I have been taking my cat to Back Bay Veterinary Clinic for years and the experiences were above and beyond. With such high Nationwide regards and good reputation, the staffs are professional, knowledgeable, patient, super friendly and cheerful. I highly recommend this place.

Good luck getting an appointment when you desperately need one. They are perennially overbooked and, one assumes, understaffed. Expect weeks-long waits just to see a vet tech. And, though it probably goes without saying, be assured you’ll be paying the absolute most money for the poorest experience imaginable.

We have been using BBVC for well over a decade and I trust them completely. Taking a cat to the vet is always stressful but the staff always makes us feel at ease and answers any questions we have. I highly recommend them ❤️

Such a great place, there was an issue with my dogs skin that I wasn’t sure if it warranted a vet appointment. I emailed them pictures asking and they got back to me within an hour telling me what they think it may be and symptoms to watch out for. They squeezed me in the next morning for the vet to look at him when there was no availability till next week and got him on antibiotics instantly. They also make the dogs feel so comfortable and dont get annoyed if you have a super hyper dog like some other places. Best vet I’ve been to yet!

They killed my rabbit, don't put the life of your pet in bad hands, they are the worst and expensive!!!

Absolutely love the care Fuji receives at Back Bay Vet. The staff is incredibly kind and responsive, always checking in via email and text. The veterinarians are also wonderfully present and do their best to explain what is happening and the appropriate next course of action. I also always appreciate how calm everyone is because sometimes the process and visits can be scary. A wonderful team to entrust our dog's care into.

Nothing could have made my visit better. The vet and assistant were extremely nice and understanding about my pets treatment and my lapse in knowledge about her tooth condition. I didn't feel chastised for not knowing about tooth tarter and it sincerely felt like they wanted to help make her better.

Fantastic team. They are so responsive, thorough and kind. I feel my pet is well cared for. They are very friendly and welcoming. Plus the team make time for my many questions. Lovely and clean facilities too.

Back Bay has provided tremendous care to our cat, Monty. They always work us in. The app they use is excellent. A little pricey, but can't beat the quality of providers.

I feel very comfortable taking my cats to this vet . All the people I have met there from the receptionists to the vets and been very professional and they seem very trustworthy . I think the prices are reasonable as well. They also explain things well and don't talk down to me.

Been coming to BBVC for years with my elderly cat. She’s got some kidney disease and has had a few other medical issues over the years. She’s seen probably every vet in the practice at this point and nearly every tech. Everyone is very attentive and thorough. They’ve had some new vets join over the last couple years and they’re great too. They listen to the pet parent’s concerns and let you know your options bearing in mind cost and stress in your let and possible outcomes. You can tell they really care about the animals they work with. They follow up after visits to see how things are going and are responsive to calls and emails when you reach out with concerns. You really feel supported. They do do some things differently than other vets in my experience but it all seems designed to ensure the comfort of the animal, which I appreciate. Going to the doctor is worrisome enough as a human I imagine it’s even more stressful for animals so I’m appreciative of their considering not just the physical health of the pets but also their mental and emotional well being while under their care.

I have been very pleased with Back Bay Vet's care for my cat Teddy! All of the staff and doctors are supportive and informative. I trust the doctors with Teddy and they recently did a great job with his dental cleaning. As a new cat mom, I was very nervous about being away from Teddy for the whole day. But everyone at the clinic was reassuring and the day went better than expected. I appreciate all everyone at the clinic does and their customer service is awesome (they even give check ins after or between visits)!

We love Dr. Carey and the whole BBVC team. They’ve done an amazing job taking care of our puppy. We would highly recommend them! They’ve always been attentive, flexible when scheduling appointments and are great at following up. We love how helpful/responsive Dr. Carey has been to our questions. Our pup had some GI issues early on and they helped get him on the road to recovery ASAP.

*since my first review, things have gotten much better. Although it is still difficult getting appointments and the same day appointment system is a bit tedious they’re much better at explaining exactly what to do over the phone! We have loved taking our pets to back bay veterinary clinic since we moved here. We have a rabbit as well as a dog and have previously been very pleased with the service and care of our animals! This past week the customer service has been far less than acceptable. First off, getting rid of the queue on the phone is a horrible idea! If I’m calling a veterinary clinic that is open, I expect to talk to someone at least rather quickly. Instead, you have to now leave a voicemail - and then it takes hours before someone reaches you. This morning I have called 4 times without any callbacks or pickups. 4 days ago I also called to book an appointment as our dog was having a lot more discharge from his eyes than previously, they didn’t pick up and called back a few hours later to let me know that this should be seen rather soon as it has to do with the eyes. They suggest I call back at 8 am the next day to book a same day appointment, so we did and at 8 am nobody picked up we left a voicemail and since we hadn’t heard from anyone called back again in 20 minutes and this time picked up and let us know that all the same day appointments had been booked. That’s ridiculous! We called at 8 am as stated. Instead we were advised to call again tomorrow to get a same day appointment again! So we did... and same thing again except this time they actually got us an appointment for the next day instead of trying to catch someone. Today, I have been trying to call all day. 4 phone calls, and voicemails and an email and no responses. I can’t believe how terrible the service has been. I have raved about BBVC because the vets are great but this is outrageous! I can’t imagine that this is how a respected veterinary clinic treats their customers. This needs to be looked over and addressed ASAP. Only giving 3 stars because of the Vets, especially Dr. Sorbo who usually sees our pets and is fantastic!

BBV is the best!!! They saw my redfoot tortoise for a bit of shell rot and were so kind and caring. And affordable! Angell is great, but they were charging double what BBV charged, and were much more convenient. The tortoise needed antibacterial shots and the vet showed me how to do it, and were very willing to answer questions I had. I absolutely recommend BBV for your animal family, they will be in excellent hands.

An amazing crew of vets, techs, and office staff. Throughout my 2 years in Boston, backbay vet has been nothing short of reliable, top notch service. The vets + techs are always very transparent about the issues, options, alternatives, and pricing. I never had to worry about remembering to follow up with them as their staff was always on top of things. Additionally, I never felt like I was being upcharged. The vet would always clearly explain what was going on with my dog and give me several options to pursue. I recommend this place to all of my friends. All around great vet

Back Bay Vet has been so great, it feels like we're being taken care of by a team, not just one doctor. We appreciate all the follow up, text messages and calls. Though we are no longer in the neighborhood, we will still refer everyone to you!

If you want the best vets and upmost service (yes it could be expensive, but you get what you pay for), this place is the right one. We have been visiting to this clinic since we had our baby shiba (her first visit was when she was 10 weeks old, 2020 September). Sadly, we moved to a different state, and I’m having a hard time to find a good place like Back Bay Veterinary Clinic! ???? even the technicians are fantastic. We had to wait outside to have an appointment but don’t blame them! Blame covid ???? Especially, we are deeply thankful to Dr. Graham and the technician Jordyn. We miss you guys so much ????????????

In town temporarily with a pregnant dog ...called to ask about help if any complications were to arise during delivery and KATRINA...who answered the phone was so sweet and helpful and directed tme to a fast solution should we run into trouble. GREAT first impression and so helpful even though she knew Back Bay Vet wasn’t going to be the first ...emergency based option! ???? Outstanding People! Update: My dog ended up in labor on the side of the road...in my vehicle...in Boston....(I delivered one...removed the sheath and cut the umbilical cord..then ..we drove to the Emergency Vet....but then my instinct told me to try hard to just go to Back Bay...well....a c-section, a spaying, a healthy mom and 2 more pups later……went in for an educational briefing with THE MOST excited, compassionate and genuine professionals...and took mom and the pups with us. Owning 5 outpatient practices myself with 40 employees...I know outstanding staff and outstanding care...Back Bay Doc’s and Support staff are second to none! Do your pets a huge favor and get them in their hands……sooner the better! ????????❤️

love this vet! have been taking my dog here since her first puppy visit. Originally with Dr. Wheeler then Dr. Campbell when Dr. Wheeler went on maternity leave. They are both excellent and take time to answer all of my worried, first time dog mom questions

The experience was amazing, it felt as covid safe as possible, the vet answered all of my questions in a patient way and I didn't feel rushed at all. I feel like my cat was in very capable hands and I'm so grateful.

Great service once again. Dr. Gannaway went above and beyond to ensure the safety and health of my furry baby. Looking forward to interacting with the staff very soon though.

3rd edit. Stopped going here. Boston Vet Clinic has been the best switch. Pros: convenient location. Typically good turn around and easy appointment booking. Cons: when my corgi had a visible ear infection but the swab much further down in the canal came back negative and I had tell the vet to look at his swollen and bumpy read ear before I got prescribed antibiotics. We also don't typically get the same vet (4 have handled our dog's case in 2 months). Having so many vets on staff is convenient for quick appointments but not if they dont pass patient info. Vets and staff used to be very reliable and nice but now its rude and uncaring. I also was very much overpaying for preventatives and medication and switched to chewy or pick up from cvs. Also there's when my 40% charge phone died on the walk over because of the cold they didn't offer any resolution other than for me to will a working phone into existence. They could have offered to put it on charge or call a pay phone or something but we just had to cancel the appointment for a suspicious lump.

All staff members are extremely loving to the pets that attend there and accommodating to their needs, anxiety etc.... Not to mention Dr. Carey is one of the best veteranarians we have seen with our pet and we saw her as a second opinion. Will most likely become our primary doctor for our pets!! I cant say enough nice things about this place :)
