I have been very happy with the care our dogs have received at this clinic. The veterinarians and staff are highly skilled, great with animals and people. We've had all ages and stages of life treated at this office and highly recommend them. Hope you'll give them a try.

There is a "best" in every field. In small animal veterinary medicine the best is Fran Smith.

Dr. Anderson recently cropped my dobermans ears and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. She was very responsive and answered all my questions through the process. My girl healed very nicely after the surgery, and is looking great after her first posting!

Dr. Smith and her whole team are AMAZING!!!! I’ve had my doggie for 10 years, and after meeting with Dr. Smith, she taught me cool ideas that I never knew about! She provides top of the line expertise, and she has been extremely fair with us when it comes to costs of service. She is super smart and explains things very well!!!! I wish we had found her when our dog was a puppy!!!

Smith Veterinary Hospital has amazing staff and they take amazing care of your furbabies. We come from Rochester to get care here. High quality staff and services. We had our miniature schnauzers' ears cropped here, and we are so pleased with the care and results!

My Tibetan Terrier has been seeing Dr. Smith since she was a puppy eight years ago. At that time, she recommended a trainer I decided not to use because of her punishing dog training style. I believe pets do better with positive reinforcement. In retrospect, I am beginning to think Dr. Smith treated me and my pup with the same negative attitude. In January, I was worried that my pup was always fatigued. She was also drinking lots of water. At that time, I took her in and they did some testing but didn’t recommend continued monitoring. I assumed she was just responding to the pandemic like all of us had been doing for a year. However, a couple of months ago, she started having accidents, vomiting, and rejecting her food. So I took her to Dr. Smith’s office and they took some tests and said her kidney values were high. (No clear communication, but I was getting the message that her kidneys were failing.) They recommended keeping her overnight for fluid infusions in the pm and am. This began more testing. After bringing her back and forth to Burnsville, Dr. Smith yelled at me over the phone and in person when I simply inquired about whether my dog had an infection. During our last visit there, they took a urine sample to determine the best diet for her and Dr. Smith came out to the main lobby holding up a vial of her urine. “See, it’s clear!” She yelled at me. I’m not a vet. Just a worried pet mom. I was not questioning her skills. But I must admit she was never good at communicating with me and she treated Both of us with a negative attitude. I know vets are busy right now with all the pandemic puppies. However, this time, after paying well over $1000 in fees for a few days of this treatment, I decided to switch vets. I don’t need to pay for this abuse when my dog is well, but absolutely refuse to pay for this when I have a very sick doggy. After more testing to determine what is causing the kidney disease and a visit to blue pearl ER in Eden prairie, she has been diagnosed with protein-losing nephropathy and elevated renal (kidney) values. No underlying disease indicated from all the testing. I'm not sure what happened. She's been such a healthy dog until lately. I wish we would have caught it earlier. She’s on some meds and a prescription food for kidney disease. My pup is finally getting the care she needed back in January. However, her kidney disease will not be reversed.

We have been coming to Smith Vet Hospital for over 15 years… for dogs and our kitty. We love it and could not imagine going anywhere else. We moved to Minneapolis and still make the drive to Burnsville. Dr. Fran is the best!

Brought my dog in to get his ears taped. I call before and the girl at the front desk said it would only be $21. I saw the Vet an she only showed me how to taped my dogs ears myself with some old stuff she had there. Very disappointed!! My total came to $69. For some poor service.

After months of trying to figure out poop issues with our pup, Dr. Smith's recommendations made a world of difference!

I love Dr. Smith. She is an extremely knowledgeable vet with kind and caring professionals. We had an amazing experience with Dr. Smith. This was our first litter of puppies and she was so helpful with getting our dog pregnant, care and feeding of her and the puppies; and being available for questions at anytime.

I love Smith Vet! I regularly see Dr. Anderson and Dr. Smith for my 3 Irish Water Spaniels. My one boy is reactive and they have gone out of their way to work with him and not make his visits more stressful. The vets are honest and won’t tell you what you want to hear, but they will tell you what you need to hear. I appreciate their frankness and that I always feel like they have my dogs’ best interests in mind.

Dr Smith has no manners and is completely rude. Her voice is so loud it hurts your ears in the room. Dirty floors, dropped calls, rude doctors. The desk ladies are nice but the dr smith is the worst. We have been unhappy for a bit, but never really got the push to dump her but we sure did today! Never will bring my pets there again. I recommend you Keep looking as well.

I wish I would have read the reviews on Dr. Smith before I drove out there. We made an appt last week to have our Cane Corso puppy's ears cropped. She knew the age of our puppy last week was 12 weeks old and still made the appt. The earliest she could get us in was yesterday. She walks in the room, yells "the dog is too old! She's 13 weeks and 3 days". We are well aware of our dogs age. She is rude and loud, and incompetent.

Amazing experience. We brought our Samoyed in for hip XRays for OFA certification, and were impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and friendliness of Frances and her team! Their ability to get really clean XRays/images is top notch. Overall, I have to commend them on their communication with their clients. Highly recommend!

NO NO NO NEVER trust your pets or your heart to this old hag .She has had her last chance to be kind nope she failed EPIC fail. She is rude, load dismissive and lacks empathy any one that meets her knows this . She might as well close now cause she should not be in business.
