Caring and compassionate place to get affordable care for your cat. They stagger their hours so there is flexibility for all schedules. They are personal in the best ways.

Amazing and caring towards your pet. Very knowledgable and detail oriented. Can't say enough good things about this clinic. My only regret is not knowing about this place sooner.

This is the second time we have taken our cat here. Today shecwas spayed. The staff found some internal issues and have done what they can to resolve them. Our little girl came home and slept most of the day but seemed to be fine. Thank you for taking such good care of her!!

Dr.John Hoschek is one of the best vets I've ever encountered in my entire life not only does he hold a vast array of knowledge in treating our feline friends but he also treats them with compassion and respect. I've known Dr.Hoschek for years now and have recently had the honor of seeing him at his finest as he has brought my dear cat demon on his way back to good health.

My wife and I have been going here for 19 years. My wife 16 years before that. The clinic specializes in cats only. The care given is excellent. The only thing not provided is after hours emergency care. The doctor refers you to MSU cat clinic for that, which for us is no problem they are excellent. We have taken our cats on occasion for treatment to MSU when it was urgent. The treatment given there is top notch cutting edge care. However, it was not better than the care our cats got at Ailurophile. The facility was nicer and they had access to more advanced treatments. But that was all. At the end of it all. Both clinics came to the same diagnosis, recommendation and treatment plan. When transporting our cats to Ailurophile, our cats do not enjoy the trip. However, as soon as they see Dr. John they calm down. He is great with our kitties. Alyssa his receptionist is wonderful and kind and a joy to deal with.

!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!! ****THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR REVIEW**** THIS REVEIW IS MEANT TO DRAW THE MOST ATTENTION!! I'm writing this review on behalf of my friend Debbie who is too distraught to write. On a perfectly ordinary day 1014/20 my friend Debbie's happy healthy 5 year old cat Jules suddenly began to struggle to breathe from an object stuck in his throat. This situation quickly became obvious he was in a life threatening emergency that needed immediate medical attention. She took him to the closest veterinarian, the Ailurophile Cat Clinic for help. She was hysterical with panic stating her cat was choking to death and she needed help! Someone please help! Please help me! After hearing each plea for help the front end staff personnel repeatedly stated that he could not be seen because she did not have an appointment...Just let that soak in for a minute... She then to her to take him to a veterinarian on Lake Lansing Rd. When she arrived there she was informed there was no one there to help as they were all out to lunch. Unfortunately her precious baby boy Jules died in a parking lot after being denied the life saving treatment he so desperately needed simply because he didn't have an appointment. Jules entered her life at a time she was recovering from cancer. He quickly became her emotional support companion and buddy. After several calls to them regarding this situation she received a personal phone call from Dr. John Hoschek but instead of extending an sincere apology for his inept personnel he attempted to place blame on her for not bringing the cat inside anyway. Are you kidding me?? I can not express enough the extreme trauma and the profound sadness this has caused to all who loved Jules. I would never recommend bringing your beloved cat here for any reason.

My cousin’s beloved cat was choking. Three people trying to save him. They rushed him to this Clinic, and the refused to help because they didn’t gave a appointment. Shame on them for not doing do diligence to save this beautiful baby. They could have at least acted like they cared. Three times they were turned away. The cat died. I’m beyond outraged.

Terrific experience! 10/10! The veterinarian knew his stuff and was great with our cat, Chepito. I was also surprised at how reasonably priced it was. We took our other cat (Chasca) to a different clinic previously and paid over $300 for just a check-up and some antibiotics. This clinic did a check-up, provided vaccinations, antibiotics, and performed ear surgery keeping Chepito over night(!!!!) and it was only $370! The surgery was a great success and Chepito is happy and back to his normal self within a day. If you have a feline friend, I strongly recommend you visit the Ailurophile Cat Clinic if needed!

Dr. John Hoschek of Ailurophile loves cats, it seems to me. Our family has taken our cats to him for years. The cats have gotten careful, gentle care. During the examination, Dr. Hoschek talks more to the cats than he does to us, but he then gives us a thorough explanation of any medical issues and offers options for treatment and price ranges. In some ways, he and his Clinic may seem unconventional (maybe it's because no dogs are there), and our cats seem to like it.

The doctor and staff treat our cats like family and never push any treatments or meds they don't feel necessary. The fact they also discourage declawing ($$$) also says a lot about their professional integrity.

The only vet we trust our cats to.

While the office is not great, and it is very annoying how rarely the phone is ever answered, I'm continually impressed at the thoroughness of the exams and level of care provided to my cats when they have to go to the vet.

Extremely peaceful interior, with a few (friendly!) cats the clinics own running around. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the veterinarian loves cats.

Very quiet and calm environment which is great for older cats. Very friendly, knowledgable staff and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Will definitely continue going here with all of ours cats. Loved it. (They can be slightly difficult to get through to but worth the small hassle for great care.)

Overall horrible experience. We called in 3 weeks prior to an appointment to get our kitties front and back claws removed. The vet agreed and gave us a price range. We brought our little kitty in and when we picked him up and paid, they only took the front claws out without telling us!!! I never saw the vet in both times I was there and they have the worst hours every time I try to call no one answers so we had no idea what to do. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KITTYS HERE.

Dr. John Hoschek at Ailurophile cares so much about his cat patients. My older kitty Cooper was having urinary issues and I was really worried about him. I called Ailurophile and got in the same day. The receptionist was lovely and took us right to a private room. We saw Dr. Hoschek and he was so gentle and loving with Mr. Coop. Cooper hates car rides and leaving the house all together, so he is always a hot mess at the vet. Dr. Hoschek eased his anxiety immediately. The care and service we received were unparalleled, especially for an extremely reasonable price. I will be returning to Ailurophile in the future.
