Nice receptionist. That’s the only positive thing I can say. It’s wildly expensive. They pressure to do excessive tests. The attitude of the vets is poor. I have found this to be pretty much the norm in Ann Arbor. I also live half time in a small town in Florida where the contrast in service and attitude is markedly better. The pandemic seems to have become an excuse for higher prices, poor service and poor quality in Ann Arbor vet care in general.

Everyone on staff at Westarbor is very friendly, kind and good at what they do. I feel like I get the level of attention I need as the "human customer" and my dogs also get the attention they need as "primary customer". I also appreciate that the clinic is AAHA approved. Happy to recommend Westarbor Animal Hospital!

Highly recommend!!! I took my two fur babies Daisy & Chiquis for their dental procedures in July 2020. Unfortunately, I couldn’t be there for my girls per the pandemic, but the the staff was amazing with keeping me updated with calls and text msgs. every step of the way.it was very appreciated! My girls are happier then ever. Daisy has even started happy barking (if that’s a thing). Thank very much Westarbor Animal Hospital!!!

They were packed, because of covid, we couldn't go in with our dog. But they called and kept communicating with us. We feel like they gave our senior dog the best care!! We definitely recommend them. Caring staff.

My pit bull has vet anxiety and starts shaking before we even get in the door. They are so good with her and offer her blankets and treats and even get down in the floor with her to comfort her. Most genuine compassionate place I have found.

A good vet with professional staff but at the higher end of the price range. My only complaint is that they don't work with online pet pharmacies and instead like to charge over triple what you could get online for the same medications.

The staff is amazing and I got taken back promptly, but the waiting time in the room to pay/checkout was way too long after working a 10 hour day. Otherwise my experiences have been great.

Have been very kind, compassionate, and they respected my goals for treatment for my pets. Also made it very easy to transfer ownership and give me past treatment history for a pet I brought home.

I absolutely love Westarbor! The staff is always friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They take amazing care of our shih tzu and treat her like family. They are great about following up after appointments to ensure there were no concerns with vaccinations, etc...I highly recommend Westarbor!

Worst experience with a vet hospital in my life. Our cats tail got crushed and they said he needed it amputated and was going to cost $700. Didnt have the money right away so they wrapped it up and sent him home. Told us that we needed 300 down for the surgery, so we got a GoFundMe going and others donated with cash so now we had the 300 down for it cash and the rest we were waiting for GoFundMe to deposit and they tell us unless we have the full payment they cant take him in and they turned us away. Every time we call up there the information changes, for two days now our cat has had to wait and they just keep running us around. We finally found another hospital for him though so thx for nothing.

Over the past few years my husband and I have been bringing our dog Ozzy here. Staff is always friendly and treat your dog as if he were their own. We always feel so welcome. We have seen all the docs at some point so far and they are all honest, patient, and are great communicators! Even with the pandemic ongoing they came up with a system that works efficiently so pets can be seen quickly. The docs and staff never seem rushed or stressed. It is always a pleasure to bring Oz in. I wish they saw human patients!!! Haha

Westarbor has been providing care for my pets for over 30 years. They have always received wonderful care. The care has only gotten better over the years. The doctors, vet techs, and staff are professional and personable. All take the time and ensure that I understand the diagnoses and recommended care. I have had both dogs and cats under their care. I feel very confident in the care they receive at Westarbor and highly recommend them!

Overall experience with Westarbor: not terrible, but I will look for another facility to take my pets to in the future. The veterinarian was new to Westarbor, and she was polite and seemed to genuinely care about the health of my cat. However, I think Westarbor has issues that make me question continuing to bring my pets there. I brought my cat in under suspicion of him having a urinary tract infection. This was my first visit to Westarbor. I arrived at my appointment time, parked in a numbered spot, and called the number on the sign. After being on hold for about 10 minutes, I hung up and texted the second number. I then called back and finally got someone on the phone to tell them I was here. In total, I waited 2.5 hours to get a basic exam, a urine sample collected, and a pain medicine injection. I spoke to 3-4 different people throughout the visit, which was a negative experience since I had to constantly restate why I was here and what issues my cat was having. I gave all of this history when I made the appointment, so my thought was that the veterinarian would just confirm with me the reason for the visit and move on. We decided to take a urine sample to test for bacteria, and then the vet recommended some pain medication. She asked me if I wanted her to tell me the price of different pain medications before she administered them, which I said yes to. My cat was not showing signs of immediate pain, and was acting normally apart from some discomfort when urinating. I did not feel that he needed pain medication immediately, but I did want to get a few pills for him in case he experienced pain later on. I then got a call from the billing department giving me a total of $400+ and asking how I wanted to pay. I then learned that not only had my pet been administered pain medication via injection, it was much more expensive than I was expecting. I was also being billed $50+ for an 8lb bag of special cat food (that did not contain any medication, just that is was a special blend to further dilute urine.) This contradicted what I was expecting, since I was not told beforehand how much the medication would cost, what kind it was, how it was going to be administered, and how long it would last for. It was simply injected into my pet without my consent. I voiced my concerns over their internal processes to the person I was speaking to, and she apologized, but I was still on the hook to pay for the medication and to deal with my now anxious and drowsy cat. I asked them to remove the expensive food from my bill and paid the rest, still over a $400 bill. I had this same exact procedure done a year ago (basic exam, urine culture, pain injection, urine culture results, antibiotic injection) and it took about an hour for the first visit, and 20 minutes for the second visit. The total cost was less than $200.
