Friendly, accommodating, patient. I have taken 4 pets here for care, including one we had to put to sleep. Great staff.

We took one of our clients, 160 pound Great Dane, the vet came out to the car and treated him there. It really helped reduce the Dane stress. The vet also gave us extra information to help us understand why he presented with certain symptoms. Since we weren't the owns she could have not given any extra info but she took the time to educate us and not make us feel as though we were wasting her time.

Kind and helpful. Occasionally we’ve had to wait 30+ minutes after arrival. But they note it and apologize. Overall, happy with the service and care of the pups!

I have been a dog owner for many years and used hingham animal clinic for regular checkups. However, my dog needed a dental procedure and we dropped him off at 7:30 am and was told the doctor would call us as soon as the surgery was done. My dog is 10 and a half and has had many leg surgeries at the Weymouth VCA . I was very pleased there. At the Hingham Animal Clinic, no one told us that the surgery would be in the afternoon and each time I called no one told me when it would be over, or if he was in surgery. After calling five times with no concrete answers. The customer service person told me I was rude and that calling five times was unnecessary. The doctor called later and when I explained why I was so upset, she hung up on me. I am a nurse and have had surgery myself. No one's family was ever treated like that. I am done with Hingham Animal Clinic and would give the one star because my dog is still alive.

This place used to be great but every visit now means 30 - 40 minute wait before your scheduled appointment.

I called to get a refill of hart guard for my dog and the woman who answered the phone said that she couldn’t refill it until my dog was seen. I asked for an appointment and I was told they were booked way out and there were no appointments. Further, she told me I would need to call back every day to see if there was a cancellation. I called the following week and a human answered the phone and I had an appointment for the following week. The appointment I got was not a cancellation!! My wife brought our dog in for a check up and we now have the hart guard. However, we also paid $650 for extra procedures that were not explained well via a cell phone call while my wife waited in her car for our dog to come back out. The customer service is horrible!! They could have had the decency to come outside and explain what the procedure s were. We regret having to bring him in now. The first time I brought our dog in I thought they were very nice. For the past two years I have not had a positive experience there. Quite frankly we’re looking for another vet. We’ve moved here to Hull from the metro west and the vet we previously had was amazing compared to this place!! Horrible, just plain horrible.

As a veterinarian and hospital owner I am very disappointed with my family's experience with this clinic today. Just a few weeks ago my daughter's 9 month old pup was hospitalized and had a full work up including radiography and blood work. While the pup's stay was short, her bill was over 1300.00 Today I witnessed the dog vomit and in the vomit were round worms. My daughter called to see about getting medication. The receptionist "client care specialist" Amanda wa's insistent that she would need to make an appointment for the dog first, would need an exam and then diagnostics. My daughter tried to ask if the vet could first review the record, and call when convenient but Amanda cut her off, wouldn't listen and my daughter hung up. I called the hospital right back hoping to see if we could simply drop a stool sample off since the dog had just been there, etc. As I attempted to explain that I have a feline/exotic practice I too was tersely cut off. She told me "I don't care if you're a doctor this is our poicy and the dog will need an appointment, etc. I tried to say that in these covid times any vet with an established relationship with the client/pet, would be able to prescribe a wormer, but again, I was abruptly interrupted with the same "this is our policy". I told her she was being rude and I would just like a call when a vet was available she snapped back that I was rude. I understand why my daughter hung up and am sorry to say they have lost her as a client. As a practice owner myself I know policies must be made but I would be horrified if any of my staff were to speak to my client the way she did much less another doctor asking to speak to a fellow veterinarian. Ironically, at the dog's previous visits there was some confusion on symptoms and communication. Seeing different vets and everything communicated over the phone with various staff can cause mixups. When I had to call to clarify some medical information I was told by a rather rude receptionist (amanda?) that it was unlikely the doctor treating the dog that day would be willing to discuss the case with me, but she would pass it on. I received a call from Dr. Hodge within 30 minutes that day. She was not the original vet my daughter saw but she was very professional and got right back to me despite the cold response I had gotten by the "client care specialist". I did not recieve a call back today however. I will be followings up this review with a much more detailed letter to all parties involved. I don't like receiving poor reviews, and I know poor communication is often a major part of the problem. This particular employee is a major problem for this practice...one bad apple, as they say...

Dr Heather Sacks and crew were responsive, compassionate and did their best to communicate by phone with me during the appointment where Bruce the Great Dane was in there alone. She answered all my questions and was personable and caring as always, not only about Bruce, but about our larger life situations we are all going through! All in all, it was the best it could be, and I hope this helps any first time clients during these tough times, to have the confidence to employ their services despite the protocols in place. They are completely trustworthy and reliable and responsive. Go see Hingham Animal Clinic!

*UPDATE - The clinic did call to apologize and said they are addressing the situation with their staff. It makes me sad to have to write this. I was really hoping to be able to avoid it and move on quietly, but unfortunately I am going to have to give this clinic two stars. For the most part, the doctors and techs/client care specialists are wonderful. However, the staff have incorrectly documented my dog's history, treatment, and symptoms on several occasions. Moreover, my experience with one of the receptionists was so horrible, it forced me to cut ties with the clinic altogether. I brought my dog in several weeks ago to get treated for a cough and severe diarrhea, she was given doxy. She had a bad reaction to the doxy which happens to some dogs, no big deal. However, when I brought her back in to address her reaction to the doxy, one of the techs recorded her symptoms incorrectly, documenting that she was not eating and vomiting, when I had told the tech the exact opposite. The doctor then attempted to treat her based on the wrong symptoms, costing me over $1K with no end result or diagnosis. Although it was extremely frustrating, the doctor was incredibly patient and went out of her way to make sure my dog was cared for, so I let it go. Several weeks later, I called because I saw a round worm in my dog's vomit and asked if I could get the medicine for round worm. The client care specialist who took my call insisted that I had to bring my dog in for another exam to receive the medicine. My family asked if we could a) talk to the doctor directly since my dog was just there and/or b) drop off a stool sample. Here's where things went south, and forced my to write this review. According to this receptionist's recap of the conversation in her notes, she said she would see if she could get a doctor on the phone for us and that we could drop off a stool sample. *This was a complete lie, I assume a lie to cover up her own mistake. She refused to make a note for us to speak to a doctor and insisted we would have to come in for an exam regardless of bringing a stool sample. All rudeness aside, this is an integrity violation and for me, is simply unacceptable. In this profession, the integrity of the owner, doctors, techs, and receptionists is of the utmost importance. We are trusting them with our family member who cannot speak for themselves, and due to covid, we cannot be physically present when the doctor or tech documents and administers care for our pet. The fact that this place has someone interacting with the clients who will blatantly lie to cover herself instead of just admitting a mistake is beyond worrisome. Lastly, my dog's basic history was not documented properly from the getgo, listing her as spayed with the incorrect age. Furthermore, when she was originally brought in for a cough and severe diarrhea, the clinic never considered or attempted to rule out that perhaps it was due to round worms; which can cause these symptoms in young dogs. Although the doctors are very professional and attentive, it seems there may be a breakdown in communication between the client care specialist and the rest of the staff/doctors. The whole sequence of events is really a shame, but please take this into account if you are thinking of taking your pet here. *This review goes in hand with the review below.

So knowledgeable! All of the staff was very welcoming and thorough. I couldn't ask for a better experience for my normally nervous dog. Layla received acupuncture and a number of tests to help keep her healthy.

I have three dogs and am often at Hingham Animal Clinic. I have found all the staff very attentive, they all listen intently to my dog's issues, and explain our options in detail. Our dogs are family, and we feel they are treated as such at HAC. This fabulous image was taken by Jack Foley, professional photographer who captured our Wedding perfectly at Blackrock in Hingham.

Because my dog is a handful, I am always grateful when the visits go well. We all seem to have figured out the best way to manage him. Yesterday both Dr. Lincoln and one of the techs took great pains to answer many burning questions for me on both my dogs health and behavior. Needless to say this was a great relief as I learned many things that will help us go forward.

Forever, bring my pets to HAC. Pets had seen Dr. Smith many years ago. Dr. Waters is the bestest! He seems to be able to "feel" with his hands about the pets, and so didn't "Squish" who seem to know something was not right w/my Lab. I cannot change vets, but will have to--when Dr. Waters officially retires. Who I am not sure, but will stay with HAC after 25 yrs!!

How things go depends on which vet you see. Dr. Sacks will only listen so much to what you have to say then tunes out and cuts you off making you feel like you are wasting her time with your sick pet. Follow up is awful. It always takes several calls over several days (one time it was 4 calls over 5 days) before I get a call back. Not good when you are dealing with an ill pet. The most responsive vet is only working part time, Dr. Waters but at least he calls you back. The others make you feel like a stalker.
