“I cannot save a life tonight.” If I could give this place zero stars, I would, and I haven’t even had an appointment with them yet. My cat fell ill quickly during the day and I had called to get an emergency appointment that day or the next if possible, and the earliest was 4 days later. I took the appointment and called to some other vets (who were much more kind and helpful even though it is a holiday and they don’t have emergency staff). We waited a few hours and it was around 9pm, we called their emergency line they offer to speak to a vet for any guidance to get him through the night (the nearest 24/7 vet is 2 hours away) and was met with nothing but disgusting customer service. First vet told us to feed him chicken broth and had no regard for the fact my cat wasn’t moving, wouldnt eat or drink. We called again and got connected with another vet who, again, was not helpful whatsoever. When your animal is your child and they are in such a poor state, you should know how to comfort a patient even if you cannot do anything in that moment. She was so adamant that he would need surgery and she couldn’t save his life tonight because it was 10pm the day before thanksgiving. No one would even offer to see him even just to do a quick look over if he would need emergency surgery or not. She just kept mentioning that she has every right to refer us to a different vet, and we wouldve been much more understanding of that, had she not made it sound like she just doesn’t want to get out of bed and help us. We took our baby boy to Traverse City and we highly recommend their hospital- all he had was a severe UTI and was sent home with antibiotics. Took them maybe 45 minutes to find the problem and give us a solution. Today I received a call from Country Vet and was fired as a patient (I was going to cancel the appointment anyway after that treatment). My one question for them is: why do you offer an emergency after hours service when your vets don’t offer help and just tell yoy to go to the nearest 24 hour vet? Work on training your vets on customer service and compassion- something i guess they don’t teach you in vet school.

The absolute best vets in the area. So caring, and so happy I switched to them, even though it is a long drive for me.

A bit pricey, but worth it. The vets are knowledgeable, kind, and professional. I have 2 dogs and won't even consider vets that are closer or less expensive. These guys are fantastic. Four stars only because of cost.

I had the unfortunate experience of needing a vet emergently after my one year old pup found a porcupine on a hike. County Veterinary Clinic was able to see as soon as we could get him there, and all of their staff (vet techs, vets, receptionist) was friendly, professional, efficient, and concerned. They made our visit easy and my pup was calm and comfortable as quickly as possible. Thanks so much for your quick help! Pup was back to himself and splashing in the lake (leashed) the next day…. See how happy he is in the second pic :)

After spending thousands of dollars at this clinic for prior dogs they couldn’t even see my current dog who’s face was beyond swollen she couldn’t open her eyes. They didn’t want to inconvenience anyone who had a scheduled appointment while my dog was struggling to breath from how swollen her face was. They also didn’t even have a vet in the office. How are they even able to take patients?!? Absolute disgrace to mason county. If it was any one of their dogs I’m sure they would’ve made time from how urgent the situation was. Oh! And to top it off they said to call the other clinics in town and if they couldn’t get me in they’d call a vet in. When I called back to say none of the other clinics in town would help they pretty much told me too bad because the vet wasn’t coming in. All this company cares about now is money. A few vets may still care about the dogs wellness but that is not the practices motive as whole.

Thankfully she was better the next afternoon..Can not say enough about Country Vet!!

I had my brand new puppy in for urgent care. They were deceptive on pricing; they didn't inform me of all they were going to do; they would not allow me to bring my very timid puppy in, myself,; they did not access my puppy's medical records, even after I emailed them AND told them how to see them on my puppy's microchip; they told that I didn't know what I was talking about--that chips only have ID info! Also, after being there for over 1 1/2 hours, after my 35 minute drive, they didn't want me to use their bathroom! The assistant, at least, was very kind.

This is the first time I took my two dogs here. During the covid 19 pandemic, they still accommodated thier clients. The vetanarian was very helpful and informative. Since the pandemic, the staff meet the owners and dogs at their cars/trucks and bring the dogs into the building to examine them and then bring them back to the owner. Wonderful place to bring your pets and definitely will return.

My 7 year old golden retriever, sandy, had a bad infection and was on deaths doorstep. Sandy needed emergency surgery or certain death. I'm not a rich man and the surgery came to over $1500 due that day. I didnt have it. Keep in mind this is my 3 year old granddaughters best friend and a loved family member. Death was not an option. With a $500 downpayment and a promise to pay they agreed to do the surgery. Its almost 3 weeks later now and Sandy is fully recovered. I am a customer for life.

Very professional staff and so kind and compassionate. We couldn't get in to our vet to have our cat put down and they took us without hesitation, explained the procedure and let us spend time saying goodbye. I will recommend this veterinarian to everyone.

My Shadow cat was alone in a basement for 5 years when I got her. With the lockdown precautions, not having owners in with pets is standard right now. I felt that overstressing my girl would not be good. The staff took as much care with me as with Shadow to lower stress levels. Dr. Glenn has called to answer a question and just this morning to check on my progress getting pills and food into her. Staff members and the doc have gone above and beyond the usual call of duty for my 17 yo kitty. So many thanks

We were visiting Ludington for two weeks and our Bernese Mountain Dog puppy ate something that made her incredibly sick. I called five different vets and Country Veterinary Clinic was the only one who understood my panic and fit us in in-between their scheduled visits. They were fully booked, but went above & beyond to see Chloe to help her. The vet, Dr. Walquist, was incredibly kind, helpful, and treated Chloe as if she were his own puppy (you could tell that she loved him) and prescribed her medication & food that made her better within days. I can't recommend this clinic, and Dr. Walquist, enough!
