Andi, our 15 yr old Islandic Sheepdog, received phenomenal care from Dr Tokar as usual. We’ve only been there a short time, but the staff are polite and courteous.

Took my dog to check out limping and get anti-inflammatory meds. Said they believed it to be a knee and ACL tear and wanted $600 to do an x-ray and meds. I questioned x-ray since it can't see soft tissue then they said well they could look for hip issues, when the doctor just told me it was a knee problem. I then asked just for the medicine and they said it would be $400 because they needed to do blood work first. $400 for some pills I've gotten for other pets before for $75!!!! I said forget it and now going to take her to another vet for medicine. Oh and I made the mistake of giving my email. Now I'm getting sales spam from them wanting to sell me stuff from their online store and no unsubscribe button!!! Appears they're all about making money, not pet care.

Dr. Haas is a very good vet. Took my cat for 2 opinions. She is very professional and kept me informed on everything that was going on with my cat and what the treatment plan would be. The front desk girls were all very nice. Those that complain about cost, trust me the prices are fair. Dr. Haas has a very compassionate demeanor and took great care of my cat. I will continue to go to Dr. Haas. Not a fan of curb side but, understand it. Thank you Dr. Haas and staff. For making my cat happy and healthy again. S. Lundberg (Louie)

I waited forever to write this review because I was traumatized by my experience here. But please do not bring your animals here. They are money driven and were very rude when my cat was involved in a trauma that I couldn’t pay $5000 to fix. We had to put her to sleep. I wish I remembered the female Vets name because I would report her to the licensing board for ethics violations. The male Vet was exceptionally nice and even apologized. I was told “well I guess you should have had pet insurance” while my cats leg was hanging off. Read the reviews. Im not alone.

Don’t bother scheduling an appointment here. They will leave you waiting in the parking for over an hour just to get your pet checked in. This place is constantly under construction, and they are overcharging their customers to help pay for the bills. Take your business and money somewhere else.

I drove 4 hours to bring a foster dog for major orthopedic surgery. I walked in and was greeted by an extremely rude and unprofessional front desk receptionist who was giving me an attitude for “not being on the schedule” - which I most definitely was. Mind you- all of this is happening while I’m holding a 40lb dog with both back legs broken. She proceeded to walk away and refuse to help me for whatever reason. Extremely unprofessional and I’m uncomfortable even leaving the dog here with them.

We had an emergency with our 2-year old Dalmatian. She hurt herself playing with another dog and suddenly would not walk or move her back legs. 3 other 24-hour vets and our 20-year vet office and 3 other vets would see her because they were closing in 2 hours ( it was 4:30 pm). Found Dr. Boatman and this facility on internet. They were compassionate, wanted to see her and did everything needed to find out was was wrong. She is recovering marvelously and we are grateful for the care they gave our baby. They were all wonderful!!

I can't express how much I appreciate this place. Two years in a row on Christmas night my boy Bruno had some issues and VCS saved him. I have the highest trust in this hospital. Also I unknowingly met the owner the other day in the parking lot and he gave me a Veterans Discount :-) Thank you!

Terrible experience!!! I would never, ever, recommend this place for any type of service. We received care for our puppy’s broken leg. And while the care of our puppy seemed to be good (she is still in recovery) we found the staff to be extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional!!! Stay clear.

I had the best result bringing my 4 month old puppy named Patch to this place. I called just once to explain them that my puppy showed symptoms of parvovirus and they immediately took care of him, did the test and it came back positive. Thanks to Dr. Katie Boatman for receiving it quickly. They had to hospitalize him, and the truth is I don't regret having made the decision to leave him in their hands. They treated me with great kindness, they received the dog with great affection and attention. He was hospitalized for 4 days, and there was not a day that Dr. Carrie Tokar did not call me to give me updates on his health, every morning and every afternoon. I’m very grateful for their great attention to him, the puppy is already in very good health, thank God I can say that my puppy is alive.. ????????????????????????

Expect to wait at least an hour in the parking lot to get in even though you talked to them on the phone 4 hours earlier and they say to come up there at 5pm. When I get up there they said there was only 2 in front of me. Then you can't go in until they call you. Then I walk all the way up there with a cast on my leg & they tell you that only one person can come in, so I had to walk all the way back to my vehicle. They didn't give me any of this info when I talked to them on the phone twice. Look at the charges, 3+ views of radiology, each one with a charge. Why should I pay for something 3 separate times for them to find.

Would leave 0 stars if I could. The vet was extremely cold with me and my cat. She didn’t even touch him when she came into the room. She was in the room for maybe all of 60 seconds and walked out as I was trying to ask questions about the process. They didn’t check to make sure pets were stable, just left you to sit in a parking lot for 4+ hours. They run unnecessary tests and charge outrageously for them. In addition to my own horrible experience, my coworker took her bunny here and they lied to her, neglected to tell her any information or results of test, and tried to send her to another place that was closed. Her rabbit was only slightly ill when she arrived and by the time she left he had died before they got to the car. DO NOT take your furry friends here. Please.

Our dog had an abscess tooth emergency. People at the clinic were very helpful and took care of the abscess in a prompt and effective manner. I am so grateful for their service. The Veterinarian who performed the surgery on our dog was top notch. The support staff could not have been more accommodating and kind.

I brought my dog here at 9:00 in the morning and they said there was no vet there until 6:00. I called before I went back and they said still no vet but to call back and she might be there by 7:00. Why are you open as an emergency pet hospital with no vet to care for patients? And the girl at the front desk didn’t seem to care about anything. I’m glad it wasn’t life threatening, we will be finding somewhere else to go, preferably with a vet on staff!

VCS is the best place around. The care that my dog has received from them is amazing. In March of 2020 I rescued a 3 year old German Shepherd and after only having him 5 months he was diagnosed with Poly-arthritis. It has been a long journey getting him well again but we couldn't have done it without Dr. Hass and her nurse Dana O. Words cannot express how grateful we are for them and the kindness and care that they give my baby. He wouldn't be where he is today without them. Everyone that we have encountered at VCS has been very kind and helpful. Exceptional care is always provided at VCS.

i took my dog here in need of stitches and they didn’t even have a vet there to see my animal. This is very unreasonable and i will never be coming here again. They referred me to a vet over 20 minutes away, luckily my animal made it to the other vet just in time. They should not even be an open emergency clinic.

I've dealt with this place a couple of times and never had a good experience. They really don't seem to actually care about helping animals.

On 4/12/2021 my female Lab Molly was at the park and got a large stick jammed down her throat, my wife pulled it out it was full of blood. Veterinary Care Specialists looked at her within 30 minutes after we arrived, they recommended to sedate her to do x rays and further diagnose her injury. They found a 1& 1/4" tear in her throat, flushed out any splinters and repaired the injury. Molly is doing well today thanks to the Team at Veterinary Care Specialists they saved her life. Thank you !!!

Was able to get my bunny in at the last minute. Vet doc was very thorough for what she could do for my bunny. The consultation was affordable. Awesome bedside manners! Definitely will try to go there again if another problem comes up with my other animals.

Took my pup here after having a suspicion that he had eaten something he shouldn’t and had a massive vomiting attack I had called on my way then when we arrived then each hour that I sat waiting in the parking lot. I get that other cases may have been more severe but 3 hours waiting with my sick scared dog in the car. They then informed me after waiting 3 hours that I could do a drop off if I wanted to just go home because it would be over an hour still before he was seen. They proceeded to call me one time and tell me what they planned to do, then said they would give me an update that evening and in the morning. Neither happened and I had to call to get an update myself just to be told the doctor wasn’t even in yet (9am) and then they failed to give me results of any tests I had to ask for everything I also asked them not to do a second X-ray on him if the first X-ray did not show an obstruction, which they proceeded to do anyways despite my request. I then told them I was taking him home because they were not communicating caring or professional and they told me he had an accident as he was walking to the door to go home STILL NOT COLLECTING A FECAL SAMPLE AT THIS POINT saying he needed to stay another night so they could keep him hydrated Bc I didn’t have the proper equipment (mind you they also did not put him back on an IV which was the whole point of the extended stay) unbelievably terrible service for a high price tag and did not answer my questions or address my concerns. They then proceeded to try to charge me for things I had already paid for after the fact when they checked on my dogs condition 2 weeks later. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and my dog has not been the same since he used to be a happy pup but now is incredibly timid I do not think they were giving him proper care at all.

Dr. Boatman is the best. She’s thorough, informative, takes time to educate and really cares about finding a solution, not a quick fix. The staff is so friendly and professional. I absolutely love that my cat has found a great home vet since we’ve moved back to the area. He doesn’t like being poked and prodded but he does seem to like the team there!

They are not a 24 hour clinic like they say- closed at 4 am. My dog had an emergency during the middle of the night and when I called and said that I wanted to bring him in for observation ( possible toxicity) the girl at the front desk told me I’d be waiting in the car since the vet was going into surgery. Who says that??! Very unprofessional non caring and very pricey.

This place is listed as a Emergency place for animals with open hours of 24 hours a day. My dog was having trouble breathing, so I went here. The closest place to me..... still being 25 minutes away. I arrive and pull into a spot and called the number on the sign in front of the spot, only to be told that I should have checked their website because they don't have a vet on there until 5pm and it was 8AM! This is not emergency services. It is not reliable and she proceeds to tell me as my dog is not breathing properly of a place in NOVI! Even further away! I hung up and left immediately and headed to a place that took my babe in right away and helped us. So beyond disappointed that people list themselves as emergency 24 hour services when they don't even have the staff. I will never EVER go to this place again. Ill drive the extra time to a place I know will have the proper staff and care for the animals!

So I lost my first bunnie due to a respiratory issue, so when I adopted my 2 girl bunnies I was scared of this happening again. When my bunnie Tater tot got the same thing 3 months after I got her, I panicked. I called her and they said they could help me. Which the staff did a great job! I felt like the crazy bunnie lady but they were so sweet thru it all. Ended have to get a strong antibiotic for her. But she is still with us and is healthy. Thank you for taking care of my buns❤

I felt my pet was well taken care of and the service they provided was good but I felt rushed when speaking to them. Also I was expecting a follow up call maybe the next day on how she was doing and nothing. Even after 14 days when meds were done I got no follow up. That really bothered me. Please consider doing that with pets that stay over night. Makes the owners feel like you are concerned. Especially after I paid $2700 in vet costs

I was really happy they could take my dog in right away. The doctor was awesome she explained everything. The reason I gave 3 stars is because I had to call about his discharge papers and they didn't send me everything I needed so when I called back, Jessica that answered the phone was very short with me and hung up the phone when I wasn't done talking. Very rude. Had to call back and talk to someone else and when I mentioned it to the other person that she hung up on me she didnt say anything. Bad service but great doctor.

I have an older dog that is starting to have some issues. I went in expecting a $80 examination. The doctor recommended some additional test based on her findings. The cost was going to be $350 so I agreed. After the additional test there was some medicine that my dog needed. $90. By my math that comes to $440. For the next hour the “assistant” comes out recommending several other things that needed to be done one the follow up appointment. When she was done the original teeth cleaning I wanted done was going to cost me over $2500. As is the $440 turned out to be $554 and they held my dog hostage until I paid. I’m not going back and I don’t recommend this place to anyone. They are very obviously Well schooled in high pressure, bait and switch tactics, and no answer gibberish to gouge the clients.

They are extremely thorough and will treat your pets issues like it’s their own. It can be pricey, but I’ve never left feeling like they didn’t do everything or have ever felt dissatisfied. Very kind and informative staff. They will go over pricing before they go fourth with anything which In my opinion makes them even more trustworthy. I 100% recommend. (Especially if you have an animal in need)

They saved my dogs life after she got attacked by a pit bull and are very cooperative, they actually care about the animals that they treat.
