Facility was very clean, animals appeared to be well cared for and staff was great! They didn't rush us and spent as much time with us as needed. Very happy with our new family member!

Our family was so impressed with MARL. They have a great facility and wonderful staff. The animals are well cared for and supported. The adoption process was well designed. they make clear expectations for transitioning our new family member to our home.

MARL was quick to respond to my adoption inquiry. They checked the information I provided and followed up with any further questions/concerns. The facility is calm and professional. The staff and volunteers were very welcoming. And aside from being current with all medical needs, my adoptee was very well socialized. This is my (extended) family’s second adoption through MARL and I am grateful they are doing the wonderful work they do.

The adoption process with the MARL was very smooth and easy. The staff was so welcoming and very accommodating. We adopted Harley, AKA Moss while MARL on 12/19/21 and couldn't be more in love! It was an amazing experience we drove from the other side of the state and when we said we really wanted him they let us take him home that day! Highly recommend them.

Everyone at the Michigan Animal Rescue League were so kind and incredibly helpful. Everything was explained thoroughly and professionally about the adoption itself and about my new dog. My new best buddy, Elvira, has made herself right at home. She loves chasing squirrels in the backyard and relaxing in her new comfy bed. I put in an application in for a specify dog about 6 months ago. That dog was not meant to be my pup, but MARL kept my application on file and called me when a dog came in that met my needs. I also would browse the website in search of my little guy. I finally found him over the weekend. He came home with me yesterday and I'm already so in love with him. He is doing great so far. He was a stray puppy and I did rename him, Gibbs. Thank You MARL I want to add that this is a great facility and very clean. The staff and volunteers are wonderful!!!

The experience with MARL was wonderful! What a kind staff, and you can see how much they love the animals! We adopted our sweet Myra (Beagle) and couldn't be happier! She is one of the family now! Thank you MARL!

Posted from my social media : Hey everyone , do you remember my multiple posts about our stray porch cat we named “Freda” (with the cute pirate face), well after some time and Ecko feeding her once a day we decided to do some looking around and found her this amazing home. A no-kill shelter right here in Pontiac that she will enjoy her life freely roaming until she is adopted , I cannot speaking highly enough about this place , the staff is amazing and what a clean environment, even the dogs have their own beds and blankets. Yesterday we decided to drop by and see her , WOW she looks so great , she had a lot of dental work done and she put on a lot of weight!❤️???? From seeing her sleeping alone under my propane grill to her living a healthy life with fellow friends in her cage free room was so awesome to see???? It was great seeing you again Freda !! ❤️

Such a great shelter and a great experience. They take time to go over your adoption application which really lets you know that all of the animals go to good loving homes. Everyone was very sweet, informative and helpful. The shelter itself was amazing! So clean and so much attention to detail for the pets. Perfect place for animals to live while they're waiting on a forever home!

I just want everybody to know what a great experience I had the people were so nice the place was clean and the best part was that I found my best friend we are a perfect match. He’s 10 years old but the rest of his life will be his best

They Had someone drive out to Macomb several years ago to pick up a freezing stray I was caring for in my heated cat box. I have donated every year since! Such a caring group of people! Sent 4 cases of wet food for cats & dogs this week!!! They even called me a year later to let me know my stray was adopted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had such a good experience with MARL! The staff was friendly and made sure to look out for the best interests of the animal. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. Each animal appeared well cared for. I would recommend this facility to anyone seriously interested in adopting an animal. Can’t say enough nice things about MARL!!!

The staff at MARL are incredible. They are very knowledgeable about the animals up for adoption and how well they would be able to adapt to a new home, whether it be pets, kids, or other situations. The new facility that they have opened is absolutely gorgeous as well, and allows people that are looking to adopt to interact with the animals in an open environment. I highly recommend them.

Adopted my doggie from MARL, and I am so pleased with the experience! Staff was incredibly helpful and handled all inquiries/paperwork in such a timely manner. Tommy (if I remembered his name correctly) curated my dog meet and greets, and he was the best! Definitely the place to go to find your lifetime companion. Thanks for taking such great care of the sweet girl I adopted.

Pros: Clean, bright interior spaces. Receptionist & volunteers are friendly. Animals are well cared for, almost pampered.

Bad experience, called three times and not a single call back. Went to the shelter and they told me to fill out a application online and schedule a appointment and I did but still they would not return any of my calls. Would not recommend!!

Wonderful experience with adopting Astro - new name Boomer the Zoomer ????. This is our second time adopting from MARL.

Nice facility. Well cared for pets. Adopted a dog and received excellent service from the staff. Full medical background, health evaluation and up-to-date vaccinations. Friendly people that make sure pets are placed in good homes. Highly recommended.

Our experience with MARL was great! They made it easy to adopt two beautiful kittens after filling out a short application and a phone conversation. The “donation” they required was very reasonable for kittens already spayed/neutered, with first shots, and microchipped. I highly recommend that anyone who seeks to adopt a pet, check first with the MARL and save a life! Adopt, don’t shop! ❤️???? ????

We adopted the newest member of our family from MARL. It was a good experience, not pressured, they let us take our time introducing our other dogs to the new one to ensure compatibility. They talked us through all the information we needed for his next vet appointments, and generally made it a pleasant experience.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, they showed all the available pets and provided additional information of those we are interested. Finally we adapted Luca who is 5 months kitten, very happy with adoption and support MARL.
