I have had very poor experience with this place I have given them multiple chances. Let me say this staff is never AVALIABLE, whenever service is needed. I personally should never have to call my pets office 6-7 times and leave them 4 voice mails to get a simple information that I need, especially when it says they are clearly open and they never care to return call back or anything. I am starting to think they don't bother to listen any voice mails which is very unprofessional. Also I find it extremely unprofessional when I ask question about my pet and staffs respond is '"I DON'T KNOW". By it means he does not know how to look up information that is needed. If you don't know how to do your actual job why are you employed there to waste mine and other peoples time? You can do much better Royal Oak Animal Hospital. Because of lack of profession, discipline, and business I DO NOT RECOMMED THIS VETERINARY OFFICE.

I have continually been impressed by the care and patience of staff, and the utmost professionalism from Dr. Collins. You can rest at ease that Dr. Collins has your pet's best interest at heart!

I can't recommend this vet enough. My dog was attacked and they took her right away. They were great with her even though she was in pain and hurt.

I have never met a more loving and caring staff at a vets office before. I called them at 7 am because my moms cat was really sick and no other vet would take him. They offered to take him and they saved his life. He would not have made it threw the night without them. I am forever thankful for them. And will be returning for all my vet needs.

Doctor Janice Collins is an outstanding veterinarian. I have never seen a more caring, kind, and patient person towards me and my animals. She goes above and beyond to help my pets out no matter the issue. I appreciate everything she does.

Such a great experience for our first visit. Everyone was so kind and I felt like they truly cared about my dog. I had a good amount of time to talk with the Vet about the issue and never felt rushed. Very happy with the level of customer service and I will be going back for future visits!

Brought my cat here for a routine exam. The vet asked me to email a video of a certain behavior of my cat's that I expressed concern about, so that the vet could evaluate the video and give me her thoughts. Emailed the video to the clinic, got no response, called a few weeks later to follow up and the receptionist was very rude and defensive, but said she'd follow up with the vet. Forwarded the video again a month later when I still hadn't heard back, and still couldn't get a response. Emailed today to request they send me my cat's vet records because I'm switching vets, since their front desk staff is basically precluding me from following up with the vet like the vet specifically asked me to do. The same front desk person was rude and dismissive of me on the phone again today, didn't offer any explanation or apology for the issue, and basically just told me she'd email me my records and hung up. Then she didn't even send all of the records. Really disappointing and frustrating experience, especially because it seems that the entire issue is the front desk.

I've had nothing but great experiences from this veterinary clinic. Admittedly, I haven't been there in years. Only because I've moved about an hour away. I've come to appreciate them more due to recent events. I recently got a new puppy and have been trying hard to make a vet appointment locally. However, none of the places around me will even see the puppy (a Goldendoodle). They just keep telling me they're not taking new patients. It made me realize how good I had it at Royal Oak Animal Hospital. One quick story I can share about them is this; I had a black lab and he was awesome. When he was about 5 years old he developed a severe ear infection. The vet I was seeing at the time said the dog's ear canals were too thin and that water was getting stuck in them causing the infection. He wanted to do a surgery costing thousands of dollars. This just didn't seem right to me because my dog was never in water. So I visited Royal Oak Animal Hospital for a 2nd opinion. They immediately diagnosed him with allergies and sent him in for testing. Sure enough, my buddy was allergic to a lot of foods. I was told I had to change his diet based on the test results. Once I changed his diet, the infection cleared right up and it never returned. I owe Royal Oak Animal Hospital a huge debt of gratitude. They saved me from subjecting my dog to a painful, costly, and unnecessary surgery. After15 years, when it was time to say goodbye to my friend, they were very kind and graceful throughout the heartbreaking event. For that, I am forever grateful. And if I keep having trouble finding a new vet locally, I might have to take my new puppy for the hour long drive back there. At least I know these folks care about me and my dog.

Great vets but you will go insane trying to call them. They seldom answer their telephone or return voicemail. I have called 5 times yesterday during their stated hours, no answer. Left message. It is now 43 minutes into the next day. No …

Yesterday, my little dog, Picasso died. Dr. Collins and her team at Royal Oak Animal Hospital were the kindest, most helpful, and compassionate people. Over the years, the care given to my dogs has been exceptional and I use Dr. Collins for my veterinarian needs. Yet, yesterday, Dr. Collins compassion and exceptional care was extraordinary. I cannot thank this team of Doctors and staff for their care. I am deeply moved by your compassion and will always use your Hospital to ensure my animals have the care and support from this team.

I brought in my elderly cat, Ingrid. Dr. Jan wasn't able to save her but she did whatever could be done. I did not have the feeling that she was driving up the bill in any way--quite the opposite--and she even offered to let me bring Ingrid in daily for a feeding without charge, as I was having trouble doing the force feeding myself. Dr. Jan, Nicole, and Sandy were helpful, competent, and compassionate. Right now I'm at the stage of "how can I even think of getting another cat?" but I probably will and when I do I'll bring the cat back here.

Dr Jan and the entire staff are amazing. The knowledge they bring to each situation and the dedication to the care of each animal is amazing. I found Dr Jan and the practice 5 years ago when I was losing my love Baxter to a serious neurological disorder, She was one of only vet that was able to diagnosis the issue and help get Baxter in to MI State. She helped me give him hospice care for the rest of his life and ensured we had a meaningful goodbye. The practice made a donation to MI State in his honor. I was so touched by her love and concern for all of us. We immediately switched all our animals to her care and have added our new family members as they have come into our lives. Last week Dr Jan was hard at work with the staff late at night on a Friday making sure our cat Sadie has his meds and our Corgi was sorted for allergies. The dedication is beyond words. Thank you all for what you do and have done.

I told them what I needed. They didn’t say they didn’t have the equipment to do what I asked. Did the procedure anyway and injured my cat more than was necessary. They had multiple opportunities to tell me the truth but chose not to. …

Our pandemic puppies vet. They have taken care of Breeze, are crazy Boarder Collie / Red Heeler mix, no matter what is going on since she was 2 months old. The staff really cares about our dog. Thank you for your service and help!

CARE should be their middle name. Everyone is very friendly, knowledgeable. helpful and understanding. We adopted a 10 year old dog with problems we knew about in addition those we hadn't known about. We are still happy that we have him, even tho he has cost us thousands of dollars during the past 6 months. He is funny and full of personality and we love him and he loves us.. Royal Oak Animal Hospital treat Bernard and us as if we a member of their extended family. We are there so often with his health issues we should probably rent a room there. Wonderful, caring and considerate staff and doctors. Not one unpleasant experience

During visits, the vet did seem great with my dog. However, after finding him positive with parasites, a couple rounds of treatment were needed. After calling multiple times to get the second treatment, they said it was unnecessary. A couple months later, he still tested positive and at reception, they tried to tell me again a second round was unnecessary even as they handed me the medication that said on the packet that a second round was needed. My still growing puppy had roundworms for months unnecessarily. So veterinarian appts have been great but not much knowledge or organization on treatments needing follow up.

I have been taking my service dog to this animal hospital every since I’ve had him. I have a friend that was taking her dogs elsewhere and was complaining about the service. After taking her two dogs she called me and said this is my new vet. We both talked about the professionalism; the waiting time and cleanness the friendly staff and is always is the same each time we go

The vets themselves are fantastic and deliver great service. However, if you have an appointment on a busy day or come in near the end of the day, you can expect to wait for a ridiculous amount of time, and expect corners to be cut if anyone is rushing to get out of there. The cat in the waiting room stresses my cat out every time I go, which is frustrating because if he's at the vet...he's already stressed and either hurt or sick to begin with. One receptionist is very friendly and accommodating, while another one is more difficult to deal with.

Had great experience. I came to the office this morning for a visit as my dog tore a dewclaw. I was able to be seen even though my dog was a new patient. The vet was very thorough and addressed an ear infection and ears where cleaned during the same visit.

Dr. Jan and staff will always do their best for your furry children. I have been going there for years since my previous, beloved vet retired. They really go the extra mile to help with any issues your pet may have. They don’t try to do unnecessary treatments to up charge you. They love animals and it shows. Dr. Jan, Nicole, Sandy and staff are caring professionals. Thank you for everything!
