1-17-21 We were trying to rush with our 17 yr old cat who was in extreme distress. We called beforehand and they had us fill out forms prior to arriving. They told us …

Such an amazing and caring staff! Brought in a stray cat that had been hit by a car and the staff was very kind and professional. The doctor was incredibly busy but still took time to speak with me and my husband. Thank you Animal Emergency Center for helping when we were turned away by other places.

My cat got his tail shut in a door. His bone was exposed and needed sutures and meds. Wilson's in Washington township is my normal go to ER vet. They wouldn't take my cat as they were at capacity. I called like 9 other ER vets. They were all at capacity and one had no doctors. (It was new Year's Eve.) AEC asked if I could be there within an hour. Of course I said yes. Once we arrived we only had to wait 2 hours until he was seen. I will keep this in mind next time we need an ER vet. Thank you AEC for taking care of my Oreo.

This vet is absolutely wonderful. We had a unexpectedly very sick GSD puppy who we didn’t know would make it another day. When I called, Luke answered and personally went to check with a vet to see if they’d take our puppy even though they were at capacity. He talked me through the process of getting him there and what to expect. They fought hard to help my puppy and he’s doing now better. The vet called this morning and she sounded so happy that he was doing better. They cared so much about him and I am forever grateful for them.

These people don't care about your animals or even you, terrible customer service. They're just there for the paycheck and use covid as an excuse. This place either needs to be restaffed and remanaged or just shut down.

We met with Dr Brothers today. She was so caring, compassionate and accommodating. I don't know if I've ever met such a kind hearted professional in veterinary medicine. Overall the hospital was polite and accommodating. 10/10 recommendation on Dr Brothers. Any vet office would be lucky to have her.

Poor service. My cat was hit by a car and they would not take him. How can you call yourself an emergency vet and not take care of an emergency?

Horrible. It's an emergency vet but they can't see your pet when it's an emergency. I called last night at 5:30 and they weren't registering any more patients because their list was full. I called 2 hours later and still not taking patients. Called this morning and still not taking patients. Wth. I don't get it. Wilson's vet never did this. It's not an emergency clinic if you can't get in for an emergency.

The night we took my kitten home from her spay surgery she had trouble breathing and so I called and explained the situation to one of the techs. They immediately took her in. They treated her to the best of their ability and were very communicative during her overnight stay. The vet took her time to really explain to me what was happening over the phone. As with all the treatment for pneumonia, she developed sepsis and was not responding to treatment, so we had to let her go the next night. I hate to give 5 stars for that reason but the techs and the vet on duty were all very compassionate and patient with me. Considering how busy (and most likely understaffed because of everything) they were, they didn't rush me or ignore my concerns, which is unfortunately common at other clinics from previous experience. It was expensive but so are all of the other vet emergency 24 hour clinics.

I was heading out of town when my small dog ate my larger dog’s medication. Although they were at capacity they knew the emergency of this and were willing to take him in! Thank you so much for being so compassionate, especially when you are already over-worked!!!

This staff was very kind and compassionate. Would recommend to anyone. They love animals and made a hard situation very beautiful. They were booked to capacity and still managed to squeeze me in to help me euthanize my cat, he was in a lot of pain.

one of the best experiences i've had with a vet, the staff was so kind and they kept me updated through the whole process. they're very willing to accommodate to a budget and have some great payment plans, 100% recommend if you're in a tight spot financially !

These negative reviews are wrong. With covid there is a shortage of vets that are able to see animals. AEC was the ONLY vet that would take in my brothers dog over the weekend..every vet told us they don't take new patients. Unfortunately the dog died on the way to the vet but they were so compassionate and empathetic with us. They prepped the dog and put him in a burial bag and made pawprint memory for him. Then an hour later the other dog was having the same symptoms and they got him in right away. Yes we waited 3 hours but that is emergency for you, especially during these times. If a vet is at capacity they are at capacity Unfortunately.

My pup started vomiting uncontrollably yesterday morning, it was a pink/red color and I panicked. I called my local vet clinic and they recommended AEC in Rochester. I rushed there while calling on my way, every single member of the staff was incredibly helpful. Every step explained, my pup had to be hospitalized overnight and I even got an update call in the afternoon to let me know my dog’s status. He was discharged the next morning and I had a precise and detailed explanation of his diagnosis and treatment plans after discharge. I want to thank EVERYONE at AEC, my dog is my best friend and my only child. Thank you for your attention, your compassion and your diligence.

I would give five stars if I wasn’t there to have my yogi unexpectedly euthanized… The staff and dr were friendly and were quick to evaluate, diagnose and unfortunately treat; humane euthanasia…my guy had a thrombi he was fine one minute the next he couldn’t walk or breathe they had O2 On hand which is more than I can say for some of the hospitals I tried to go to; they quickly gave him medication for his pain and despite how Trumatic this whole experience was they made him very comfortable very fast. It broke my heart to see my poor sweet boy go at only 6; But overall and the staff was patient and understanding; knowledgeable about his condition I totally forgot his sister had a rare congenital heart defect which is what had an impact on his health that quickly deteriorated; They gave me my time with him as he went peacefully and I have to say financially it did not break the bank; Again they would get five stars had it not been for the circumstances

I sought emergency services after my cat ate a lily petal, which is potentially lethal. Every individual I spoke with here was so kind and thorough. They provided updates at least two times daily because he required a two day stay. I love my cat so much and really appreciated how comforting they were in a time of distress. Other emergency pet places estimated 5-6 hour wait times to get in but AEC took my cat back immediately and communicated with poison control about the situation. I am very grateful my cat has been doing well and could not have imagined a kinder team during that stressful time.

I would give staff a 5 star, they were compassionate and informative. The lacking of 2 stars is due to charges. I was charged 3X what previous emergency vet (at capacity so only option was to go AEC) charged for less. He was there approx 15 hours and was charged 2 vet visits (intake and morning visit), two ICU admit fees, crazy high blood work fees (5X what his primary charges, I knew they'd be higher being emergency but over 5X is crazy!) Same dog is back at emergency (different hospital) and will be there 2 days, recieved multiple meds, had a neurologist check up, alll bloodwork and total is still less than that at AEC.

We had to put our Josey down and everyone was so compassionate and gentle. Thank you from the bottom of ours hearts for making such a hard time a little easier.

Absolutely Atrocious Emergency services, which aren't actually emergency services, it's a regular clinic so if you show up with your dog dying, you get to wait in line behind Fluffy getting her monthly check up. No triage procedures whatsoever.

We had a terrible start to our holiday weekend with our dog needing medical attention we couldn’t get her in anywhere because of how full everywhere was. We brought her here and they took care of our dog even tho they themselves were very busy. Thanks to everyone who works here you guys are hero’s!

Do not recommend at all! Called with an emergency about my dog, got cut off while explaining. Was told there was not a vet to help until after 6pm. Do not call yourself an emergency center if you cannot accommodate!

I highly recommend. They are compassionate and so kind and they truly helped ease the painful process of losing my beloved dog Lilly.

I’d like to start this review out by saying the staff at this vet are amazing. Especially Kate. We had to bring our boxer here today, he had an obstruction in his small intestine. He required emergency surgery. We are very young, and did not expect this bill to fall on us. She went above and beyond helping us with payment options and giving us advice on the situation. We were able to have our sweet boy operated on. After a very bad experience with another emergency vet in the beginning of this year, I will say that the Animal Emergency Center will forever be my go to emergency animal hospital. They got us in quickly compared to other vets, kept us updated on the procedure and discharge instructions. We can rest a little easier knowing that our dog is in such great hands here. Thank you so much to all of you for being so compassionate. We will be forever thankful.

It's hit and miss at best with these people. Sometimes they are great, other times I just would like to strangle the staff. Perhaps someone can explain how an "Emergency" center cannot accept a bleeding animal? I was considering collecting their veterinary licenses and reporting this to the state licensing authority, but my daughter talked me out of it. RESPONSE TO THE REPLY: Please stop using the pandemic as an excuse. It is tiring and doubtful at best. As for your excuses: You did not refer us at all, your staff simple said you were full, and even though we brought a bleeding animal in, you failed to even do a simple triage. Your staff would not even let us in the door to sign in. And your staff didn't bother to query my animals problem all! You would have no idea if it was critical or not. We called another emergency center and they triaged over the phone before we even got there. Which means YOU FAILED! And yes maam, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR STAFF AND THEY FALL UNDER YOUR LICENSE. And if you try with another ridiculous excuse, I will indeed get the Michigan state licensing board involved. I suggest you get a new staff!!

Don't go here... Very unfriendly the instant I walked in. If they treat me like this I am worried how they treat the pets behind their doors.

RUDE staff, not compassionate at all! Absolutely SHAMEFUL the way they have treat CUSTOMERS during COVID: AVOID this place all cost! People need to report this place, 90% of their staff has ZERO compassion to the pet owner, and this staff is the WORST! This place DOES NOT belong in Rochester. Doctors should have come together ALONG time ago and established a proper training for staff! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!!AVOID!!! AVOID!

My dog, Ace had an obstruction in his small intestine that he needed emergency surgery for on a Saturday afternoon/evening. Our vet sent us here, and I’m so glad she did. These negative reviews really shock me. The first thing I appreciated was while I waited in my car, my dog waited with me. At Blue Pearl they rudely tell you to put your dog in a cage and leave, “he’ll be seen when they have time”. I was fine with the wait time we had at AEC, if they were taking that time to give those animals ahead of us the proper care they need, then they are going to do the same with my baby when they take him. All the staff was so kind, patient and helpful. Kellie was so nice getting us set up over the phone. The doctors we had were phenomenal, going over every single detail of this surgery and letting me ask all my questions. They made me feel very comfortable leaving my baby in their hands and I’m thankful for each and every one of them.
