DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! My daughter, a college student, took her dog to the Troy location for dental cleaning. They quoted her $450 for the cleaning, and said extractions could be “extra”. Once they had him under anesthetic they called to let her know he needed 2 teeth extracted ( I even question if that was the truth), and gave her the new total - $1666. So what is she supposed to do at this point? They already have him sedated and he is 10 years old, so she doesn’t want to tell them no and have to have him anesthetized again. She chooses to pay them the money ( she doesn’t have) for the well being of her much loved dog. These complete scam artists knew exactly what they were doing. I mean seriously, $600 per extraction??? I’ve had dogs my whole life, I’ve been through many dental cleanings, and never have I paid so much. These people took total advantage of my daughter. Don’t be surprised if the local news stations take a look into your business practices soon!

We take all of our pets here and all have a wellness plan. They have a great staff and are always available on the app to chat or when you call the office. They are great with my high anxiety dog.

Appointment at 2:15 for a basic health certification. Doesn't mean a vet would be available. Didn't get done until after 6:15. Receptionist was surly when asked for status. I'd never go back.

Our pet never actually got to visit this particular Banfield location; however, we have had the pleasure of talking with Taylor at this location. Despite our own frustrations with the passing of our cat, Taylor was absolutely wonderful to us over the phone. She was kind, patient and very caring. Our pet profile was transferred there because he was supposed to be seen at this location for the first time yesterday, but the appointment was canceled through the app on Saturday, which failed to relay back into the system. There were a lot of issues and unanswered concerns/questions regarding the previous location we had seen, which she helped us through. I do hope Taylor knows how wonderful she is at her job. We may not have been able to show how appreciative we were over the phone, but we do thank her for her patience and understanding in this hard time. Taylor took the time to go over our past history, explain previous events over the course of the past few years and help us get the answers we needed, even though their location never saw our pet and she did not need to do it. Thank you, Taylor! We do apologize if we made you feel any less appreciated than you deserved. You are a wonderful individual.

I recently moved out of state and needed a copy of my dogs medical records. I called 4 days in a row to get them emailed to me and every time I called after the first, I expressed that I had previously asked for them and that they were needed urgently so that I could set up an appointment. ..they never sent them. It took me going 50% Karen on them in order for me to finally get them...

Really poor overall customer experience. I called and made an appointment for my cat for 12:45, and was told it was a drop off appointment due to staff covid concerns. Although I had plans later in the afternoon, this time worked fine. I got to the clinic, called, and was on hold for a very long time. My cat didn’t get taken back into the clinic until 1:10, and I was told to leave and come back because it would be “a few hours”. No one told me “a few hours” when I booked, so it was quite the shock. I called at the 2 hour mark (2:45) to check on where my cat was in the lineup, and said I needed to be somewhere at 3:45 so had to pick him up by 3. Remember, it’s already been 2 hours. He was not anywhere close to being seen, and after telling the woman at the desk I needed to be somewhere, she said “then you need to reschedule” I told her no, I wouldn’t have scheduled if I knew this up front and I wouldn’t be traumatizing my cat by bringing him back again. I told her this was affecting my entire family’s day and hoped they would knock some cost off the visit. She said “yep.” And hung up on me without anything else. I picked my cat up at 3:15. His appointment was 12:45. Here is some wisdom on how to fix this experience: don’t overbook appointments, don’t call it a 12:45 appointment when it really is a 1-3:15. appointment. Call it what it is - an appointment range. Get front desk workers who do not hang up on patrons and are understanding of people’s situations, especially when it is their own negligence in explaining the process that leads to someone’s day being ruined. Oh, and nothing was knocked off the appointment cost. So she said something would be, hung up on me, then never gave a discount. This could all have been avoided if I was told upfront while scheduling what the processes was, not just told “it’s a drop off appointment”. Because it wasn’t.

It's a long process just to get a health certificate. I consider I needed to do all the job to get all records sent to them, and many calls and hours of waiting for your dog to be picked up. I will plan ahead on scheduling my current dog's vet on time for future needs

This is the most unprofessional vet I’ve been to over the years. Avoid at all costs. Your pet will thank you.

We use to go to Banfield on Adams Rd, that place was great. This place however is a mess, the’ve missed scheduled our appt every time we’ve went, it takes forever to check in, the staffs attitude seems like they don’t care. I may switch to the Rochester location.

My dog sat in a kennel all day by herself on her last day of life. When I came to get her, I had to wait well over an hour before I was given my dog back. When I asked simple general questions no one could answer me without speaking to the vet (who wasn't available). My sweet puppy was noticeably struggling to breathe. I even went back inside after getting in my car to leave bc I realized how much my dog was still wheezing. (Why I brought her in the first place). I was told just go home the meds should kick in after a day or two! They did not administer any meds to my sweet puppy while she was weak and in pain. I took her to potty before leaving and she couldn't even walk a few steps. I took her home and unfortunately she stopped breathing and passed away that night. You would think if a dog had something that serious going on the vet could at least give me a heads up. I was basically told they dont know whats wrong, could be a number of things, take these steriods, and goodbye.

We had an appointment and we got their by 2:30pm. My husband went inside and waited for more than an hour. It’s already 3:30pm and NOONE even checked on him. Told him to just leave then someone came to our car and said someone can see our dog now. We came back and he was told to wait and promise that someone will be there. It’s 4:30 and still nobody showed up. Totally wasted our whole afternoon.

Every bad review is accurate. The vet was nice but the rest of the staff is a bunch of rude air heads that cant remember the simplest things. I miss the gross point location.

After arriving on time, calling in, I was put on hold for over 20 minutes. After, I was given questions that are already answered in my dogs file. My dog is an emotional support dog for my anxiety. I asked if they could allow me to be in with her for her ear infection apt. They told me no, I asked to speak to the supervisor. After the supervisor picked up, there was a noticeable echo and I could not hear her. I asked to take me off speaker which she just confirmed that she was on speaker alone in the room. I again asked her to take it off because I could barely hear her. She refused. I asked if I could go in with her due to my anxiety, and the past experiences with Banfield taking my dog for 8+ hours at a time for general check ups. She told me no, even though the app confirmed it was an in room apt. I asked if this can take only a few hours then since it's just an ear test, and she told me no, it would be 6+ hours. My dog is my life. She is an emotional support animal, and other Banfield's have been extremely accommodating. At this one, the staff was rude, unknowledgable, uninformed, and horrible to work with. I have dropped my dog off at another Banfield and feel much safer of what she's walking into. If the staff explained what exactly would happen to her in the clinic, I would have been much more comfortable. I never want my dog in a cage again after traumatizing experiences with my dog in crates. They cannot even be flexible when I have a mask, my vaccine card, and there would be one other in the room. I will never be at this location again, and I suggest you should find another vet that actually cares about your pet like they're supposed to.

I’m done using Banfield ! After calling banfield about bringing in my dog for a laceration he received, I was hung up on twice and had to use a different number to call them because they wouldn’t pick up on my original number. So this brings me to the service I received when I eventually got someone to agree to see him, even though I have banfield insurance. After some time I was told I had to take him elsewhere as they were not comfortable dealing with the wound and “didn’t have the expertise” Now this is where I really have my issue. No one could tell me anything about the wound what it looked like, how deep etc etc. After leaving banfield I went to another veterinarian clinic (NOT an emergency clinic) where they shaved, cleaned and stitched and also inserted a drain tube. My dog is now doing well and recovering no thanks to banfield. I’m absolutely appalled at the service at banfield, I will be canceling the insurance and I will never go back or recommend banfield to anyone. In my opinion total amateurs in animal care.

It was totally embarrassing. I wish I could say something happened but it didn’t. My old dog died via their hands. I have accepted that even tho there were things I disagreed with. Now they wanna blame a trainer I used 2 months ago. Regardless, I asked to speak to my dogs spay surgeon (dr Hatfield. ). And they refused. Finally I said hey, you have refused me before the surgery and you’re refusing me now, either dr Hatfield speaks to me about my dog or I’m leaving the vet and she said no problem leave. Just my 2 cents. I think it’s embarrassing on their part and specifically unnecessary but I’m not going to stick around for that.

I want to start by saying we have been Banfield customers for 3 years now. We were previously at the Banfield Ann Arbor location where we had great relationships with the vets, and the staff was very friendly and the office ran efficiently. My partner and I are very sympathetic and understanding to the reality of the times -- COVID, places being short staffed, operating under different circumstances, etc. However our experience at Banfield of Troy has been so totally disappointing, even considering the current factors at play. To start, we had an appointment a month ago where we literally sat in our car for an HOUR waiting for them to let us in. You have to call to check in over the phone -- Our appt was at 1:30. We called at 1:15 saying we were there. We were on hold for THIRTY minutes. Mind you we could see the entire front office, nothing was going on, no one was coming in or out. We sat in the hot car with our two dogs who were getting increasingly anxious, only for them to be let in at 2:30, when our appointment was at 1:30. After that, the vet called and said both of our dogs were obese (they're literally not). We have 2 min pins who are larger for their breed-They each weigh 13 lbs and are pure muscle. The standard min pin weight is 7lbs when they are little teacups. I felt very upset that the vet didn't consider for a second that our min pins are of the larger variation for their breed (barrel chest, longer legs) and proceeded to tell us we needed to put our dogs on a strict diet, weight shaming them into oblivion without realizing they're literally all muscle... We went back today for our booster shot appointment, which again, waited forever in the car when no other clients were in the waiting room. Then, when we brought our dogs in, the vet tech put the leash around our dogs neck (who was clearly afraid) and started dragging her so hard to the point our dogs neck literally looked like it was going to disconnect from it's head. What kind of vet staff doesn't look to make sure the dog is following them, let alone feel resistance on the leash and go hmmm maybe I shouldn't tug this dog's neck so hard they're choking and coughing. We had to pick our dog up and walk her back to the exam room ourselves. Needless to say that will be our last appointment EVER at Banfield of Troy. DO NOT go here if you value your time and your pet's dignity and respect. This was so utterly disappointing.

I was disappointed with my puppy's last visit there. They made an appointment a week ahead and ended up holding my pup for 2.5 hours for a basic skin exam. I don't know if they were short staffed or what was going on that day (they were late with other pets) but I will not take my puppy there again after this experience. Also the tech kept trying to convince me that the heartworm medication is not good enough for my pet as it was not the one they sell over there. All in all it was a bad experience and will go to another Banfield hospital from now.

We have a new puppy, and they refuse to let us go in him when we have an appointment. Call to talk a manager named Jesse a week ago, never returned my call. Hopefully his appointment goes better

Absolutely abominable care and poor costomer service. My mom and I called several times about my sister's dog and the people on the phone were very rude. We asked to speak to a vet because the dog was peeing blood and mucus, but never got a call back. At one point we were given an email to send videos in, but when we called to confirm that the email had been received we were told that no such email existed. When I asked if they could recommend an emergency vet (since they didnt have any available appointments until the next week and the dog was only peeing blood at this point), the person on the phone refused to recommend any.
