We've been taking our animals to Dr. Heaton for 42 years. Dreading the day he will retire. He always knows the problem..almost immediately. We've taken our pets to other, younger vets ...(when he was out of town) who just said..well it could be this, it could be that. Trial and error. Dr. Heaton always knows. I'll take a gruff, bedside manor with excellent knowledge over super friendly along with hundreds of dollars of expensive tests, any day. Do you smile all day and never get irritable? Give the man a break!

Yes, I've been going to Genesee veterinary hospital for over 30 years. Dr. Hylan Heaton is the best vet in Genesee county. I've been to other vets, no comparison.He loves all animals. I've had 5 dogs that he treated. I recommend him to all pet owners.I give him a 10 being the the best.!!!????????

My family has been going to Dr. Heaton for years and so will I from now on with my own dog.

This vet was extremely rude and not at all professional. I took my 3 year old British bulldog, Nyla, here for she was having serious dietary problems. The man who assisted Nyla handled her very poorly without proper care, when I intervened he scolded me, saying I had no clue what I was talking about while still holding her down in an awkward position keeping me away from her. At that point I couldn’t believe what I was dealing with, I took Nyla back and left immediately, he told me to never come back and I surely never will. Do not go to this veterinary hospital.

Just a poor human being with no compassion. Put my sister's dog down with out sedating her prior. Also Aimee about putting the dough in the freezer while she was still on the table. Just a bad person for the job in my opinion.

Scared dog snapped at the vet who put a tourniquet on a front leg and pulled it towards him. He shoved the dog away and said the dog should be put down. Sorry. Not happening. Found a new vet

Unfortunately my 14 year old lab become very ill while I was on vacation and my mother (who has cared for my dog when necessary) was unable to get her into her own veterinary office due to it being closed. My mother attempted to reach out to this veterinarian for assistance and was told to take her (my dog) to animal control. This was already a stressful situation and my mother and my dog did not deserve to be treated like that while trying to get assistance for my dog. The vet did not even examine her or try to do anything to assist the situation. I would steer clear of this place

Doctor is very rude and kinda mean to people.

So far I like everything about the place. No waiting and right to the point. Will update how the dog is doing in 7 days. Everything is good. This is now our go to Vet. Simple answers. Usually not busy.

This is the rudest vet I’ve ever met. Me and my mom took my cat Mushu up to get an inquiry on his sinuses because of an issue that kept resurfacing. He yelled and was very disrespectful towards my mother and I. He told us it was our last visit because we were only looking for cheap prices. This was all said to us before we could even explain what was wrong with Mushu. We were going to him to get his opinion before going somewhere else. He was extremely rough with Mushu and the way he handled him was very unprofessional. While he stood there and continued to disrespect me and my mother he kept the thermometer in my cats rear end which was not okay. I will not be returning here. I’m very big on respect and this man is atrocious for the way he acted towards my family. I’ve never met a more rude and unprofessional veterinarian in my life.

Can't thank this place enough! Saved my cat's life! Very affordable and worked with me on the time, I called close to closing but they stayed to help us, Thank you so much!

Dr Heaton is one of the best!

Worst experience ever! Had my very old dog put down here and he was the rudest person ever. First denied us his service because he was closing in an hour, then was very rough with our fragile old dog, he also took a phone call in the middle of the procedure after he had gotten some of the meds in her already. Poor thing was suffering bad. He has absolutely no bed side manner and no compassion towards anyone (not even the animals). While adopting our next dog he tols adoption center that we are unfit to adopt because we made our dog suffer by not bringing her in to be put down sooner. If you don't want to make your pets suffer while on their death bed anymore than they need to, tjen domt bring your precious animals here!

Called today to make an appointment, the response I had was they can take only existing clients, so I asked how can I be a client and the response was "go elsewhere" terrible way to do business. will never even consider this place

There is not a more caring or thorough veterinarian around. Dr. Heaton is absolutely the best.

He has to retire my mom is stressing about losing another part of my dad through him for they were friends!

Great experience with our new kitty Update to 6/4/2020. Had to take our lil dog in that is 12, got her groomed somewhere else and when I picked her up her eyes were half shut. After a nap they eye glued shut. Dr Heaton did a great exam in her. And first to tell me she has a birth defect.

Not helpful. I asked for an appointment, and he says "you'd have find a different veterinarian. Good luck to you" rather than proposing a solution

Great staff and Doctors. They are inexpensive and very knowledgeable.

Dr. Heaton took such good care of our fur baby after he did reconstructive surgery on her knee. He took her home with him so she wouldn't be scared and alone. Found out he also made her scrambled eggs for breakfast lol. Thank you for your compassion

Dr. Heaton is the best. Always tries his best to figure out the problem and the best solution. Takes good care of all animals. I’ve brought him many and his prices are always very fair! Highly recommend dr. Heaton always for all your animals????

The doc is great has been treating my dog with compassion.

The Dr. Is very knowledgeable. Great great doctor! Very good prices, and very good surgeon. Very nice man. Took my kitty to him and was very pleased of how he was treated, and how he explained what he would be doing. Is like here in flint we have another Dr. Pol. Many years of experience under his belt, and I trust him fully with all my pets. I'll be taking all my pets to him as long as he stays in veterinarian medicine.
