I booked a stay for my dog there for a few days while we were supposed to be out of town. He only ended up staying one night because our trip got cut short, but it was a great experience nonetheless and we will definitely use Pooch Hotel again in the future

This is our second time boarding our dog with pooch hotel. It was already really great the first time, but I noticed more playtime and 24/7 webcam for the room my dog is staying in, which is definitely a plus. I feel very safe letting my dog stay at pooch hotel overall!

Boarding your beloved pet is never easy. Leaving my fur baby at the Pooch Hotel takes the stress out of the process. The staff are awesome, my dog is well cared for and given lots of attention. I have no problem recommending the Pooch Hotel to anyone looking for a quality place to board their pet.

Very accommodating of my very last minute need for boarding my two dogs. Friendly and efficient staff! Just moved out of state but would definitely use again if back in the area with my dogs and have already recommended to friends.

First time EVER leaving our high anxiety senior dog in 9 years. The staff emailed to update us and answered our calls and questions. They also Sent us pictures. The only thing that would be a lower rating is Webcam. Because she was not allowed out with other dogs, we never got to see her in camera since individual dogs start going out at 6 am but cameras do go on until 7am or depending on how many others, we miss her at night due to cameras turning off at 7p.m. Otherwise, 100% recommend Pooch Hotel!

Great staff, very friendly and professional. My dog loves coming to daycare. Highly recommend Newton Pooch Hotel!

First time with our pup staying at the Pooch Hotel, and it was very positive! While it seems like a really big place, she got individual one-on-one attention. When we picked up we got detailed feedback on her interactions with other pups, how she ate, etc.... Very impressed! We'll be back.

What a fantastic facility! They were overly accommodating to our Lexi who was really skittish at first but eventually warmed up to the place. We are now transitioning her from her former daycare to Pooch Hotel based off of our trainer's recommendation and the level of service and communication we experienced working with the staff here. They are proactive in letting you know what is happening with your pup and super responsive if you want to check in. The cameras that they give you access to are also so reassuring that they want to allow you to have insight to what your pup is up to throughout the day. Nothing but a great experience so far!

Our Ellie loves the pooch hotel! Pooch hotel in Newton has been more than helpful to us and our requests- we love the flexibility in drop off and pick up times since they are a 24 hour operation. They send updates on how your pup is doing while they’re boarding, which makes you feel much better while away. I couldn’t thank the staff there enough!!

Pros: -Close to the city, and easy to get to when commuting into work -Webcams to see dog in play and boarding -Early check-in and late checkout -24/7 hours allow for more peace of mind in timing with travel Cons: -Misleading advertising -Understaffed -Everything costs extra -Not good for high energy dogs My initial interactions with Pooch Hotel were great, but as time went on, my experiences steadily declined. At first, staff were friendly and happy to see my dog, but as time went on it was clear they could not handle her higher energy. Frankly, this doggy day care is not for you if you have a high energy small/medium dog. We were told they separate dogs by size and temperament for play time. However, they really only separate by size, and sometimes even then that didn't seem true. Our medium-sized corgi had much higher energy than the other small dogs, causing her to be separated from the rest of the group in play time or kicked out of play time entirely. Based on what I saw on the webcams, she didn't do anything wrong, her energy was just higher than the other dogs'. When we asked why they kicked her out of play time, they didn't pick up our seven phone calls and gave us the run around. They couldn't even be bothered to ask the person in the room why she removed our dog. They just said her "high energy" over stimulated the group. By no means am I dog temperament expert, but its hard for me to understand why a higher energy dog is immediately removed for playing. Furthermore, I have a hard time understanding how a 25 pound high-energy corgi being kept in the same play group as a 5 pound yorkie is matching size. Size/temperament matching doesn't happen as well as it could here. Staff attitude is very temperamental from day-to-day, and their communication is lacking. Some days they were excited to see our dog; other days they couldn't be bother to interact with her or me as I dropped her off. I understand everywhere is understaffed right now, but it doesn't leave a great feeling leaving your dog with staff who act like they don't like seeing your pup when you drop them off. Furthermore, when there were "incidents" from my dog's high energy, they never told us what exactly those incidents were. We asked for advice on how to work on it at home, and those questions and emails were left unanswered. Furthermore, this daycare really isn't worth the price. Unless you want to pay extra for literally everything, your dog only gets two 2-hour play times during a normal 8-5 work day. And that's if they don't separate your dog for their energy not matching the group. Personal play time costs extra, grooming costs extra, treats cost extra, walks cost extra. It wouldn't bug me, but they just instituted a new rule where you can't bring any of your dogs personal belongings with them other than food/medicine. Thus, if you want to send along some toys with your pup while they are in their personal kennels to avoid having to pay for private play time, you can't. If you can, avoid going to this place. There are plenty of other daycares in the area that provide the same if not better care. If you want your dog to have all day play/socialization, PetSmart offers all day play for half the cost. The Doggy Retreat and Spa in Waltham has all day play for less as well. If you choose to go to Pooch Hotel, know you are paying to have your dog kenneled for at least half the work day unless you pay extra.

I was disappointed that my dog spend so much time in a crate. I observed her during play time and the staff was not very engaging

Makes me sad because it is a nice facility but when my flight home got cancelled and I could not reach anyone for an entire day, just to learn the next day that they could not extend my dogs stay. It would have been fine if they told me but seriously 24 hours with no response after calling a dozen times is unacceptable.

We left our pup (10 months old) there for 4 days, reading the good reviews and we were quite hopeful. I am not one to write reviews, but this place was absolutely awful. I cried when I picked Hank up. Because he's not neutered (he's still a pup!) they did not have him play with the other dogs. This is understandable, but they stuck him in the same room with all of the other dogs in their "hotel rooms" aka kennels. It looked like a dog shelter to be honest. We called during the week to see how he was doing, and they didn't inform us until we were gone that because he was not neutered (he's still a pup!) they could not have him in the common spaces. They said he had private time to play - but I doubt how much actual exercise time he had. I monitored the cameras pretty closely and did not see him ever in any of the 3 play areas. He also never used to pee in the house, and he started peeing in random spots. It's been 3 weeks and a lot better but I think it's because he never went outside... they do not have an outdoor area and it's right next to the highway. The inside of this facility smelled like pee and poop. Hank came back smelling awful and had crust and build up all over his nose. Furthermore, Hank came back with no voice whatsoever (he must have lost it because they put him in the same room with a dozen or so dogs howling and barking CONSTANTLY). Hank was not one to bark or whine before and he had such extreme anxiety that he could not be left at our house alone. Before this, he was totally fine being in a room by himself. It took more than 3 weeks for him to get his voice back. This place was awful. Neglected our dog, and we will not be recommending or coming back.

I booked a reservation months ago. They had all his health records. A few days before I had to check my dog in I got an email saying he needed a rabies vaccine 48 hours before I dropped him off. He was scheduled a vaccine after the date and I couldn’t get an appointment before with such short notice. They then told me I wouldn’t be able to bring him. Making a reservation months ago they could’ve given me a heads up before instead of waiting last minute.

This was our first time leaving our pup who’s 10 months ago and we did some extensive research and after we found out we could check in via webcam we felt more comfortable going with pooch hotel. We tried not to check on our dog so much but the three times we did her entire “room” was full of pee and was not cleaned up. I called only to have the girl tell me to watch cameras- 30 minutes later she went in, dragged our dog out by her collar (we were watching and timed it to see how long it would take for someone to clean it up) and then essentially came in with a dry mop and mopped the pee all over the floor and threw our dog back in there. To say I was very disappointed was an understatement. Not only that, but our dog is also very anxious and doesn’t do well with other dogs- a big cuddle bug basically- and we paid for extra cuddle time as well as did not see that being done at all. Upon picking her up she completely reaks of pee. We had given her a shower two days prior to dropping her off. I would HIGHLY suggest looking elsewhere if you’re boarding your dog. I do NOT recommend this place at all and am VERY disappointed in the service.

This is a decent place to take your dog if you’re going away and need someone to care of them. I would’ve given a 4/5 stars if the communication was better. The first time bringing my dog there, I was nervous. I emailed them the next morning after I dropped her off just to check in because that’s what I was told to do at check in by a staff member as the best way to contact them. However, I never got an email back through out the 3 days. I told them this when I checked out and the staff member apologized and said that they are very busy and are working on better communication despite this. Although the webcams were great in the play rooms, if there was someone responsible for quick updates during the stay I think that could alleviate some stress and anxiety for pet owners and change my ok experience to an amazing one.

We’ve had our dog boarded here a couple times now and it’s just simply the best! The booking process is so simple and all of the staff members are helpful! It’s also a big benefit being able to have 24-hour webcam access to check in on your fluff ball while you’re away. We will be long time guests here!

They were very helpful in my first booking. They did say they would call the vet for me and call me if they needed any additional information. The next day I found out that they couldn’t get in touch with the vet so this caused some confusion that could have been avoided. Also, after I tried to book a second time, someone told me they needed additional information even though he had already stayed there the day before. I will say that when I picked him up, the staff member was super positive which made me feel at ease when picking up my high energy pup!

Pooch Hotel Newton always takes great care of my 1 year old lab pup! I hadn’t brought him in for awhile because of the pandemic but afterward they still remembered him! Personal touch goes a long way!

After trying 2-3 different day cares for our puppy Pooch Hotel stood out as the best by a mile. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly HAPPY. Its an hour round trip each way for us but completely worth it knowing that he's being looked after by people that enjoy their jobs and actually care about him!

We tried this for the first time due to our vacation in hawaii. They gave us a 25% discount as a new client. Nice! First thing i noticed is their number is not answered. Always on voicemail. Second thing is they do not have enough resources to handle the dogs. We paid for a presidential suite so we can view our dog in the camera, guess what, the tv is blocking the view of the camera so we cannot see our dog. I paid for a $90 a night service yet i felt like the $30 a night is better. Customer service is a must on this kind of business. If phones are not answered then customers get worried.

It was a nice controlled environment for my puppy to meet other puppies for the 1st time. They provide a detailed report of things your dog is good at, and things to work on at the end of the session. The staff is very professional, and seem genuinely interested in helping you raise your puppy. For $20, it is an amazing deal.

My dog is happy there.. I love the webcam. Picked her up at 2:00 AM The only problem is that they don’t answer the phone swiftly.

We have a nine week old pup and had to go away suddenly overnight. Because of the circumstances we had no one to sit. Having used pooch several years ago with our last dog for day care we thought we would call and ask. Thankfully they had a puppy pa mage and availability. They saved the day! Our baby did really well! Thanks Pooch.

I dropped my pet Cosmo for the first time at Pooch.I booked a overnight executive suite, with two cuddle times and also paid for extra hours the next day. I dropped him off at 5:30 on 05/16 and he was immediately put in the suite room. I called the hotel immediately and they told me that the play time is over and his next play time is tomorrow morning. I was shocked listening to it, No one gave me any details about play times and how they are going to take care of Cosmo. I told them over the phone that he is a puppy and this is the first time he is staying there and asked them to give him some cuddle time. I was looking in the webcam and he was barking continuously and no one went to his room for the next 2 hours. Next day morning play time started and they took Cosmo to the gate near play area and immediately took him out. He wasn’t even given a chance to enter the play area. we did not see him for the next 15 mins and later we saw him in his room. Not sure what happened in this 15 mins but once he came to the room he was lying down. I immediately went and picked him up. The checkout time was 03:00 pm on 05/17 but I picked him up at 9:30 am. Not sure who the lady was but I saw her using the knees and pushing Cosmo. When I went to pick him up this is what the person at POOCH hotel told me: We took Cosmo near the play are and he was overwhelmed and did not know where to go so we thought to bring him back and take him to the play area again. Reallyyyyyy? Come on he is a puppy and obviously when he sees a lot of pets he gets excited. The reason was very stupid. We waited all night to see how he will do in the play area and this is the stupid response I got from them. Shocked to see this kind of behavior from the people who should be taking care of pets. I am not satisfied at all and will never use your service. I wont recommend POOCH hotel to anyone.

This was my first time ever boarding my dog, who is almost 5 and I’ve had since he was 8 weeks old so naturally I was extremely nervous! All my questions via email were addressed very quickly! The woman checking me in was very nice and upbeat and asked all the appropriate questions which made me feel very comfortable knowing that they were asking all the right questions. Next day I called to check I’m on him and they said he was doing great! They even emailed me a pic of how much fun he was having! I’m so relieved that I found a great trustworthy place, I’ve even already booked his next day care and boarding here! So worth it knowing my baby is being well taken care of while having a blast!
