My dog had a critical illness that required emergency surgery. She is 17 years old and I was nervous about the procedure. NCVEC took excellent care of her and she is thriving. The staff was wonderful and understood my fears and the medical staff did an excellent job on her surgery and pulled her through. I am forever grateful and recommend them to everyone who needs emergency vet care.

Overall I appreciated the care that Mira was given while she was there and that you were able to see her quickly. I appreciated that you listened to my concerns with her history and kept these in mind while doing her exam and ordering tests. I also appreciated being able to email you the photos (though gross, I know!) of her emesis and stool so you could see what I saw and what had me concerned. Would highly recommend.

Pretty cool... The vet was very informative with everything, even discounted the price of the services needed for my kitty, because it was a little more than what I had with me. Awesome ????????????????

Dr. Masri and all of the staff were caring and sincere. Our questions were answered the way we could understand and the discharge summaries given to us was very informative. Since this was an emergency clinic that the wait was long but it was understandable. We were so glad that we were able to get Hana, our cat to be seen and treated. We really appreciate everyone at the NVC Emergency Center for the service they provided under the stressful situation.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The wait was extremely long, which seems to be the case in all "emergent" situations. Thankful for the friendly & personable staff

I had a wonderful experience. The techs and Dr Ankrom were amazing, compassionate and kept things real with me. I was a blubbering mess, but they were so understanding. I’m in vet med, but am completely illogical with my own pets. Thank you to everyone who helped with my senior cat.

The staff is very sympathetic and caring. They are very knowledgeable and explained everything and answered all my questions. I can't thank each of the ladies that were on staff in the very early hours of December 19th enough . I very much appreciated their kindness.

I wish this office had regular veterinary services in this area because I'd definitely take my cats there. The people were friendly and knowledgeable, and they took great care in finding the cause of my kitty's illness.

We had to rush our 13yr old Chihuahua who was having problems breathing. They took her straight back, they kept updating me on her while we waited for a room. Once in the room the vet explained everything very thorough, our baby was in CHF and not doing well. This along with her GI issues that last few years was not a good diagnosis. We had to say see ya later to our beloved family member.the staff was amazing and very sympathetic. They allowed us all the time we needed before and after. I can't thank them enough for the treatment for our baby and ourselves.

I was very impressed by how kind people were at the office and over the phone. When we arrived the women who met us was very patient with our anxious pup. I was grateful for the gentle and skillful manners of those that worked with our dog .

The care we received during a stressful pet illness was really great. They gave us an estimated wait time that was completely understandable for an ER. We received great care and going home instructions. Quality care and information provided was a great service.

Helpful staff. Very caring workers. I just would have liked an employee to be at the front desk more.

5+ hours waiting in the parking lot after a 45 minute drive. They did nothing for our dog who had a seizure- kept her in a cage. Charged us $139 & sent us home. No care outlandish fees. New Buffalo vet saw her next day & in less than an hour diagnosed the problem & dispensed med & cist way less

First time ever having had to go to a place like this. Despite sitting in my car for 5 hours (home at 2am) and the high bill which always acconpanies such things, I'm just thankful I could get help for my pup. Staff was friendly, helpful, and as thorough as could be, despite being so busy.

To have a local place to help my sick baby on a Sunday morning is priceless. The staff was amazing and made my baby girl feel comfortable and safe.

While the whole experience was traumatic by virtue of having a sick pet (family member), sitting in the car from 7:30PM 'til 3:30AM in the cold and rainy darkness with the engine running . . . Doctors and staff were caring, kind and compassionate on every level. When I called in the day after, I received the same high-level service and care. Courtesy and compassion at every level of communication with numerous caregivers.

Wait times are long but again understand as to the reason. It's due to the patients overall emergency need and status. The staff was wonderful and kind.. They answered my questions with patience. I am very grateful and the community is blessed to have this emergency clinic when others are closed near by. Thank you to the staff and volunteers for taking care of our animal babies.

Our very sick 3 year old beagle had pneumonia after her old vet missed an opportunity to put her on an antibiotic when she exhibited classic respiratory symptoms. After her condition deteriorated to a very scary level and she suffered a seizure resulting from a lack of oxygen, it was recommended that we take her down to Purdue and it was looking very grim for her, we opted to keep her local for the weekend and take her to Purdue on Monday if she didn't improve. She was admitted to NCEC on Friday evening and given supplemental oxygen, intravenous fluids and antibiotics. She bounced back very quickly and we took home a drastically improved dog home late Saturday evening. The entire NCEC was very professional and on top of their game and we are forever grateful. The compassion and top notch treatment our dog received and the open communication at any time we desired about her condition made all the difference for her very worried mom & dad!

Will NEVER be coming here or recommending them to anyone I know in the area. Took my cat in because he is showing signs of a respiratory infection. First of all, they administered medications without my knowledge until already done. 2nd of all, I never received updates about my cat without me having to call. Mind you, it would be over a hour and a 1/2 before I would be hearing any kind of updates on him. When I finally got through to whoever on the other end. They told me my cat had a enlarged heart and that because his WBC count was high he was having heart failure. They concluded 2 test and said heart failure and that he wouldn’t be able to come home off oxygen to make it to his vet appointment on Monday. Little do they know…I’m very close with my primary vet. Went to highschool together. I called her right away and she told me they’re wrong for even telling me that without concluding more test. His blood work to her did no show heart failure. Shows he was fighting a infection like I believed he was. He’s still eating and drinking just fine and getting around just fine and they wanted me to put him down. Actually doctor Emily Barnhart wanted me to put him down. Said if he came off oxygen he wouldn’t make it through the weekend. Also the receptionist Shelby, was very unprofessional and rude when I went to go pick up my cat. I demanded he be sent home with the medications MY vet wanted. She made me feel terrible for picking up my cat and taking him home because I didn’t spend the 5 thousand dollars on their treatment that “would maybe or maybe not work” . She also told me she didn’t know how long it would be because “everyone is with patients” as I watched them from the parking lot accept a food delivery and pass it out to everyone before my cat could come out. I see where their priorities stand and it’s not with your pets. Please do not take them here. They will just get you to either put down your healthy pet or scam you. P.s my cat is doing way better BECAUSE I had him sent home with the proper medications that I HAD TO ASK FOR. They wouldn’t of sent anything home if I didn’t ask. He will be going to his primary on Monday for real actual testing. She can’t wait to call and report this place once she proves them wrong.

Great place for emergency pet visit. Didnt break the bank and explained everything before any services were provided. Only down side is I had to wait in my car while my cat was taken inside.

AVOID THIS PLACE ENTIRELY!!!! The ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE. Arrived at 7pm with my K9 that needed emergency medical treatment - they took him inside while leaving me to wait ‘curbside’ in the parking lot. 5 HOURS OF WAITING in the parking lot and a few phone calls to them (while waiting) I gave up! At midnight I had to bang on the front door and ask that my pet be returned to me. They never even so much as looked at or examined him. RIDICULOUS BEYOND BELIEF.

On the evening of September 24th, we brought our Bulldog to the clinic because she was showing signs of respiratory failure. They adminesterd oxygen, labs, x-rays etc. We were told that they were limited in their technology to do further testing on her.... We discussed options of sending her to a more advanced medical clinic.... or maybe Perdue animal hospital. This dr and her team advised us that our beloved Gracie would be fine traveling the 2 and a half hour drive to Lafayette as long as she had the oxygen that they provided in a 'oxygen tent' they also said that they would sedate her so she would be calm on the trip to Perdue. Well, that did not happen. Gracie became totally distressed within an hour on our way there. I watched my beautiful baby girl suffer before taking her last breath. (It was horrible) Upon arrival at Perdue animal hospital, we were told that our girl should have never been sent on a road trip in her condition. In hindsight? We should have been able to come into the emergency clinic that night and personally see her declining condition and make the decision of whether she should have had further testing or euthanized humanely. She did not get that chance. This is not my last comments on what happened that night. My plan is to make sure that this never happens again. I have noticed that my review has a 5 star rating and I tried to edit it to 2*

My dog had a huge gash in his paw. This place told me if my dog is not dying then he is not a priority. They refused to see him for 6 hrs after I already let them know I was on the way ahead of time. Do better!
