This place isn't open!! They don't answer their phone nor have a message saying their not open. My dog is in critical condition and It's completely unacceptable they have a sign on their door saying closed. When you're in an emergency situation and drive all the way there to see a closed sign, it's unethical. No message on their answering machine and online says open. Don't waste your time. Unethical they should be ashamed!

If I could give this place a zero star I would. Worst place to bring a pet. Couldn’t care about your pet unless they are getting a huge paycheck. Claims to be an “emergency clinic” but nothing about this clinic is emergency. my dog was in an emergency state and they told us we had to wait 4-6 hours for him to even be seen. Ridiculous. Zero job passion or care.

We got in a 2 am for a emergency and we’re still waiting at 5:30 and then they just told us it would be another 2 hours until someone would see us

Before going to any BluePearl location, PLEASE understand they provide a specialty service at hours when other options are not available and they are so overwhelmed with the influx of patients and Covid (I called 40+ regular clinics for an appt and all were booked/not taking new patients - it's an industry issue). You will be having a long wait time but the staff are SO friendly and they obviously care a great deal about their patients - they have been my go-to in emergencies the past couple years. You'll also be paying a lot more - again, specialty service at unusual hours. No one wants their pet to be in a dire situation but that's par for the course when owning a pet (esp when you have a walking garbage can like my dog LOL). I've gone to BluePearl three times over the years and it has always been 2+ hours of a wait and checkup. I've always gotten the care and reassurance I was looking for when going. They are great at explaining things and letting you know what has happened to your pet (do not expect consistent updates, they are BUSY). They also make sure to let you know how much things will cost before they perform a task (ex. how much my xrays would cost). I gave 4 stars solely because of wait time - this time around when I brought my dog in due to a potential intestinal blockage, I was onsite for a total of 6 hours (other wait times have been around 3 and 5 hours). I checked in at 6pm, they brought my dog in to start xrays about an hour later. They explained getting xray scans back can take a few hours as all the clinics share the same specialist (appreciated that explanation). Waited another 4ish hours to get a call from the doc, and then within the next hour I was able to check out (they had to give her some fluids and antibiotics after my approval).  The lady that checked me out was super nice and gushed about how great my dog was with the techs <3.

Brought our old girl here tonight and I cannot express our families gratitude towards such a wonderful team. They tell you right on the phone how the waiting works so you know upfront, and I'd have waited all over again. Thank you!

We had to go here in a emergency for our beloved dog Stryker. Everything happen so fast.. They were our logic and kind hearted staff at such a hard time of decision making. It was the hardest thing we have had to do. They were so kind, gentle, loving and sincere offering over and over saying sorry. They helped Stryker be comfortable during his passing over the rainbow bridge. Thank you for being so kind during this difficult time. Also later sent us a beautiful card and poem. We also got his ashes and ceramic paw print. Highly recommend this staff that really loves animals and people.

Took my cat in because of a urinary blockage and were the fourth clinic I called who could take him after hours. (Vets are very busy these days!) Woman I spoke to on the phone was clear about time expectations and the need to wait in the parking lot until my cat was seen. Vet was able to get to my cat sooner than expected and communicated very clearly over the phone. Estimate cost for the care was hefty, but accurate and to be expected for emergency after hours veterinary care and the length of stay required. My cat had to stay over the weekend and every person I talked to at the clinic gave me great explanations of treatments, my cat's status, and timeline for pick up. My cat is doing better and had a follow-up with our regular vet who had no concerns about Blue Pearl's care. Thanks!

I would go 0 stars if I could. I understand that this is an emergency clinic but their prices should be reported as theft. $100 for 3 staples. $35 for a $5 cone of shame. $183 just to walk in the door and be looked at. And the attitudes of the employees here are atrocious. 0 customer service skills. I was double billed for my invoice last weekend which resulted in some financial difficulties and the person couldn't care less. No regard for the extra costs that I incurred because of their error. I will drive further distances to go to another clinic before I ever bring one of my pets to this place again. Whoever was working the front desk on the evening of Nov 13th should be fired or at least given some remedial training in customer service.

I went there at 5:30 for their 6 PM checkin. My dog was not critical but miserable. After eating for 4 hours, I went home as my dog was panting, shacking and running around the car in a panic that long (his entire back end was inflamed). I got a call after 9 hours which woke us up (he finally was sleeping). I was 10 minutes away but I did not wait 9 hours in the parking lot so I couldn't be seen. I left because I did not see them come out to get one animal or anybody go in the door with a pet the entire time. They should call with an update or say that it will be impossible to see them soon and to return like 5 hours later or something.

I took my 15 year old cat to the Golden Valley Blue Pearl location. First door was unlocked but the inner door was locked. I push the doorbell. I could not see a person inside. (I do have to add that I have been there before and always could see a receptionist.) I waited about a minute for someone to come to the door. A woman came to the door and was clearly irritated that I was there. She said , "why are you here?" Duh....I had my cat in a carrier and I was in a panic. I began to explain that my cat was in distress......didn't want to move, crying, etc. She said is he eating. Yes. Is he use the litter box. Yes, but......She interrupted and said than your cat is fine. I must have looked shocked because she said, we ask you to register by phone. I ask for the number and prepared to call to register. She comes to the door with two people behind her and as she opens the door for them she says........."I am sorry this woman is standing in the area. Hurry out the door.". Now, they are using a mask mandate, I am masked and so are they and I am standing more than 6 feet away from them....all the things that the CDC recommends---oh, and I am fully vaccinated. She then says it will be long wait...she then adds 5 hours. I decide to leave......She was rude, it was clear that I was only there because I CARE about my cat. And she had no compassion, AT ALL. NO compassion for my cat, let alone me. No offer to find another clinic for us to go to. NO offer of compassion. She is in the wrong job....the only reason any of us are there is because our pet is in distress.......we certainly are not there to waste time. I will not go there again. All the other times we have been there things were great. Not this time and when it comes to something like this. there are no second chances.

I took a feral cat from my work colony here on Sunday 10/3/21, they were ALL wonderful. She was at least 12 years old, if not older. We did end up euthanizing her, yet the techs and Doctor were great and I Thank them for their advice, help with my baby, she had been around since 2010, very sweet, beautiful cat. Thank you BluePearl!

The front desk staff were very warm and kind at the time of my visit, and that is the full extent of the positive things I have to say about the Golden Valley Blue Pearl. It’s also the only reason this is not a 1-star review. Our pet was injured and we were told on the phone that if he was bleeding (he was) that we would be immediately brought in and stabilized, but that we would have to wait to be properly seen by the vet. That was fine (and also the only option), so off we went. When we arrived, we called again (this is 20-25 minutes later) to say we had arrived and were told that we would need to wait 4-6 hours in the car with our bleeding pet. I told the person on the phone that we were told an actively bleeding pet would be brought in immediately to stabilize, and asked if I had been misinformed. The person’s response was “oh, ok then, if someone told you that then I’m sure that’s the case.” Uh… WHAT??? I’m sure I don’t have to explain further why that was a concerning response. Nevertheless, we were indeed brought in, and the wound was stabilized. Fast forward 4 blood-soaked hours, and we were sent home with a very questionable looking bandage that was meant to prevent re-injury. We aren’t vets, what do we know? If the vet says this is safe and effective, then it must be. The following morning, the area around the injury was warm and moist from condensation, and the skin surrounding it was black. The blackness was just bruising in all fairness, but between the blackness, the moisture, and the difficulty actually clearly seeing the injury due to the condensation, we called a different emergency vet and were referred to one specific clinic that had a vet on staff who was familiar with the bandaging technique used. That vet instructed us to bring our pet in as soon as possible - not a dire emergency, but the sooner the better. The vet informed us that she had used the technique in the past, but she made it clear that she stopped using it long ago. She also did not opt to reapply the same bandaging technique. She did not come right out and say that the BP vet’s decision was not one that any competent vet would make (I’m sure out of professional courtesy), but she went into enough detail about what could have happened if we had not brought our pet back in to remove that bandage, as well as the laundry list of reasons she did not use the same technique herself, that it was more than clear she had some strong opinions that couldn’t be spoken in a professional setting. Add this to other horror stories we’ve heard from friends that have relied on the Golden Valley BP, and we will not be back. I’d drive to an emergency vet in Chicago before I came back here. I’ve hear nothing but good things about other BP clinics, so I’m not sure what the story with this specific one is.

Have never been here, but just had a very positive experience over the phone talking with Lynn I believe. She was able to calm us down and told us things/symptoms to look for but assured us the chances were slim to none. She told us certain things to look for and which signs would be reasons for coming in. Thanks again and you will be kept in mind for emergencies in the future.

All I can say is Blue pearl took over I would never go again. In 2 days my vet bill was $6,000.00 and my dog passed the next day.

It's strange to me how they claim to prioritize more critical patients yet there is no precedent for triage. As I stand waiting in the parking lot as everyone else, I have not seen anyone come to check the status of the pet - they don't even call you back to have you check for yourself. My first expierience here was the same, a simple staple job was met with hostility and rush. As a veterinary proffessional who just left the field for greener pastures, and has worked the wild ride of emergency for a year and a half and GP prior to that; I had a close eye on their process and low standards for a blue pearl in general. They did not disappoint my lack of trust in their process. ( There isn't much of one ). I typically pride myself in practicing patience when it comes to healthcare as I know the national shortage of techs and the increase of pets with covid — but Blue Pearl pushed my patience the entire time. When I was finally brought inside without anyone even evaluating my pets vitals, an assistant kept misgendering and misnaming my pet despite correction. My dog was brought into the back. Nobody discussed pricing with me, no Doctor even talked to me. I waited three hours, my dog got brought in, I waited some more in room. An assistant brought her back, then brought her back up without even telling me she was getting staples. I did not sign any sort of form or waiver, nor did I verbally authorize cost. ( The issue I have is not with cost or paying, I expected the bill. This isn't my first rodeo.) It was gross. Had my dog been there dying and not just sporting a laceration — I would have been as terrified and clueless as she was. Now, when coming back for staple removal, there is still a lack of compassion for the people worrying for their animals. If I have any choice in the matter; I will never bring any pet to a blue pearl again.

My pup, Bob, had been vomiting for an hour and after chatting with poison control, they advised I bring him to ER to make sure he wasn’t dehydrated. Blue Pearl Golden Valley was so helpful and kind on the phone! They were honest about possible wait times but reassured me that they would get Bob in and taken care of. Bob got in right away, they kept me informed of his progress and expressed genuine love and compassion for my dog. They gave him the exact care he required and lots of extra love. The staff went above and beyond to let me know he was ok, loved and cared for. Thank you!!

If I could give zero stars I would. My dog was having a hard time breathing and I brought him there at 7:35 am. I called the number listed on the door since you can't go inside and was told that they couldn't see him because they closed in 8 minutes. They closed at 8 am. It was 7:35 am. Do the math on that... I told them I didn't care, my dog was dying and insisted they see him. They said they would take him inside and check his vitals. I waited in my car for 15 minutes until they brought him back out where the girl said they checked "her" vitals and "her" gums were pink and they said I should take "her" to the Arden Heights location. I said my dog is a male. And I am sorry if you couldn't tell the difference... I took him to another vet not connected to Blue Pearl and they did an x ray which showed his heart and lungs were so full of fluid his heart was almost not beating. If I would have waited longer he would have died. He has congestive heart failure but is now doing better on meds. Do not take your pet here. They can't add, tell the difference between a male or female, will lie directly to your face and have no compassion for animals what so ever.

Takes FOREVER. Brought doggo in for follow-up after a car accident. Arrived 45 min after they opened. Was asked to wait in the parking lot as he'd be seen soon. Called an hour later and was told it would be a while. Tried to get a time estimate but the vet tech wouldn't commit to anything. Went home because it was almost 9 at night, told to keep my phone available. Called.back at 10.30, told he was next in line. Drove back over. It's now 2am and I have yet to get a call from the vet (was told it would be 'a few min' at least 45 min ago). I get that this operates on a critical case model rather than first come first serve. But the lack of transparency around how long things will take, as well as asking me to essentially stay up all night just in case they might call, is frustrating. This location is clearly understaffed and it seems like they only have 1 vet with way too much to do.

Terribible place, told us one price billed another and refused to remove the overage. could not even fully treat the animal as they did not know how to handle a skittish animal said we could not come in due to covid. this was after cdc released control. NEVER GO HERE EVER!!!!

Brought our dog here for suspected UTI. They took a urine sample and said they couldn't tell if there was an infection without sending the sample out for culture. Brought their records to our regular vet and she read the counts and notes and determined the numbers clearly showed a "raging" UTI. Why could Blue Pearl not see that in the sample and tell us?

They were amazing! Compassionate, calm staff. Definitely talked me off the ledge after my pet's accident. There was a long wait, but that is absolutely to be expected when you're at an emergency clinic. They have excellent Triage and attend to those most "in need" of Emergency Medical attention. As much as it sucks sitting there - worrying about your furbaby, it was EXACTLY like a human ER or Urget Care. SO incredibly GRATEFUL for their services.

Blue Pearl was so helpful and kind. They were quick to provide updates and were transparent about costs and prioritization of other emergencies that needed immediate attention. Everyone I spoke with was patient and kind as they provided timely updates. Thank you all!!

After sitting in the parking lot for six and a half hours because they will not allow you to leave, or you get dropped to the bottom of the waiting list, I was let into the office and sat in the waiting room for 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours. All that to be charged $400 for a stool sample slide, 6 pills and to be told that my dog had an irritated bowel. I knew she was distressing from her GI, that's why I brought her to the ER. The people were nice enough, but this was a assembly line business , there's no question about that. My advice for you is that if your pet has an acute emergency do not, I repeat, do not bring them here. They will die. Don't believe me? Do the math again.

"15 minutes for triage" actually means they're going to ignore your pet until the next day. No communication whatsoever.

Sadly, we had to use the services at BluePearl to put our 18 year sick kitty to sleep during non-business hours. The staff at the clinic were so kind, empathetic, thoughtful and very professional. We were hoping to have a peaceful transition during a scheduled appointment with out vet but our kitty had other plans and we did not want to watch her suffer until her clinic opened. This was a great option and I think she received excellent, humane care at BluePearl, Golden Valley.

The wait was long, but exactly what reception told me it would be. I appreciated how much time they spent with me on the phone when I called to figure out whether I should come in immediately (on 4th of July) or wait for my regular vet - they took the time to really listen to me AND answer my questions about wait time, Urgency, etc. it’s not cheap, but I believe we received great care and transparent communication about how long we would wait and how that would be impacted by critical cases coming in. Thank you for taking care of my pup on a stressful day!
