The most honest & accommodating Vet I've ever dealt with. Affordable as well! I've been going to Dr. McLaughlin since 2003.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VET OFFICE! I have been going to this vet for 2 years - give or take - and it has always been... alright. Not the best vet services I have experienced. But nothing terrible either. Until recently. About a month ago my cat Roxxy started urinating outside of her litterbox. She is only 3 years old and was wetting her own bed and I very extremely worried about what could be wrong. I gave them a urine sample and they said she had a severe urinary tract infection and gave me medicine to give her. After having her on the medicine for over 2 weeks she was still regularly urinating all over the house - unable to control her bladder. I took a urine sample in and they said that her infection was cleared and that the problem was solved. When I explained that she was still urinating outside of her litterbox my response was exactly, "Well, we aren't sure what your options are at this point. We feel she might be in pain. So, if you want we can give you pain medicine to give to her". This was told to me by a receptionist who said she had spoke to Dr McLaughlin about my options. I was completely in shock and felt helpless! They did not offer or advise for any more tests to be done. Or bring up seeing her again. If they thought she was in pain you would think they would want to find out why... not give an innocent animal pain medicine without confirming if she needs it or not. I was depressed for about a week not knowing what I should do. Diapering my cat and her still going outside of her litterbox. Then a coworker suggested Great Lakes Animal Hospital in Clinton Township. Although it was 30 minutes away I made an appointment and took Roxxy in. And I am so glad I did. The vet went over all my options with me. She did a full exam, took more urine, and even did bloodwork so we could make sure to rule out anything serious. The next day the vet (Dr Patel) called me personally to go over the results! She didn't have a receptionist call me. She let me know that Roxxy still has a urinary tract infection and needs more medicine. Now my cat is getting properly treated and is finally going in her litterbox. I am so relieved. Another problem with McLaughlin is they don't take the urine directly from the animal. Which gives better results than a sample brought from home. Since they apparently thought her infection was cleared when it wasn't at all. ALL PET OWNERS: RESEARCH AND LOOK INTO WHERE YOU TAKE YOUR PETS! THEY CAN'T CHOOSE THEIR OWN VET AND DESERVE SOMEONE WHO WILL TAKE GOOD CARE OF THEM! SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR WELL-BEING!

Is our standard go to vet. He is very reasonable and cares for the animals. His nurse named Angie is excellent too.

We live 25 minutes away now and we’ve been taking our fur babies to Dr. McLaughlin for over 20 years. We refuse to give them up even though we moved 13 years ago. He’s kind, professional and ALWAYS does what is best for our fur kids. We have cats and dogs and he and his amazing staff, Angie and Nicole, treat our loves like family. Our dogs have never been afraid to go to the Doctor, in fact one of them pulls us into the office because he’s so excited to see them. It’s not fancy, but it’s always clean and they are always kind and professional.

McLaughlin saved my dog. I went to 2 different vets before him trying to treat my dog for acute toxicity and infection and I spent twice as much at those places. Not only was McLaughlin affordable, but they worked him into their schedule, on my last minute desperation, and within my budget because they knew my circumstances. McLaughlin loves animals, I am lucky he was there. 10/10 x10000 !!!!

Very sympathetic staff and doctor. We had to put our beloved 16 year old dog to sleep and it was a peaceful process with their patience and help.

Dr McLaughlin is the best vet ever had my last keeshond went only to Dr McLaughlin. That furry son we had for 14 years. We then got another keeshond that we only take to Dr McLaughlin. The have been going to him over 24 years and wouldn't think of changing.

I have taken my pup to see Dr McLaughlin when the vet I was taking her to was closed during the pandemic. He is very caring, of which I like. I love how he describes the health of my pup. I am planning on taking my cats to see him. Thank you.

Great service switched to this vet when my vet just decided to go out of business, even during the Covid they were helpful, I recommend this place to all the folks in Michigan that follow me on you tube & other platforms. Thank you MC Laughlin, and thank.you to the Awesome girl that ran in and out to service me and my dawg lol

Very friendly. Although it was more expensive than I anticipated, it's typical for emergency vets to charge more. They were very upfront with pricing and flexible. They also called a few days later to check up on our sweet girl who had an awful UTI. I would definitely go back if another emergency were to happen.... but we are hoping it won't. ????

I've been going to McLaughlin Animal Hospital for 25 plus years and fell in love with the staffs handling, caring and their love of animals. Dr. Tim provides one-on-one service at a reasonable price and I never have to wait a long before being seen. Also, they do not prey on your sympathy by trying to get you to spend hundreds on unnecessary tests.

We took our dog in to see Dr. Tim. This was our pup's 3rd vet in 2 years. Our hound/shepherd rescue is very healthy, but has hot spots on her paws. Dr. Tim spent a good length of time with us explaining options on treatments. The office visit cost was very reasonable with a focus on the best, most inexpensive treatment of symptoms. Dr. Tim is our new favorite vet!

Everyone there, doctor & staff, are the most considerate & compassionate people we have experience from any veterinary clinic. When we had to put down our Border Collie, Dr. McLaughlin was so understanding of what we were going through. The thing that surprised us however, since we were going to take our dog directly to a pet funeral home afterwards, is the staff asked everyone in the waiting room to go into another room until we left with our dog. Wonderful people!

There's only one veterinarian and he does a great job. Currently I drive almost 40 miles to have Tim look at my dog and cat because I cannot find anybody satisfactory and where I live. I'm tired of everybody trying to upsell me and get me to pay for things I don't need. This will not happen at McLaughlin Animal Hospital. He gives you techniques and information that saves you a lot of money that other veterinarians would rather you not know as they make money on it. His prices are affordable he speaks plain and direct. He tells you what he can do and what he can't. His long time assistant Angie Works hand in glove with him. He personally has done me many favors that were I to win the lottery he would be number one on my list.

Love Dr. Tim and staff. One on one experience for you and your pet. Not a giant warehouse vet. Worth my hour drive.
