new to us. They gave us great recommendations, follow-ups needed and explained the whys.

I was up for the weekend from Florida and really appreciated them getting my puppy in. I called another vet because she was having blood and mucus in her stool, but the other vet said they couldn’t see her because they were fully booked. Southfork Animal Hospital was able to get her in and the doctor was able to get my puppy treated. I wasn’t able to go in because of their COVID protocols, but they assured me she would be fine and she was. Thank you Southfork team.

Despite the restrictions required by covid-19, Lucy's care was excellent. After examining Lucy, the vet spoke to me over the phone and clearly explained how to take care of Lucy in her aging years. The vet was definitely sympathetic -- as have always been all the staff at Southfork. We started going there almost 20 years ago because they would treat our reptile, and we've brought all our pets there ever since!

Definitely would recommend - nice staff with caring, knowledgeable Vets. I've needed their services for my dog in most every scenario - wellness check-up, urgent care & end-of-life. Each visit the staff was attentive and understanding, and when there were questions or concerns, they have been good about getting back to me in a timely manner. After the passing of my sweet pup, the amount of support and ???? received from the staff & Veterinarian was overwhelming, unexpected & has meant the world. I'll be adding a new fur ball to the family soon & there is NO choice - Southfork Animal Hospital will be his Vet Clinic.
