JPs grooming spa uses top quality dog shampoo! My dog loves the Natures Specialties Berry shampoo. It’s non-toxic and safe for my fur baby. She smells amazing after a bath with it. JPs has the cutest dog clothes in their boutique. I bought a Jean skirt and top for my teacup Maltese and she looks like a fashionista.

I have been with JP for 5 years. Have tried Many of the groomers in the area and JP is the best. My Maltese, Ranger, is happy when going for a grooming. Ken is very affectionate with my dog and I trust him. He has the dog done quickly and Is efficient in his Buisness. Great experience every time.

At first I thought JP’s was good and I liked the one groomer, I think her name was Jen. However each time I took my dog she started to shake the minute she knew where we were going. The VERY last time I was greeted at the door by Ken angrily telling me the grooming was going to be more because Sadie was matted, which I thought unusual because Sadie has relatively short hair and I took her every four weeks. The mat was behind the ear and was still there which explains a lot. Janet and the groomer both came out but said nothing. At that point I realized Sadie had been mistreated. I paid and left never to return. It has been a long process to get my dog to trust another groomer but she finally has however Sadie will not let anyone come near here face. The vet she has always gone to noticed this change and feel it is because someone abused her. That abuse happened at JP’s because she was fine before I took her there for grooming. I wasn’t going to write but ironically I met a former GP groomer and she said Ken is very mean to the dogs. I have noticed the Help Wanted sign seems to be permanent. All this is too bad because I did like his wife’s food store.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The owners of this business are extremely rude to both customers and workers and are known to lose their temper at the drop of a hat. I couldn't believe the way they talk to people and are still in business. They also seem to have a permanent "we're hiring" sign in the window, probably because they treat their staff like trash and go through their employees like garbage. Do not subject yourself to these jerks and take your business elsewhere

JP's LOST our dog Teddy while he was in for a groom. The owner Ken helped us look for a while then had to leave as it was a Saturday. We spent the next nine hours looking for him and found him in a sewer with the help of friends, Bloomfield Hills Police and Fire. The true test of someone is what they do when the chips are down and in this case JP's failed miserably. They handled this horribly. Zero compassion I really wonder what goes on at JP's when the owners leave their dogs here. Now, when ever we take our dog in for a trim trembles uncontrollably. DO NOT GO HERE.

So our old groomer changed professions and we ended up here at JP's Grooming Spa in good ole Bloomfield Hills. Minutes from the house, it's all good right? I dropped off our pooch with Ken at the shop at 9:50am. Still using index cards for new customers but whatever. Not so friendly but maybe he's having a bad day. He said he would call when our pooch is ready. I call him pooch, he's an important part of our family. He's one of us. At 1:37pm Ken calls and our pooch is ready. I mention to him that I'd be by at 3pm that day to pick him up. His exact words "I don't run a dog babysitting business. You need to be here in 30 minutes." Ok, well, that's news to me. Not a problem but this is the first time I'm hearing of this. Maybe he should have shared that with me as a new customer. So in 15 minutes I stop bey to pick up my pooch. Ken makes a half-assed remark saying "I hope you didn't take that wrong, I get people in here all of the time that are playing golf or going to the movies. I can't go home until the last dog leaves. He couldn't even bring himself to say "Thank you". Well I did take that wrong. What an A**. If he treats people like this how about our beloved pooches? So the bottom line is this. It was a decent grooming. The price was fair. But Ken is a horrible people person. I deleted his contact info on my phone before I left his shop. It was the worst experience I've had with a dog groomer.

The best - owner is sweet, great staff, furry babies are well treated and look amazing every time! Plus apparel and accessories to spoil them even more ☺

Great selection of dog clothes and supplies. Wonder if his grocery, Dog Haus, has treats for dogs with allergies.

JP's Grooming is fantastic! They squeezed an appointment in for me and executed one of the more difficult haircuts on my Pomeranian amazingly. I also recommend going next door to Maesto's Dog Haus for your natural food and treat needs. :)

Janet and Ken do a fantastic job working with our dog Sylvester (who is not the best behaved when it comes to grooming!) It is a clean, pleasant environment. I always recommend them when I come across people in need of dog grooming.

What I like best about JP's is my dog goes in wagging her tail and that say's it all! The owners and staff are friendly, responsible people who I trust and they always do a wonderful job grooming. My dog is also finished in a timely fashion so I don't have to worry that shes just sitting in a cage and that's important to me. Their homemade treats are a big hit as well! I would highly recommend JP's to anyone who is looking for an experienced, caring groomer who will treat your pet like their own!
