The Clipper Dog Grooming Traverse City, Michigan

I am so disappointed in the service I received when I brought my dogs here. They said "either we shave them or you take them home." stating there was no other option. They claim they were too matted however every other groomer I have been to has had no problem giving them a trim. This place always says shaving is the only option. I would in no way say that they were matted. Both of my dogs needed a simple trim and nail cutting and they are not very big. So, not only did I have to go there 6 hours later to check on my dogs because I had not heard a word from them but when I arrived they were still not done. I could see/hear one yipping and crying like he was being hurt and the lady (who I have never seen there before) just kept yelling at him. At one point she cut him and she just said "well it's your own fault if you would just sit still!". My dog was traumatized and bleeding. My dogs aren't perfect but if you're going to be in this industry you need to know dogs won't always sit perfectly still, especially if you're hurting them. I was appalled to see my dogs being treated this poorly and this was happening while I was there. It makes me wonder what's happening when I'm not around. I will not be going back and I would suggest you think twice before scheduling an appointment.

I wish I had been aware of how affordable and easy to book The Clipper was. My Old English Sheepdog has never looked better. I had been using a different big box store for grooming and found it very difficult to get an appointment and the prices were high. My dog would shake and acted terrified to go in, and as she got older, I thought the stress was not good for her. Coming in to The Clipper my dog was curious and relaxed. She came out so happy and looks wonderful. When they told me the price, my jaw dropped. I had expected it to be double the price! I am so happy to have a groomer for my senior dog that makes her comfortable and looking young and beautiful!

I am new to the clipper and was super excited how quickly they were able to get us in. Our son's groomer Julie is so funny and you can tell she enjoys her job! All the ladies are lovely! Would recommend you give a try!

Just picked up my dog from Clippers. After instructing them to trim an inch from her long fur, she came back with fur shaved down to the skin. The cuts are choppy and uneven and there are tufts of long fur left behind. Yes, they are affordable, but I would not recommend going here if you care about how your dog looks. I would give it less than 1 star if possible.

This place is a gem ???? in the heart of Traverse City! The friendly attentive staff were able to take my German Wirehaired Pointer Eva in 1 without an appointment and they gave her a nice bath and trimmed her nails and watched her while the wife and I shopped and ate lunch. The staff is very experience with all dog breeds and know how to treat them right. Their love for our furry companions shows and they take pride in their work, deservingly so. I highly recommend these wonderful people who made both Eva's and our day special.

I took my puppy to Clipper Dog Grooming and couldn’t believe how my puppy looked when we picked her up. They chopped her fur off and some parts were close to the skin and other areas were not. Her tail looked like a rat’s tail because of the trim she got. It looked like something chewed it off. By her behind, she was shaved so close that it looks like it hurts. I spent $50.00 and can’t believe how she looks. I don’t know how they shave the other dogs. Very disappointed customer.

I called one day to check prices on getting my baby's nails clipped. They are the most affordable in town! Very friendly and quick service! My Liberty didn't freak out for her first time at a groomers and she was offered many treats for her good behavior! We will definitely be going back as regular customers!

I took my dachshund here for a nail clipping and they were GREAT. Don’t let other bad reviews fool you. I held my dog while they cut and I was in&out.

My family and I were waiting in the hallway for the donut shop per their request, along the wall with our masks on when the worker-an older shorter woman came out yelling at us that we needed to move that we needed to social distance. When we apologized stating that we were together and moved out of the way for the gentleman leaving she stated that he was mad at us for being in his way. No one had politely asked us to move or said that he was trying to leave. The woman argued with us and went back inside the establishment and still continued to talk about my family and I, stating that we needed to wait and order outside and follow the law. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

Elderly family member needed their dog bathed. The Clipper got her in with short notice, cleaned her up, and even told us they would catch up to us to settle the bill.

Very kind and considerate with our little girl! Walk in taken care of immediately.

Best grooming place in town

We’ve been taking our dogs here for years! They are great with all sizes and types of dogs! They always put them in cute little bandanas cute when they are done. They’ll call you when they are done so you can leave/go shopping on front street instead of just waiting around.

Nice people, they do a great job for a very reasonable price.

The salon was great and got us in last minute as we were visiting from out of town. They freshened up our pooch after a day at the lake, gave her a trim, and made her nails and paws perfect! Also very affordable.

Just happened to be next door picking up some delicious donuts and we noticed the dog groomer next door. Our dog was badly in need of a wash and cut. The owner graciously agreed to squeeze him in at the last minute and we left him in her capable hands. She did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend The Clipper.

We are visiting by boat and found this groomer on line for our older Westie; the shop was able to work us in quickly and the cut is awesome. “Archie” was in and out in less than two hours total.
