The vets and staff here provide great care for my pets. I’ve had a very positive experience taking my dog and cat here. The vets care deeply about my pets and have always taken the time to answer my questions and do very thorough examinations. My cat is very feisty. A different vet office refused to care for her because she is so feisty. But I am amazed at how they handle her and so thankful that she receives excellent care by skilled professionals at NAH.

Dr. Rezek and the techs at NAH are absolutely wonderful. I am a vet tech at another practice and I was beyond impressed with how well everyone handled my anxious/reactive dog—she made lots of friends at her appointment due to their professional, compassionate approach. Dr. Rezek spent so much time working up my pup, and making sure she found a great solution for her going forward. The compassion she showed for Ninja’s anxiety really touched me — I am so thankful for her time, expertise, and compassion! I did not get the name of the tech that helped us out , I’m so sorry, but I was extremely impressed by them too ! They were so friendly, skilled, and thoughtful. Ninja and I had a wonderful experience in what could have been a very stressful situation. Thank you NAH for taking such incredible care of my girl !

Everyone is extremely nice and knowledgeable. An online review doesn't do this place justice. My boyfriend and I take both of our dogs here and love it!

This was our first visit to NAH and I was looking forward to getting our puppy Pluto checked out. Our appointment was at 10:30am we got there at 10:20am and called and they said they were running behind because of two complicated cases in the morning so they wouldn't be able to grab him till 10:45am. We drop Pluto off with the tech at 10:45am and she said it will be about 10-15 minutes for the check up. So 11:10 rolls around, 11:20, 11:30, 11:35 and I call because my boyfriend has to go to work at 12pm. We call and the tech tells us that our dog is just being seen and he'll be right out. The vet calls us at 11:50am and asks me all the same questions the vet tech did before (shouldn't the vet tech have given the vet all the info?) and just feels pushy about getting him another appt, tests and puppy training classes. They didn't give us any information about his appointment, it would've been nice to know his weight, his vitals any information about his check up. Also they told us to come back in a week for vaccines so we'd have to pay another visit fee - even though he was due for vaccines! We will not be making another appointment with NAH in a week. I spent $70 for them to tell me he's a healthy puppy and they want to run more tests on him so they can take more of my money. IF YOU ARE RUNNING BEHIND CALL YOUR CUSTOMERS AND LET THEM KNOW - give people a chance to reschedule if they need to.

Choose this place because it was close - our cat is traumatized by car rides. Nice staff, quick response, overall very good experience.

I have had only good experiences here with my puppy. They are always able to fit me for appointments. And vaccinations/spaying went very well.

Kind and thoughtful. We have been very happy here. Our favorite vet left but the new one is equally through and kind. It is pricey, it's Newton after all, but they are worth it!

Dr Santos is the most compassionate and helpful vet and as new pup owners she made life so much easier for us. The staff are all incredibly friendly and I highly recommend NAH. They really look after our little boy and we know he is always in safe hands.

Took my senior dog to them for about a year, and never saw the same vet twice. Each time I made an appointment there was a new vet in the office, and I was pushed to see whoever was newest. One vet prescribed one drug, another vet a different one, no consistency in treatment between the vets. Dr. Rubenstein prescribed Galiprant for my dog in the fall of 2019 after she had taken Rimadyl, supposedly because it was easier on the digestive system. Soon after, my dog developed serious GI inflammation symptoms resulting in nearly $7,000 in vet hospital charges, and much suffering for my dog. Given my dog's history, this drug should not have been prescribed. Galiprant is a new drug, and it seemed like my dog was a Guinea pig to the vet.

Due to covid, people are not allowed inside so be aware if you walk there instead of drive there as you will be waiting outside while your pet is inside

I love bringing my cat here. The receptionists are very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Gastrock is absolutely wonderful. She is so invested in my cats treatment and you can tell how much she really cares for all of her patients. You get a copy of the invoice emailed to you post each visit, and can get a visit summary messaged to you upon request. Dr. Gastrock really goes above and beyond and you can tell how much time and effort she puts into writing the summaries, knowing it will help make me feel more at ease. She doesn’t rush through conversations either, and will take as much time as needed to ensure we are all set and have the best treatment plan possible for our cat, while really taking into account our thoughts/what is doable for us. Overall, feel really lucky to have chosen NAH, and to have Dr. Gastrock as our vet. I have taken my car multiple times in the past year and has seen hern every time. Now I won’t take my cat anywhere else!!

Newton Animal Hospital used to be a lovely hospital but has become overwhelmed and is no longer giving the excellent care I was used to which resulted in misdiagnosis and eventual death of my dog. After rushing through an appointment, they failed to recognize significant weight drop and do further testing. In addition, "emergency visits" are unavailable and they often can only book a week out. After being a patient at NAH for 8 years, we received no call to check on our dog when he was in the hospital and had to call several times to get the records transferred to the hospital. I will not be bringing my next dog here.

I have been taking my 9-month-old puppy to the vet here since May, and I have been sent around to four different vets during the visits. My dog's issues are written off as nothing until they become severe, the content of her care is not reliable (each vet says to do a different thing), and they NEVER call to check up on my dog. During almost each visit, the vet would either FORGET to send me home with the medication, FORGET to give me back supplies that my dog came in with, or would make a MISTAKE with prescription information. For a while, I was only talking to the tech's and they weren't even passing along my information to the vet. And to top that all off, my pet portal account was deactivated internally, and no one at the clinic can fix it. I am highly disappointed by the professionalism and responsibility of this vet clinic.

We love the Newton Animal Hospital, the staff are very friendly and Dr Santos is the best vet we've come across in a long time and she is so good with our cat, and is always available in a emergency. Were lucky to have Dr Santos and don't think of going anyplace else. We drive over an hour to get to her but so worth it.

We've been taking our small Golden to Newton Animal Hospital for 4 years since he was a small puppy. Our experience with all of the doctors and the staff there has been consistently excellent. We started with working with Dr. John, who performed a successful surgery on our puppy, and now we usually see Dr. Hedges. Our dog willingly goes in for appointments - he actually runs up the steps to the door. Everyone there is exceptionally kind as well as skilled, and we can feel how much they care about our dog. We never feel rushed during appointments, and even on short notice they always manage to get us in. We also get follow up calls to check in. So grateful we found this practice early in our dog's life!
