ALEX!!!!! My Winston is a bitter and HATES anyone who tries to touch him. Alex took the time to get to know Winston and his needs and now, Alex will be the ONLY groomer I will ever take Winston. Alex came from The Continental in West Roxbury where he also groomed Winston. Alex and his partner are the new owners of Modern Dog and I wish them nothing but success, and to tell them, the have a customer for life.

I sent my Bernedoodle in to get groomed and wanted less than an inch cut off and when I came to pick him up he was completely shaved. There was no phone call or communication that this was going to happen. I would’ve appreciated a call so I could take him for a second opinion if they thought he was matted because I did not think he was. And to top it off I was charged $150 for a shaved dog. My dog has been acting strange ever since and is clearly traumatized. Needless to say I will not be bringing him back.

The modern dog staff is great! Taken my puppy to daycare and for grooming. Our dog loved her time there. Will be going back again and recommended for others.

These guys are THE. BEST. Charles and his whole team are so nice, love what they do, love their pets, and their human companions. Their grooming is top notch, their accomdations are great, and they also provide the best dog walking service. They’re also very affordable. What’s not to love!

Excellent but need to remind of my poor puppy bad itchy allergies always use sensitive shampoo if I don't they forget puppy suffers for 2 weeks

I recently moved to the area and took my dog to get a bath, nail trim and brush. They did a great job and were super friendly. When I picked her up they had her in the front area with another small dog which I appreciated. Definitely recommend and will go back!

Friendly to all pets great price and excellent work and very professional workers

For 3 yrs off and on my dog had been groomed here. After covid hit I miss my first appointment with them ever. I booked the appointment with the owner and my partner was to bring my dog. He forgot to bring my dog, because he didn't make the appointment and we didn't usually book in the morning. They told my partner we can't bring my dog there again, because they don't have time for people to miss appointments. Then hung up on him. I called to clear things up, and apologize; then he was equally rude to me. Not till I told him he didn't have to be so rude, and reminded him how long my dog has been going there without a problem. He explained how they had been struggling with the business since covid hit, and it was frustrating. I understood, but the way he handled us as great clients was horrible. He did later apologize and welcomed blessing back, but the damage has been done. Which is sad, I really liked them.

I brought my pup in for his second bath with one of their staff groomers and he looks and smells amazing; even better, his nails are nice and short again! The prices are incredibly reasonable, staff is kind and making an appointment has been a breeze. Highly recommend!

I wish I could give more stars. Everyone so friendly.. was able to get a grooming appointment so quickly.. and Jamie did such an amazing job on my dog Holly, who had a full coat with knots included!!! THANK YOU

We have been to a few different groomers throughout the last 7 years with our dog and have had some horror stories until we started going to modern Dog. They are GREAT!!!! We definitely recommend Modern Dog

Very accommodating for me and my scared dog so I could give him a bath. They told me over the phone when the slow times were, so my dog would not be stressed by other dogs. They helped me coax my dog up into the bath with endless patience and kindness. It's clean and cozy, and I will definitely come back!

A most excellent dog grooming shop

My dog gets excited to go here, she drags me in the front door, and everyone knows her by name. She'll fight me to the death if I try to give her a bath at home, but hops right in the tub here. They also offer dog walking and have a great selection of treats and toys. In my opinion, they really do a great job and the staff is very friendly, but overall, my dog's enthusiastic reaction to be here confirms how great this place is and will keep me coming back.

They took their time with my pup but it was so worth it, he looks so good after and they kept him in his own area with toys! Also they have taste of the wild dog food.

Last week, we gave my 13 year old long haired sheltie mix a long overdue bath at home, which ended with him as a tangled, matted mess. After some sad at-home attempts at brushing and trimming his dreadlocks, we needed professional help. Many of his dreads were close to his skin, so I dropped him off at The Modern Dog with the instructions "please do what you have to do and I understand if you have to shave him." I also had to warn them that my old guy is anxious and doesn't do well at the groomers. About 30 minutes later, I got a call that after closer review, the groomer realized she did not have to shave him at all and with some careful brushing and blowdrying, they could save his coat and minimize the amount of stress on my old dog. When I picked him up, he was looking better than ever, bedecked in a bandana, and quite relaxed in his pen in the store. He was the calmest I've ever seen him at a groomers, so clearly he was well taken care of there. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be back.

My dog did really well there in his late age. Excellent customer service, great selection of dog foods, including some healthier choices. Selection of shampoos that left Max smelling great!
