Cannot recommend as the practice is not run with a pet or patient-first approach. We were recommended expensive Hills diet food ($75 for 24 count, 5 ounce cans) when small amount of Metamucil did the same thing. The pharmacy is not part of the practice and the office cannot answer questions related to costs, shipping, or availability. It is almost impossible to reach the pharmacy by phone as hold times are extreme. Communication from the vets themselves is poor, as noted in other comments. There is no attempt to schedule time to discuss issues, instead there will be a large number of missed calls and callbacks after 8pm. The vet recommended a teeth cleaning but our cat barely made it through the procedure and when questioned about what happened, we were told the cat must have had a (secret) feline herpes infection and there was nothing they could do. We needed a lot of help after the procedure and communication fell to zero. It does appear that since they could not make any more money from us, they simply stopped responding. Last question I asked was why they recommended something that was so risky and I got no response other than feline herpes is common (if that's true, then why don't they approach it as common and make the appropriate recommendations?) Signs that the business is doing poorly include the elimination of nail trimming as they are not making enough per hour and the vet is doing the procedure versus a tech. They also recommended an MRI from someone who could only see patients (pets) in Lansing. When asked if there were others available to do an MRI locally, they told us they didn't know. Have come to find out that the relationship is referral based so obviously if they recommend someone down the street from me, they do not get a cut. Before you spend any dollar amount here, ask a lot of questions that start with, "what if...?". Remember they will recommend the most expensive options first, as they have clear established profit workflows for every case that comes through the door.

Love this place they all are so friendly to my fur babies , love Dr Hunt and Dr Hermann keep up the great work .

I've been bringing my dog to this clinic for about 13 years now. I've always felt more like a friend than just a client with money. I was a little skeptical when Walled Lake Animal Clinic bought it after my vet retired. Front staff are still the same, and they are amazing. My dog is 14.5 years old, and he's been going since 2008. The two new women are wonderful. We've been going back and forth a bit about a spot on my dog's shoulder. He seems great and is still my silly little monster. Their prices might be a bit higher than other offices around, but with their gentle, caring nature and their love for animals, I'm willing to spend the extra money. Plus, they're really in depth with you about your animal They make sure you understand everything going on before you leave. I pass several offices on my way here, but that rough hour drive is so worth it.

I have been taking Tinkerbell here for years and they have always been great! Dr. Herman is amazing and got right down on the floor with my furbaby! They are so nice and gentle and kept her at ease while she got her vaccinations :)

Great doctors but very poor communication with pet owners and constant mishaps and problems with their online pharmacy (Covetrus). They never keep me informed when my dog is due for annual vaccines. Folks who answer the phone give different info for the same questions. Their online pharmacy constantly cancels my prescriptions for no reason, never responds to my emails, phone ways goes to voice mail. Very frustrating and unprofessional. Looking for a new vet.

We just had out first visit and absolutely loved them! Dr. Hermann got right on the floor to check on our big ol' pup (4 months old) and was very sweet, playful, and understanding as he was a bit rambunctious at first. The place was clean, friendly, and they encourage friendly visits to just stop in and say 'Hi' - just make sure to give a quick call first to ensure there aren't any non-dog friendly animals in there! We're really happy to be taking our dogs here, now, and look forward to our future visits...

Dr. Hermann did an excellent job with both of my cats. Took the time to understand the issue and explain the treatment to me. I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking for vet.

We recently got a puppy and chose this place to take her. The vet was very attentive to our pet and answered all questions that we had. We have two other pets that we will definitely be taking them here as well.

I recently started coming here. After my old vet refused to see my 14 year old golden retriever. We had been going there for 25 years. My golden became ill and was vomiting blood. The old vet told me to take a photo and send it to them! I called South Lyon Animal Clinic and they took me right in! We found out my golden was sick with pancreatitis. I will forever be grateful for that. Needless to say this is my new vet!

We had a huge negative experience with our dog's previous vet's office. On his 1st visit with your office we discovered just how poorly his previous vet's office performed. I think Bentley is now getting the proper treatment. Thank you SO much!! Glenn Drazic

Great but an Expensive visit

Called to schedule a bunny neuter and the person answering the phone says the bunny needs a physical since it was his first visit and that there will be No Charge. Took bunny to see doctor for physical which was not so great- doctor didn’t check ears or teeth, and didn’t cut nails. Also technician was in shock when she saw my bunny, was afraid of this 3 pound holland lop, asked another staff how to hold a bunny, wouldn’t weigh him, brought two scales which were both wrong, told doctor he was 10 weeks old and didn’t know his name. When I checked out no one could explain why I was told free and they didn’t know how much to charge me. So I paid 54.00! I received the estimate for the upcoming surgery through email and they still had the bunnies age at 10 weeks. Bunnies can’t get neutered at 10 weeks. Any who I trust the doctor but not leaving my bunny in the other staffs hands after his surgery. Will never go back. Glad I know their incompetence now before my bun bun goes under.

My wife Chis and I would like to sincerely thank the doctors and staff for your compassion during the toughest time of all pets owner... having to put their 4 legged friends to sleep. This hardest decision ever was made easier by the kind and caring words of Cloie's doctor. We also wish to thank all the kind words received in the form of a card from all the staff at South Lyon Animal Clinic, you are all truly wonderful. Came here on an emergency they were great fast and efficient. They didn't do a bunch of unnecessary x-rays or test unlike another vet I've visited on emergency basis. They were so amazing I actually switched to be my main vet. Highly recommended

Love it!! All staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great care and concern for your animals wellbeing. Help without over medicating/diagnosing. Switched from another local vet to here. Love it!! Easy to schedule appointments and are willing to squeeze you in if need be

The doctor took her time and explained everything to us in great detail. We just transferred over to south lyon animal clinic and I am so happy qoth our choose.

Used to be my choice to trust my fur babies with. I have an eldry dog whom is on medicine so she can walk to use the bathroom. The lady at the desk very unhelpful very rude. Accused me of being rude because I am a bit upset my dog has been out and they said they would call her script in and still no meds for the suffering dog. I am a GM in retail and i understand when people are having a bad day and they feel i failed at my job they become irritated. I feel the vet failedy dog. Consideration for missing meds for a pet that needs them should be had. Will be seeking a vet clinic whom cares for the dogs and knows how to properly address the owners.

Very nice helpful and took care of my golden

South Lyon Animal Clinic has always been so helpful and you can tell they really care for animals, and the people that love them! Covid has made things more challenging but everyone we’ve ever encountered at South Lyon Animal Clinic has never been anything but friendly and helpful. We got our puppy at the beginning of the Pandemic when other vets were seeing new patients and/or providing preventative measures to new puppies. South Lyon Animal Clinic was and we are so glad we found them.

I moved and needed a new vet to take my dog. my dog is usually terrified of the vet when i take her. Due to covid they are curbside so when they brought my dog out to me she was sooo happy and smiling and wagging her tail and that is ALL i needed to see to know they are amazing at what they do and are great with dogs. she usually comes out of the vet with her tail tucked and acts different all day. She loved them and it made me so happy to know my baby was in good hands. They are pretty average on pricing compared to other vets. They were fast and very friendly! Would definitely recommend this vet

They are a great place, when my cat was sick ,they were very helpful. When Snooks passed away and they were very gentle with her and kind, she was 18, and lived a great life.

They have an awesome staff and very knowledgeable. I gave an older dog and she has a chronic condition and they assured me she will be ok and are helping me to keep her healthy

Took my kitty in last week, the doctor was amazing and took awesome care and all the ladies were awesome!
