The doctors at Switzer are phenomenal! Very knowledgeable, caring, and friendly people. My puppy loves everyone there!

My wife and I have had dogs since I was in graduate school at Harvard over 40 years ago. We have never been to a clinic as professional as this one. They gave us a written plan of care that included a cost estimate. They explained their treatment in great detail both before and after the surgeries. Their staff is equally knowledgeable and polite. We tgreatly appreciate the care that they have given our two rescue dogs.

Called not being established in this area yet got an after hours call back promptly and was treated excellent. We got our girl in next morning with very very great service and compassion. Thank you????

Very informative, and compassionate. Dr. Lewis took the time to explain the diagnosis and treatment options. Vet techs there are amazing also! My elderly dog had surgery today - oral, tumor removal, and freezing of a growth on his eye lid. All staff were very supportive, even with this over-protective owner. Surgery went well! Very upfront about costs associated with the procedures and very detailed directions on after-care.

This was our first visit and we loved Dr. Nicole and her staffs gentleness and expertise with our girl Snickers. They made us feel welcome and we will definitely be back.

My first encounter to schedule an appointment was very professional. I was not rushed through the process at all. Dr. Knight was very thorough in his assessment of my aging Collie and took the time to explain his thoughts and how he proposed to help her live her best quality of life. I moved to the area last year and have been looking for the right fit for my 4 paws care. It took 3 tries but I have found my new partners in Veterinary Care !!

The clinic and staff are amazing in their expertise and compassion. Jeanne at the front desk was immediately helpful and supportive with our scary medical issue with our little dog Mia. She got us in to see Dr. Wolfgang who diagnosed and treated our dog by working her in to a overly booked schedule. We so appreciate the thoroughness and help she provided. Thank you!

Excellent!!!! They were the only vet around that would take us in as an emergency visit due to our little dog getting hit by a porcupine. They treated my baby like a princess and fixed her all up. We will be using them as our up north vet. Very pleased with the treatment our dog received. They we're very caring and compassionate!!!!

I called 5 places around our area and no one could get our little dog in for a week or told me that I had to pay a $300 emergency visit fee or try calling Saginaw or TC!!. Dr. Switzers clinic got us in the same day!! Jeannie and Dr. Natalie Marek DVM were outstanding and very kind, explained everything thoroughly and suggested the best option for my 13 year old rescue dog. Even though we live over an hour away we will continue with Switzer Vet Clinic. We have gone there for over 15 years and will continue to do so..... I highly recommend them!!! The staff and veterinarians are extremely responsive and caring. In addition to getting our dog in quickly if he has any kind of issue, you can always talk to a vet in an emergency. We now live almost an hour away, but continue to make the drive because they are just that excellent.

I come up to Michigan for the summers. I have taken my dog and my cat to Switzer and couldn’t be happier with their service. They are kind and compassionate to my pets. They listen to my questions and concerns. Even though I am a seasonal customer they don’t treat me any differently. I would highly recommend them.

Was able to talk to the after hours doctor and he was very courteous and gave me great advice... helped saved my iguanas life... thank you kindly... I'm highly appreciative..

We were up north for the summer and Switzer was able to quickly get our senior dog in who was struggling with walking. They were compassionate, thorough, and knowledgeable. I'm so thankful for them. Dr. Lewis was wonderful.

I brought my cat in because he had lost weight and wouldn't eat. The vet Dr. Lewis suggested we put him to sleep without even knowing what was wrong. She said because he was in poor condition and 15 years old. I had about 10 minutes to discuss it with my kids. I decided on treatment and he ate a little and acted playful for awhile after his 1st fluids treatment. His 2nd treatment, he was given a drug without my permission. This drug is known for causing kidney failure but yet was given to a cat with kidney disease. It is mostly meant for treating skin infections which he did not have. I've read many things about this drug being too strong. My cat's condition worsened after that but when I called to ask how long my cat would be extra lethargic, the vet rudely argued with me that she told me he would probably not make it from the start and it wasn't caused from the drug. In my opinion, this was a very uncaring response. I saw a super nice vet there on Friday but it was too late. Most of the staff is compassionate and helpful there. However, I am terribly upset that I will never know if my cat could have recovered without this drug in his system. Convenia is too strong of a drug to be used without an owner knowing. I only found out from the bill after my cat was extra lethargic instead of temporarily more energetic. Then I researched the drug and it should NEVER have been given to him. The vet was very rude about the whole thing.

We unfortunately had to find a vet to see our very sick dog while we were up at our lake house. He has a history of being fear aggressive and I was very up front about it. They didn’t even hesitate to offer us an appointment and worked with us for what was best. As it turned out our dog was very sick ( he was a rescue with a questionable past). They were so very kind and gave us all the information to make our decision. When we decided to not treat , they were just as helpful and gracious for end of life prep. The labs and x- rays were done quickly and reported very clearly to me. I was in the room and my husband ( with protocol/masks) were allowed in for the procedure and given time and respect for such a big decision. We will eventually be moving up this way and they will definitely be our vet. Highly recommend

Very impressed with the thoroughness of Dr. Danielle Ryan. So satisfied with the care and explantions received concerning my 13 year old Yorkie. Highly recommend Sweitzer Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a wonderful experience with their pet.

They were so helpful and caring. My cat star got sick and I was really worried. They got me in that day, and was doing much better by the next day. Thanks so much for everything.

JoJo was sleeping a lot, hiding and having trouble jumping up on the lazy boy, even for an older cat. Dr. Danielle and staff determined he had an altercation with another cat which caused a problem in his right leg arm pit. He was administered meds at the clinic and we were given more for 3 more days at home. It was a miracle, Even as we were driving home there was a signifant improvement. Today 3 days later he is back to his old self. Thank you Dr Danielle and staff.

Currently sitting in the parking lot and keep getting the busy signal when I call in for my dogs appointment.... Been tryin for 10 minutes now, someone should han up the phone..

Amazing staff and the Doctor was so understanding and really went above and beyond to work within my budget. My Siberian Husky is 2 weeks from having puppies and almost 7 years old. She was attacked and unable to defend herself by our roommates 2 dogs. They tore her up badly. No other vet from Traverse City to Alpena could get her in their office. Traverse City wanted $1,000 just to walk threw the door. I got her thoroughly examined, x ray, meds for $213. Great prices and I live in Lewiston. They squeezed her in without putting me on a time restriction to get her there, being it's a hour drive there. Now they are coming to your car to check your pet in. Then they take them in the office while you wait in your car per Covid. But I'll definitely be taking her all the way back there for future care.

My one year old dog needed two knee surgeries. The surgeon clearly explained the problem and how they would do the surgery. After each surgery I was shown the x-rays of the screws and plates, so I understood how important it was to keep her calm. During her follow up appointments the staff kept me informed what they were doing and the level of soreness she might have. It's now five months after her last surgery and I have a happy dog again. Thank-you!

When Covid first broke out Switzer Veterinary was the only Veterinarian Clinic that would see our extremely sick dog Tank. We are grateful!

We LOVE Switzer Clinic! From the minute you call and talk to the awesome, knowledgeable front desk staff to the staff who assist the doctors and then the doctors themselves....you and your pet are treated like family. They are friendly, nice, very professional and really know what they are doing. The whole office is very clean. I highly recommend Switzer Clinic ????

My old veterinarian had retired and someone new took over his practice. My dog (Cooper) became sick and when I called to try and get him seen they turned us down (my old vet would not have). I called Switzer Veterinary Clinic and they took him in within the hour. I was so impressed and thankful that they went out of their way to see Cooper. I have found a new veterinarian and would highly recommend this place.

My dog was in a lot of pain and I was expecting the worse. They examined her and prescribed pills for pain and inflammation. They were very kind and understanding and my expectations were by far exceeded.

I have been taking my dogs to Switzer for over 15 years now. All the of the Doctors and Staff here are amazing! We have laughed together, and cried together throughout the years. I have watched Dr. Ryan save one of my dogs during emergency surgery, I have spent time on the phone on emergency calls and have always received compassionate care! My dogs LOVE going to the Vet! We pull into the parking lot and they are over joyed to go inside, and I really think that has a lot to do with the care that the Doctors and Staff show to every animal that walks in that door. Even our SUPER loud, quirky rescue dog that we had, they were always accommodating with her and have tried to help make the visits easier on her.
