Great Staff! Removed a bullet from one of my dog's necks after being shot in the head after a home invasion and robbery in the August 2015 time frame and lived until January 2020. High quality and won't be forgotten! !

We just got a new puppy. We used to see Dr. Fairbairn worth our last dog. She was the best vet we ever had. We're hoping for many years of very visits (less rather than more, knock on wood), but if our new pup needs care, he couldn't be in better hands and we love this facility! The vet techs are professional and attentive.

We recently had to put our dog down and Dr. Goodman was so attentive, patient, empathetic and supportive throughout the whole process. There was an evening I had a non-urgent question, so I emailed the practice and she called me back that night! We felt very supported and seen. We will be continuing with Deporre and Dr. Goodman indefinitely, I can't speak highly enough of them. Even with any necessary vaccines, etc, they were able to get me in in a timely manner and are very upfront about what they are unable to do.

Everyone at Deporre Veterinary Hospital from the techs to the veterinary Dr.s are true professionals. I have a Veterinary Hospital 5 minutes from my house, yet I'll drive the the 35 minutes it takes for me to get Abby to DePorre. It's worth it to me. I was with our other vet for over 12 years, but we like DePorre a lot better! I would highly recommend DePorre to anyone with pets, they truly care and go the extra mile with their customers.

I took my dog in for a skin tag removal twice and no results from neither procedures. My family and I wasted our money and will not be coming back here.

My cat has always had a hard time with the vet. We went to DePorre because we were seeking an international health certificate for our move to Germany. I was very nervous about my cat's behavior during the exam, but Dr. Goodman did an excellent job. Samoa had her quick and painless exam done (which is more than I could say for one of her previous vets), and we were on our way quickly with medication for the plane and information about the status of the paperwork. I would definitely go to DePorre again.

Me and my dog both LOVE DePorre. (My cats... Not so much. But they are cats) But my dog gets so excited whenever we go. He has been going to to DePorre since he was 6 weeks. His primary Doctor is Dr. DeHondt. He has been great with Desmond. All of our visits were curbside so I was scared letting my little guy go in alone but there was no need for that. Everytime we spoke on the phone he sounded so genuinely happy I knew he was in good hands. We also had a problem during covid when everyone in my house was quarantined and unable to come in, but Desmond had a gnarly eye infection. Dr. Goodman was kind enough to help us out by doing a consult over email and I was able to have a friend pick it up! Desmond also started developing some anxiety issues, and Dr. Packard has been very helpful with coaching me along some training tips and making sure he stays a happy boy. It makes sense that she handles behavioral stuff because she is also the doctor for my cats and they are all about showing many behaviors at the vet haha We've been coming to Deporre for many years and we will continue to. To the people of Deporre- thanks for everything you do! Keep it up!

After having had my pets as patients here for 5 years, I am utterly disappointed in the services. Had a sickly animal, called in to try to get him seen. Understand that they are fully booked and it is covid complications times, but they said "that's not how we do business." The reason people stay with a vet is because you make my pets feel like your family. The options given (emergency vet) said that symptoms did not warrant an emergency visit and we would be waiting outside for hours. I'm taking my pets out of this overrated clinic and actually talked to two people today at Chez Pierre et Genevieve that had pets there and went somewhere else. Your egos will catch up to you.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Deporre. Sylvia runs the grooming area and is so wonderful handling a difficult job. Janice is Sophie's groomer who does an outstanding job working a lost art. The medical team is outstanding. I always feel comfortable and secure with the Doctors. The assistants and hard working staff that picks the pets up in our vehicles are so great too. Thank you all Depore you are first responders who did a tremendous job in taking care of us. Much appreciation, Andrea and Sophie

UPDATE: We had our scheduled grooming appointment and I was told my dog was due for vaccinations. I said he gets anxious when vaccinated (just like kids!), so it would be best to hold off for a separate appointment or do the bare minimum. He was due TO THE DAY for bordatella, so clearly didn't have boardatella, and I said to please hold off as it would hamper any grooming attempt. Deporre said they would make a note. I further explain they should at least groom first and not make the vaccination a priority as he is literally just due for the vaccination. I drop my dog off for grooming after following instructions to give him trazadone last night and this morning - he wouldn't even walk. I talk to the groomer and say I just need his muzzle cut/shaved, and his belly, everything else just a trim because he is fine. I get a call a little while later they were unsuccessful, so I go to pick him up. They inform me I owe money for the vaccination (!). Are you kidding me? I specifically said do not vaccinate OR, do the grooming first so he wouldn't be anxious or nervous. But, they gave him a shot then wondered why he was so jittery. Literally amazing (in the worst way). They shaved his tail and took a chunk of fur off his face. I can't even make this up. Maybe it was a blessing because I think they were going for a full shave, and if you've ever seen a goldendoodle fully shaved, it's not a good look. Backstory: They cancelled a grooming appointment I had for my dog, never called to tell me it was cancelled. On top of that, told me to get my dog groomed elsewhere. He is a 14 year old goldendoodle who gets nervous but has been going to them for YEARS and we always used the same groomer. Good luck seeing Janice! Next: Deporre called and we have been scheduled with a groomer who is good with older dogs.

Thank you Sally White for the review, I was thinking about bringing my dog here for dental surgery and you helped me decide a stiff NO

DePorre is simply the best veterinary office around. They treat my dogs with so much care and respect that my dogs aren’t nervous at all when they have to go in. They always ensure you know all options if there is a need for any procedures or medicines and they are so wonderful with follow up. I’m so thankful to the entire staff at DePorre.

It would be very hard to overstate how good these people are. They clearly love animals as well as care for them with compassion and expertise. Our dog lived to the very maximum possible for the breed, and when she needed to be taken out of her pain our vet took the case even though he was not scheduled for that day, he just felt it was his job to be with his patient even to the end. He was very kind and helpful to us in this hard time as well. I have no doubt Maggie lived longer and better because of the care she received here. You should bring your pet her too. If you care, they have an attached grooming facility too. They also carry a wide selection of dog food as well as any medicine your pet may need. Just the best and at a fair price to boot.

I was very disappointed in my puppy’s curbside visit today. Doctor and vet assistant don’t know what to do with a 10 month old corgi puppy and requested to give him sedated medication and refused to do blood test appointment. Vet assistant did not want to help puppy to get in the car and requested me to do it. I’ve never had like this service with previous our dogs. So sad.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My 13 year old cat Whipple was having severe tooth decay in his left canine and had a dental surgery scheduled for mid February. But after showing signs of severe pain, Dr. Corey and the team took him in the next day. They were very responsive throughout the day and helped ease my worries about bringing a senior cat in for surgery His quality of life has increased dramatically already. He is eating well, sleeping, and is showing little signs of pain. I can’t thank Dr. Corey and her team enough for their hard work and dedication for these animals. I would recommend them to anybody needing a dental cleaning.

We definitely made the right decision to switch to DePorre Veterinary Hospital to care for our dog who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. After registration, we were directed to Dr. Lewis who is both very proficient and professional. He immediately made contact with us after his initial exam and continues to keep us informed and to answer any questions. It is very hard to establish a relationship during COVID but he has made us very comfortable leaving our dog in his care.

I have had an outstanding experience with DePorre Veterinary Hospital since the 1970's with my 5 poodles. Highly skilled physicians, technicians and office staff. Deporre Hospital environment was consistently friendly, efficient, helpful and pristine

I want to give huge thanks to all the staff at DePorre Veterinary Hospital staff members. You are one of the best group of individuals I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past 16 years. Your customer service is exceptional - calling to confirm appointments, answering endless questions with patience and professionalism, following up on results and recommendations in an expeditious manner, and for loving my dogs!! Janice in the grooming department gets a special Shout-out from CeCe!! Thank you again!!

Our Labradoodle (Rosie) has been a patient since here since she was 8 weeks old. Her first visit was with Dr. Lewis. Since her visit she has also been seen by other DePorre vets, and loves every one of them. Every Vet treats her as if she was their own . She is now Ten years old and still acts like a puppy, due to the excellent medical care she has been given , and is still receiving. She receives routine exams and blood tests. It was discovered that she has a B-12 deficiency, and is receiving B-12 injections every two weeks along with a specialized diet. She is continually being monitored for her condition here at DePorre. The DePorre vets, through their excellent medical knowledge of treatment have kept Rosie healthy and active for all these years. All the Doctors and staff are kind, loving and care deeply for the pets under their care. It was great delight that they now have a Grooming practice. This is my original review that I wrote when R osie 8 years old, and everything I stated originally applies to today also. During this Pandemic everyone is doing a heroic job of caring for the pets. Looking for a Vet. practice. You can do no better than DePorre Steve

Everyone at DePorre, especially Dr. Corey Gut, provides excellent care and compassion for our dogs. Whether routine or emergency visits, they are punctual, extremely knowledgeable and always take the time necessary to present all options of treatment, including homeopathic options. Their facility is immaculate. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We’ve been going there for 10 years and can’t say enough positive things about the entire practice!

Dr. Corey and her team are truly the best. Everyone has been so passionate and caring with our dog (he can be very feisty). You can tell that the entire team really loves what they do. I am so thankful to have found such a wonderful Vet.

I would highly advise against going to DePorre. Pierre DePorre killed my healthy 13 year old cat. I took my sweet Baxter in for a teeth cleaning, and DePorre pulled a tooth. He was given an antibiotic called Convenia. By the next day, Baxter still had not seemed to have recovered from the anesthesia, so I started investigating on the web. Do yourself and your pet a favor and Google it. It stays in the body for more than 100 days, so if your pet has a reaction, good-bye. I watched him die for 17 days. This drug should not be used except for a feral cat that cannot be given antibiotics on a daily basis. There are plenty of antibiotics that can be used that could be stopped in time if the pet has a reaction. DePorre would do nothing to help him when I took him back in. He denied it was the drug even though the drug fact sheet states that the anesthetic DePorre gave him was contraindicated with the use of Convenia. I took Baxter to Oakland Veterinary Referral Services. They also denied it was the drug. Please know that specialists depend on the referral of vets, and they will do everything to protect them. The day after Baxer died, DePorre left a message on my answering machine saying he was sorry to hear that Baxter died from liver cancer. He KNEW he didn't die from liver cancer. A couple of months later, I called the FDA to file an adverse drug reaction report. I was told that one had already been filed. Yep! DePorre had already filed an adverse drug reaction report. So, this is a vet that will kill your pet and then lie to you about it. Not only will you then have to suffer the devastation of a lost pet (and in my case, his litter mate had to also suffer his loss), but there is nothing you can do about it. Michigan law states that pets are nothing but property, so vets cannot be held accountable for malpractice. This law needs to be changed as it has been in many states. Stay away from DePorre if you value the life of your pet, and you want a vet that will be honest with you.

This is an update to my previous post and a reply to DePorre's response... Wow! Your dishonesty has taken on a new level. Of course, his liver tests were bad. You poisoned him with Convenia! Many of us don’t have the medical background of a vet, but we are smart enough to know that the liver metabolizes drugs and detoxifies chemicals. Baxter had the bloodwork done that you require prior to anesthesia. His bloodwork was fine. If he had liver problems, you wouldn’t have done the teeth cleaning. How do you explain that? How do you explain DePorre filing an Adverse Drug Reaction Report with the FDA? Anyone with a pet considering this vet should take a good look at this pathetic, disgusting attempt to cover up lies with more lies. Sickening.

My toy poodle has been seeing Dr. Corey since he was a baby. She is patient, available, educational, and great with him. I feel that he is in good hands when he is at Deporre for any reason. My dog has seen a number of other vets also at this location and I have been happy with all of them. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Deporre.

Great clinic!!! They take care of my dog and very helpful. I am only giving it a 4 star because of the pandemic. I just adopted a puppy and wanted to go in the room with him wearing a mask of course. But I was told to wait in my car and they take him away. It's like having a child and telling you we take your kid and you can't come in with them. That really upset me.

We had our dog there for spaying. They accidentally tore a Fallopian tube. While trying to fix it with a tourniquet they accidentally put the tourniquet also on the ureter. The hospital didn’t schedule any folllow up checks after this malpractice. A few days later the dog started trying to urinate ten to fifteen times after another. We realized tHat something is wrong and brought her to a different hospital where an emergency surgery was conducted. She got a stent which will be taken out in three month if everything goes well. The dog was also diagnosed with Klebsiella bladder infection which is a multiresistente bacteria typically found in hospitals. We now also have to inject antibiotics twice a day for three weeks. When asking one of the owners for support regarding carpet cleaning and dog sitter as we couldn’t leave her alone he referred us to their liability attorneys. Needless to say that this was the worst experience ever and our disappointment and frustration is enormous.

We took our cat Luigi in yesterday, he had an eye infection. The technician came out to the car and took Luigi in for his exam. The service went quick and they provided a thorough explanation of his symptoms. We have been giving him eye drops and he seems to be improving. Great service, I would recommend Deporre to any pet owner.
