I have taken my pets here since I was a kid. They are always gentle and kind. They are also great about getting appointments for my pets quickly.

Two times they have got our dogs in quickly and able to treat them both with good results. They are very well run Clinic with kind employees. Our old vet retired and recommended animal aid south and we are glad to be able to rely on them.

Absolutely top notch! Lots to bark about with Animal Aid Clinic South! They're very kind, caring, friendly, and organized. They truly care about, and for their clients, those with tails and those without!!

After a terrible experience with a previous vet in New Carlisle, this clinic honestly came to the rescue. They were able to squeeze my cat in for an appointment and surgical consultation. We had been struggling with teeth problems for awhile so I was grateful they could fit me in. The doctor explained the problem, and all of my options very thoroughly so there was no confusion. We were able to schedule a surgical appointment shortly after. Now my cat is pain free, eating regularly, and playing with his brother. I am extremely grateful and relieved. I would definitely recommend this clinic to others.

My dog swallowed an earring????????‍♀️ my regular vet told me I needed to find a vet that had an endoscope. I called about 20 different places and no one was able to fit Us in or had the equipment we needed. I called here and they were able to fit Us in quickly. They quoted me $1,000 over the phone. After the veterinarian looked at my puppy he did not overcharge me or try to to do procedures that were unnecessary. He did what was best for my dog. I left paying $90 and my dog is perfectly healthy! I could not recommend this place more!!!! From the ladies at the front desk, to the vet techs to the veterinarian himself they could not have been nicer or more accommodating! Thank you ❣️

I love clinic South. They take such good care of my Pixie. She tends to be a little bit aggressive sometimes but when we get there she loves everyone. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their animals as much as I do

IF I COULD GIVE A MINUS 1000 OR MORE STAR RATING I WOULD!!!! Our 3 yr old, never sick a day in her life, Beautiful Beagle Emily was treated/evaluated by Dr. Rick Nelson on Monday 10/18/21. It was our very first visit to Animal aid So. after our regular vet retired. Dr. Nelson diagnosed Emily as having kennel cough. The treatment recommendation after the Kennel cough diagnosis was to do nothing, and if her symptoms persisted or worsened to call and or bring her back. On Thursday 10/21, we called (Animal aid) because the symptoms indeed appeared to worsen and they prescribed clavox which we picked up and gave to Emily. By the next day (Friday 10/22) after 2 doses of clavox and further worsening of Emily’s symptoms, her breathing and coughing became even more worrisome, so we called and took her back to Animal aid, where we were told she would be a drop off…a short time later they called and said she had suffered a seizure and it was recommended that she be transferred to an animal hospital for stabilization and 24 care. Contemplating a drive to an Emergency clinic, I inquired about mobile oxygen, and while they agreed it was a great idea, I had to arrange it for myself because Animal aid had never done it before. (However the medical supply company said many vet. Practices locally use them all the time) We picked Emily up and took her to an Emergency Hospital in Mishawaka, IN (10/22) where we were told that she had a severe case of pneumonia and was dehydrated with elevated kidney values. She responded well to treatment at the hospital, and was subsequently discharged early Sunday morning 10/24. She seemed to be doing well for us at home until Tuesday evening (Oct. 26th) around 7p.m. When her symptoms (coughing & trouble breathing returned and rapidly increased in severity through the evening and into the morning)!! We decided that we would not be taking her back to Animal Aid clinic So. in Elkhart and the Animal hospital was closed so we found another vet and went elsewhere on the morning of 10/26. Unfortunately, despite our very best efforts our sweet Emily deteriorated very rapidly and passed away late Wed evening/Thur. Morning around 12:50pm. We are beyond heartbroken and of the opinion that had Dr. Nelson cared as much about our beloved pet, as he did about hearing himself talk, his own ego and the stories of his brilliance that he uses to awe his pet owners, our sweet 3 yr old Emily would be alive today. Why he didn’t put her on an Antibiotic day one, we won’t ever know, but please…..DON’T MAKE THE MISTAKE WE DID!!!

amazing staff! I own a pittbull who is the biggest baby but most people are still way wary to treat her cuz of her breed but not Dr Nelson. He's an amazing vet who holds no prejudice against this breed also he's a great vet and person to deal with. I highly recommend!

When I first started going there, they use to be so helpful. If I had a serious concern about my animal, they would always make time to check her. Now you have to wait at least a month or two before getting any help. Now I am considering switching vets!

I had called 4 other clinics that were closer to me before I called these folks. I initially got the same answer, we are booked up and cannot take in another patient. I told the lady that my cat had two holes in him and needed some attention so who might be able to help me. She asked if I could bring the cat in soon. Told her I could. Got there and the same lady took my cat to the back for examination. The cat actually had three puncture wounds which were infected and inflamed. She explained that they would cut away the necrotic tissue, give him some antibiotics, install a drain for the infection, and sew him up. They were able to work him in their busy schedule, but he would have to stay overnight. The place was very busy. The doctor called me to tell be that the cat would recover. She explained what she had done to fix him up and I could come to pick him up. I don't know what people expect as I read some other negative reviews and certainly disagree with them. These people were fantastic to me and to my cat. He has healed up very well and is his old self again. I have nothing but praise and good things to say about the treatment and service I received from all the people at Animal Aid Clinic South.

They should be closed down if privately owned. If they aren't they should be fired and replaces.

Someone from this clinic put the wrong medication in a prescription bottle for a patient and the poor dog ended up passing away. No accountability and no response to the owner for the mistake the clinic made. I’ve never been here with my pets but you can bet I never will.

Dog has diabetes. My fridge died last night and I tried to see if they would honor another vets prescription so I could drive over there and simply purchase it, they refused. Will never bring any animal there nor will I ever calm them. callous is one great word that describes them

Prescribed my girlfriends dog the wrong medication. Two days after taking it her dog died. When trying to confront the vet to talk about it she wouldn’t even come out to talk to her and showed no remorse towards the whole situation. Do yourself a favor and stay away from here for the sake of your animals well-being

This place gave a dog the wrong prescription and ended up killing the dog. Can’t own up to their mistake and deleted their Facebook page after many reviews of similar things. Showed no remorse for the owner either.

Because of their knowledge found through my own experience with one of my pets who failed to get diagnosed after a year at another doctor and within five minutes Dr Nelson identified the issue. I will never go anywhere else.

Went in for a wellness exam APPOINTMENT and called ahead of time letting a tech know I was concerned about another ACL tear the day before . Tech stated no problem . Arrived and called from parking lot as my dog is anti social so I prefer to wait outside till room is ready no problem . Registration on the phone they wanted me to get more things and I declined . Got right in and they tried talking me into updating his shots that he wasn’t due for till December so I would not have to come back in as the vet was going to be awhile and I declined . Twice I asked for the vet and twice the subject was changed . Given heartworm meds that will last till December and some pain pills for as needed and discharged. This office is all about the $$$$ and we will not be back . Yes my dog was barking and carrying on but the meds they prescribed for that didn’t work as they made him lethargic and have diarrhea but my concerns were dismissed as again it wasn’t making them $$$$$ . I have spent thousands on my dog as he is my family and they just don’t care .
