I adopted a pomsky that was a retired breeding dog who has never lived in a home. She is the sweetest dog I have ever owned. She came complete with vet records, including a dental, which they gave her b/c she needed it, and she had been spayed.

We had an awesome experience with this organization. We came from Naperville IL to get our dog who we’ve had for 9 years. The adoption agencies around us are over the top crazy difficult to deal with. We found our dog on petfinder and drove 2 1/2 hours to get him. We love him and are appreciative of all the work and dedication the volunteers do to save these animals!

What rescue group charges $800 for a puppy mill dog? This isn't a rescue group. They're in it for money and disguise it as a rescue. They're just as bad as a puppy mill.

We have an amazing husky. They rescued her from a kill shelter in Alabama. She is such a sweet girl and they make sure that the people will take care of the animals they get.

They were wonderful to us! We found our very sweet Aussie mix through them. The only complaint that I have is they made us take him the same day on a Thursday. We have a German Shepherd and wanted to do the meet and greet while it was light outside. We asked if we could pay and pickup the next day but she refused to let us do that and was going to give him to someone else if we didn’t take him. Needless to say our German was not a fan at first but they are the best of friends now. We absolutely love our dude and so happy we found him!❤️

Maggie got back to me almost right away after putting in the application, and Jennifer got back to me within a few hours of putting in an email for the application. Those who say they do not adopt out to people with ethnic sounding names.... hello, my last name is definitely Italian. Maggie was also a delight to speak to and I cannot wait to meet the dog on Sunday.

Would not recommend this rescue. Submitted an application 2 times and never received call or communication back. Owner confirmed no applications on the dog we were interested in. After application and no contact back see they adopted out to someone else. BAD BUSINESS !!!!!! There are a million rescue's. I would expressly avoid this one as well as their documented neglect of animals. :(

Words cannot express the amazing experience we had adopting our new family member. Maggie helped not only us, but the dog find her perfect family. This was truly a one on one personal experience that we won’t forget. Thank you Homeward Bound! ❤️

This sounds like a for profit organization. $700 adoption fee...prices you'd pay at those mall pet stores. Isn't it a shelter's purpose to find loving homes for these animals, why else go through the application process?
