I have a 14 year old gsd with a degenerative spine condition. My own vet, where I have spent a fortune in treatments would not attempt to groom him even though they have a groomer on site. This groomer has takenhi on inspite of his medical issues. They charge a very reasonable rate given he requires two groomers to bath him. He comes out looking and feeling good. I am very grateful they were willing to take him on.

Just was going to delete Google map photos but experiment with social media and am curious. However I don't drive by choice too expensive. So you're going to see posts of me biking past places in Northampton. It's a small town. I do to Pulaski park often to hang out with my street friends and occasionally actually enter a business. The Haymarket,, food, etc. Home... peace katt warrior ant ????.

Five stars isn't enough to rate the quality of care they offer to my best friend. If you've been elsewhere or never been anywhere the green groomer is a must experience for your best friend hands down.

My sweet dog always comes home looking handsome and smelling good and, most importantly, relaxed and happy. He lights up and wags when he sees Kathy!

They have an outstanding groomer there now. I went in to have my puppy's claws ground. They did a beautiful job and made it a lovely experience for my little guy.

Kathy has been wonderful to our dog. We followed her here. She is so friendly and talented. We have quite the loud barker which she tolerates and still makes him look adorable.

Our nine year old German Shepherd needed a bath, toe nails trimmed and a thorough brushing. We respect that our fur baby is nervous at unknown places. My partner alerted the owner regarding this issue. She was pleased when the owner came out to the car, spoke to our canine Daisy, and then carefully got in the back seat. Our Daisy melted like butter and happily walked into the salon on her leash. Russell had her finished in a little over an hour. She was walked out by Russell and calmly got in the car! She looked beautiful!! When she got home she ate a small snack and fell asleep; she woke up FULL of energy. I've never had such an experience with a groomer. Thank you Russell! May you continue to have a successful business. You clearly have the passion needed for this type of business.

Brought my corgi mix in for a wash and nail trim. They were super nice and very understanding of Mochi being a bit panicky after not being at a groomers in so long. Would definitely bring her back in the future!

I have been taking my 14 year old dog to the Green Groomer these past years. Kathy, the groomer, besides doing an excellent job is obviously a dog lover. I have been been impressed with the gentleness she shows and also advice. It is interesting that when I take Bella (my dog) to the vet or sitter she always shows a lot of anxiety. When I deliver her to Kathy she shows none of these symptoms. A very animal caring business and wish them well. Thank you.

We moved here 2 years ago and were looking for a new groomer for our small havanese. I started to use the Green Groomer because of a recommendation from someone at the dog park. Our dog is 8 years old, and we have never had a problem with a groomer. But when we started going here they couldn't cut her face short enough or something, I asked multiple times for the exact same cut she had been getting for the past 6 years. Every time I had to bring her home from the Green Groomer and cut the fur around her muzzle with a pair of scissors. Not that big of a deal, but I had JUST paid for her to be groomed, why did I then need to bring her home and immediately hack away at the fur on her face? But I kept going, finally like 2 appointments ago the woman cut her face fur like the rest of her body. But our last appointment she was not available, so we were to have a new groomer, Tessa. Last Saturday she had a family emergency and had to go to the hospital just before our dogs appointment, she wanted to reschedule for this Saturday at 2:45. I understood it was a family emergency, Tessa was able to text me 4 times, including one saying "I am going to stay late next weekend to give your pet a nice spa day". Got there today at 2:45, and our dog was not in the book, they had not put her down for today. Once was fine, but I have to rearrange my day to make sure the dog can get to the groomer. She said she was willing to groom our dog, but there was no washer ( he had been fired, she said) , and was fully involved in grooming a golden retriever, so our dog could stay, but she would have to be in a cage for an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and a half while she finished up with the golden. I had already rearranged 2 Saturdays in a row, and now our dog was going to have to stay in a cage for an hour or more, and then get groomed? Just no, do not go here, it is not a professional place. She offered me nothing for the fact that she had forgotten to put the dog in the book, literally not even and "I'm sorry". I chose to overlook other bad reviews, but hopefully you will not make the same mistake. Find a different groomer. DO not go here. Your staff is like family, well my dog is like family. If a member of my family had to run out to the hospital, I would not make them also call clients and reschedule them in the system before they could run to the hospital. I never raised my voice, I apologized for being upset actually. But I had to change my plans 2 weekends in a row to accommodate grooming. The more experienced staff members saw I was upset that my dog was not in the book and told me it was "Tessa's problem and she could deal with it" before leaving it to her and going into the back with the dogs. So how they think I was "screaming" is pretty crazy, they were not even there. Her appointment was to begin at 2:45, but Tessa needed at least until 4 (an hour and fifteen minutes) to even start on my dog. She was "staying late" already for a 2:45 start time, but now my dog was to sit in a cage until at least 4, and her grooming was to be 4-6? How was Tessa going to be patient and kind to my dog while having to stay (probably alone) until 6 to groom my dog? No, not a chance. And as for the policy of fixing the cuts? I was told each time to tell them if it wasn't right, and they would do it better next time. No one ever offered to fix her face then or soon, just next time. So I guess his family/staff is not told of this policy. I never screamed, I just said "ok, I will find another groomer" but she kept insisting I leave my dog to sit in a cage until 4. His statement above is just to protect his business, and his staff saying I was screaming is a joke, they are just trying to protect their jobs. I come from a family of business owners, and I would never treat a client this way. Beware, do not go here.

I regret bringing my dogs here. When trimming one of my dogs' nails, the groomer cut the quick at least twice (I saw her put powder to stop the bleeding on two different paws). The nail cutting process looked rushed, with no time taken to inspect the quick of each nail before trimming, and no time taken to comfort the dog when she was in pain. The rest of the grooming process seemed rushed as well, with not much care about whether the dogs were in distress, but the nail trimming stood out because of the resulting injury. I understand that quicking the nail happens sometimes, but it may have been avoided if she had slowed down and taken more care. When I asked the groomer about it, she was flippant and tried to downplay it, and also told me that it had only happened on one nail, even though I saw it happen on two paws. For anybody reading the reviews, since the business has responded but some of their info was ambiguous: The businesses's response makes it seem like I had asked for a standard grooming package and then asked them to do it as fast as possible, which isn't the case at all. The standard package they refer to is something that was not communicated to me at any point; I didn't request it or give them permission to do those services on my dogs, and no one spoke to me about a standard grooming process, either before or during the appointment. I'd asked for my dogs to get a bath and have some fur trimmed that was getting in their eyes. Instead, a number of other procedures were done without asking me. When I noticed that the dogs seemed distressed and that their stay in the grooming area was being extended for procedures that I hadn't asked for, I asked if they could wrap up the things I did ask for and then stop there. This is consistent with some other reviews I've read, that mention that this groomer added things on without communicating anything to the owner until it was already done. It would be good for this business to be more transparent about services, and to clearly list what services will be done so that future clients can have choice. It is true that they only charged me half of what they normally charge for the standard grooming package, so that part of their response is accurate.

I could not be more impressed with this place! I called for an appointment to have my dog's nails trimmed and they were able to fit me in the same day, even working around my crazy schedule. The owner took the time to get to know my dog, playing on the floor and approaching her very gently to put her at ease. He then took her to the back and quickly trimmed all of her nails perfectly, they looked great and she came out all smiles. Plus, the price was incredibly reasonable! I would recommend them to any pet owner and hope they stay in business a long, long time!
