I took my cat in on Tuesday to have her checked as of why she has frequent urination. The doctor is nice and friendly, but I am overcharged. I was charged $52 for "regular office visit and exam" in addition to $42 for urinalyses, and $95 for diagnostic blood chemistry profile. For a 15 minutes visit, they charged me $194 and told me that my cat have earlier sign of kidney issue. I felt that I should NOT be charged for the office visit of $52 (to just put the cat on the scale before taking her in to have two tests). I am very disappointed.

This place has always been good to my furry family.

Had two of my puppers spayed. The appointments were kept on time, the waiting area very clean, staff very friendly, accommodating and patience in abundance. Saw persons with a variety of pets not just dogs come in and all were attended to.

Polite and clear on info. Answered all my questions.

Best care for my cats she truly is an amazing veterinarian. My cat had a hematoma on her ear and the vet did surgery on the cat ear to drain all the blood and she did a great job she also make sure that I knew how 2 take care of it as it heals she showed me what to do. She loves to help animals and you can see through the quality of care and hands on approach she uses. Thank you for helping my cat Big Kid, Ricco and all of my other cats you haven't met but if they need some help because of anything that can happen to an animal just living their best animal life well I will know right where to go I won't hesitate ever to go to this vet she is awesome

Dr. Berry is the most compassionate person I have ever met. She and the staff treated our cat like family. Dr. Berry gave us hope when we thought there was none. She is straight forward and to the point which we appreciated. Our cat went in the office in critical condition. Dr. Berry was informative and helpful. Needless to say, we will continue to see her. We highly recommend if anyone needs to see a vet and/or if you need to see a vet, to see Dr. Berry!!

Found them to be cold and unfriendly, determined to charge me for an office visit to get a prescription for my cat who just needed to be put on special food, when I had paperwork from MSU emergency confirming his condition. Not consumer friendly, at least not to me. I suppose you may have better luck if they are poised to make money off you already.

These folks are so kind and genuine... Fairly priced.

We have taken our animals to Mt. Hope Veterinary Hospital for almost 20 years now. They always do a fantastic job with our furry family members. The doctors are very kind and knowledgeable, and every single employee there is friendly and helpful.

The staff was very friendly & professional, they were a little behind schedule & apologized profusely for that. Bella had a great experience even though she needed vaccines, her remaining calm & relaxed made me calm & relaxed.

All of the staff are super nice and I feel like my dog is in really good hands here with Dr. Zarka. She is a great vet and takes the time to answer my questions and concerns without making me feel rushed. She also gives me options whenever it's appropriate and possible so I never feel like they're upselling me unnecessary products or services.

I have been taking my furry companions here since 1999. Drs. Sage, Berry and Zarka are absolutely wonderful and very competent. Dr. Zarka is especially caring, professional, and gentle. I highly recommend this practice.

My dog had to have a tumor removed from his elbow and they did a great job.

Update: The staff were also amazing with our 2 St. Bernard puppies! We're so sad we had to switch to a different vet after moving to Detroit. I took our 2 rats there and they are wonderful. They are caring and compassionate, spend time listening to my concerns and addressed them really well. After our first visit we received a card signed by every staff member at the hospital welcoming us to the practice, which I found to be an extremely classy and rather unexpected thing. I took our rats in for a check up and they didn't even charge us because the visit went to quickly. The staff is always friendly and you can tell they truly care about their patients.

We have been taking our animals there for years. We had a dog medical emergency and they treated him that day.

Be not deceived by the modest little structure. Once your beloved fur family member goes inside the building is crammed full of love, professionalism and excellent quality care. Dr. Zarka tends to be the lucky DVM who gets covered in our Siberian hair. She's gentle, caring and attentive to your pet and YOU. Their staff is kind, sweet and understanding. This place has been around a very long time. Not only do you have THEIR skills, but MSU is right down the road! Love these folks!

I have to edit my review when I found out they don't know any dog psychology. I would never take a dog there. They were anything but compassionate! They like to write nasty notes in your files. They don't understand that dogs like to protect the ones the love. I know of 2 vets that separate the protective dogs from owners making them easy to treat. They can relax when there is no one to protect. Just wanted to add that their prices are more than other Veterinarians.

IMO, both female Vets are immature and rude and have been on numerous occasions. I expect more from medical doctors of any kind. In addition, for several years my dog had medical issues that Mount Hope Vets could not adequately treat even with surgery. He was so horribly miserable with irritation in the urethra area. Finally, after some more childishness and rudeness from the two lady Vets, I moved on and went to a different Vet. Within 5 minutes at the new Vet there was a diagnosis. It was an allergy and he was given a drug called Apoquel (sp) by the new Vet and my dog never had a problem again. All that suffering by my sweet little boy. I felt and still feel guilty that I didn't go to a new Vet sooner. In addition, I always had them check his teeth to insure that everything was ok there. Within a week of one visit where I had them check his teeth, he coughed up a tooth right in front of me. I wonder how much he suffered with that too. I am making no allegations here. Make of this what you will. I have.

absolutely DO NOT take your animals here. I'm operatingmot sure what this place used to be like, but recently, procedures and prescription practices are out of date, the clinic doesn't run in any kind of consistent way, and any case that's not completely straightforward gets farmed out to a specialist or MSU AFTER they've charged you for a lot of services. I am so glad I no longer work here so that I can worn you all that this is NOT the place to take your animals for good care.

Highly recommended. Dr. Zarka is a great doctor. Also front desk staff is pleasant and cheerful.

They were on the list of the vets the Capital Area Humane Society worked with or recommended so we went there to get our new cat his shots. They were very nice and answered all of our questions and were understanding even when our cat got upset and tried to bite at them during the shot. They sent him a card around the holidays and sent a reminder to me via email when it was time for his shots again. Unfortunately we moved but they offered to be a recommendation to our new vet if we needed it. They seemed like vets who really took care in knowing their clients even if they did not visit often.

I LOVE how they sell dog licenses. Thank you for not making me go downtown! It’s greatly appreciated. :-)

Beautiful place for my dog. Melvin feels comfortable and relaxed. Vet and staff always makes sure to hold Melvin to make him feel secure and comfy. Highly recommended!!

Had an emergency with our puppy and they fit us right in. Took very good care of him.

Great vets that really care

When my Anubis was really sick and I was struggling to get a procedure done Dr. Berry was the first one to help me. I called 12 different vets and everyone referred me to MSU or said they were too busy when MSU was the one who told me to go somewhere else to get it done for a more reasonable price. I was low on funds. Dr. Berry agreed to see him and even did a few other tests to get a better idea what was wrong even though they were busy. I will never take my pets anywhere else after the kindness she showed Anubis' and I. This woman, Dr. Berry, is a wonderful vet with compassion. All the assistants in the office are extremely sweet too!

They are cutting back on their service but still wonderful people
