Dr. J and his staff are the best! I would not take my pets anywhere else - he has taken care of all of my pets for almost 20 years and I trust him and appreciate the affordability

On the recommendation of a friend I tried this clinic. First they screwed up the appointment time saying “10:45 tomorrow”, my daughter had to take our very sick kitty in the next day because I had to work. She arrived on time, only for them to say she was on the wrong day. It would be the next day. Very disappointed to have to crate up our poor cat for another car ride the next day. On the next day my daughter and cat had to sit in the waiting area with unleashed dogs running around, coming up to the cat’s carrier, getting our very sick kitty traumatized. By the time they made it to the exam room the cat was beyond stressed. The vet was not a good listener and dismissed everything my daughter was trying to say. The doctor is a money hungry pig that has zero empathy and refused to treat my declawed cat because the vet was afraid of a little hissing. Stay away from this clinic. Very unprofessional.

I am literally in tears as I write this review... I have never in my life had a vet treat my dog and I so poorly. The doctor and the assistant treated my dog as if she was so viscous that she needed to be put down which was not the case. The doctor and the assistant walked in with a negative attitude and a muzzle for my dog without even asking me, I explained to them that they need to let my dog get comfortable with them so that she wouldn't be anxious around them but they said "not a chance, she looks like she's ready to bite us," which was not true. My dog had a hard experience at a different vet where they stapled up a wound on her without anesthesia and she's been scared ever since. I explained this to the receptionist who was the only one that seemed to care at all at this facility. This vet did not give my dog the time of day and didn't even bother to see what was wrong with her. I will never be taking any of my dogs to this vet again. It was a very traumatic experience for me.

first the told me the wrong date for the appointment so i had to come in twice, then refused to do any work or even LOOK at the cat unless i get a small cage to gas him in. told me he could not fit me in for a “long while” because hes busy and ALL vets in the area are “too busy too”. my cat is scared and very sick and didnt want to be scruffed and yanked out of the cage. i offered to take the cage apart but he said no. i could have restrained the cat for blood work but he refused. the staff is unhelpful and doctor didnt listen to anything i said and refused to work on my cat at all. my cat is declawed (from previous owner) and has rounded geriatric teeth. he cant bite bit hasnt broken skin. i would take the “bites” to get him healthcare and the doctor refused. everything in the office is dated to the 70s, and i didnt even see any computers. find ANY OTHER VET.

If we could give them a zero star we would. We called earlier in the day to have our new puppy have her rabies vaccine due to her groomers appointment coming up and her primary vet being book the next two weeks. They said they could fit up in that evening which WAS perfect. We let them know she was 8 weeks old and we were not looking for them to become the primary groomer. We arrive at her appointment under my boyfriends name and they take her in. A half he later they bring the puppy back out and charge me with a first examination bill, let us know she can’t have the vaccine due to her age (which they said they would do over the phone) and to bring her back in a few weeks for her second appointment ( which we let them know we were not looking to have them as the primary vet prior). They did not give us any information on the condition of our puppy, and charged us for an examination we did not ask for. All they are looking for is any way to take money from pet parents. We would never recommend this vet.

Doctor J. and his team go out of their way to take good care of your pet. I appreciate this doctor because he is honest, and quite fair he don't B.S. around. From making the appointment to checking out the team has your back. Our dogs don't stress going there which says alot to, they say 5 woofs up to the gang at North Suburban. ????????

I would have given a 5 star review but one person has ruined that. I don't know her name but she is the Drs ex wife. She is a horrible person. She lacks customer skills. I watched her yank a dog out to the car and she called him a mother f$&@er very loudly in front of everyone. She is rude and an embarrassment for this office. I have no idea how someone like her is even working with animals and the public. We also called to find out the time of our appointment because no message was left with the reminder call. She yelled at my son and told him he got a message. She kept repeating that several times instead of just telling him the time. I did say something to her the day I took my dog in. I also said something to the person who brought my dog out. Her reply was they have had several complaints about her and she will say something to the Dr but since she is his ex wife nothing most likely will be done. I would not trust he with my animals. She is the groomer! Since when does this kind of behavior become allowed. If I or anyone behaved this way on our job we would be fired. I know I would fire someone who behaved the way she does. Come Dr J ex wife is that for a reason. Why would you want someone like her working for you!!!!

I highly highly reccomend this veterinary clinic. With Covid, vet offices are only seeing your your babies curbside. Dr Jaxtheimer took the time to call me back at 7:00 pm and spoke for 30 minutes about our options for Bo's accute onset of allergies. What a genuine man. Wasn't about money. Was all about what I can do without spending a fortune. Gave me great suggestions for a diet and he is going to research more. I am so ever grateful for his kindness.

Dr J is awesome. He's always looked out for our dogs. Especially our boy Lennon, who he help through his multi-year battle with lymphoma. Very knowledgeable and never suggests heavy handed approaches. He's got one of my favorite deadpan and dry senses of humor on any human being. His staff is super friendly and dedicated. Take your pets here.
