We just completed six private lessons with Argos training, working on improving behavior in our 5 year old Decker Terrier. Over the last couple months, since starting working with Martin, we have noticed marked improvement in our dog at home, around our children, and in our ability to communicate with him effectively. Overall, this has been a great experience. Martin is understanding and has a positive attitude. I appreciated how he could see the best in our dog and has helped us to bring that out. There’s some human-training too, which is helpful and necessary! His team is professional and very responsive. He’s busy, but it was totally worth the wait to get a spot with him. We still have work to do, and plan to continue working with Argos in group training moving forward. Worth mentioning our dog loved Martin and his time in our sessions too! Highly recommend.

Delta and I have completed Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy Kindergarten 2. We cannot be happier with the results we got. I have a dog that transformed from a puppy velociraptor to a well-adjusted adolescent dog. Classes like these are not just about dog training, they are also about OWNER training. I walked away with plenty of tips and tricks that I used to re-enforce our lessons from Argos Dog Training at home. Training never ends. Everyone from veterinarians to groomers to randos have complimented my dog's demeanor, and it's all thanks to the lessons we both learned at Argos. Make sure you do your homework. And ask questions. Training never ends. Thanks Martin!!

We had such a great experience with Martin at Argos Dog Training! We started when our pup, Hollie, was just about nine months old. She'd been struggling with some anxiety and pulled so badly on her leash that I actually got a stress fracture in my foot from walking her! I knew we needed help, especially as Hollie grew bigger and stronger, and I'm so glad we found Argos. After six sessions with Martin, her confidence has increased tremendously, and her anxiety is significantly less in almost all situations. I was looking for a positive reinforcement trainer, and Martin's methods are balanced and realistic. Hollie would get so excited to get in the car to go play with her new friend! She took to all of the instruction really well - walking her now is a LOT of fun. Most importantly, Martin worked to train *me*! I'll admit I didn't catch on as quickly as Hollie did, but I'm working on it, and she's very patient with me. ;) I feel like I have the tools and understanding now to continue working with Hollie in my own, in a variety of situations, and that's ultimately what I was hoping to come away with. We'd recommend Argos Dog Training over and over. Can't wait to join a group class in the future!

We did the 6 private lessons with Martin for our 8 month old goldendoodle. We had an awesome experience and our dog has improved his leash walking and command response significantly. The techniques that Martin uses are effective and easy to do on our own so that we could work with our dog between each weekly lesson and after the program wrapped up. We would absolutely recommend Argos Dog Training for other dog owners and we will also continue to use Martin for future training.

We recommend Martin for dog training to ALL our friends with dogs - he is great!! Martin provides the ultimate service in educating and training you to better manage, interact, and enjoy your dog. We were seeking a more hands-on and one-on-one training approach for our one-year old pup, Woodford, as we are expecting our first child. Martin's presentation, attentiveness, and coaching is focused, direct, and supportive! We learned so much in our 6-class, on-leash training package and could not be more thrilled with the results. We are better owners for it and continue to incorporate the principles learned daily. Looking forward to partaking in group classes now. Thank you Martin!

We were lucky enough to find Argos via referral from about of state trainer. I reached to Argos and learned that Martin is a very sought after trainer and waited about 8 weeks to get our first appointment. He is worth the wait and effort and drive to get there. He is an incredibly pleasant and patient man who took his time with us to explain what he noticed and how his plan for training would be developed. When he took the leash of our anxious dog, the dog responded beautifully to his demeanor and skills. We have been working on the training plan at home, and we notice an absolute difference in his attention and anxiety. The communication from his office is excellent and very clear, so you understand the expectations for success. They will answer any questions thoroughly. Please do consider Matin a truly professional and competent teacher in understanding and helping your dog. He is so patient and such a great educator. It is clear upon the first visit that he is a wonderful man who enjoys his work and wants to help pets and their families. It is worth your every moment of your time and effort to reach out to him.

We worked with Martin at Argos over 6 private training sessions and the difference was night and day. Martin was amazing with our sassy dog and immediately earned his trust and helped us understand why he does the things that he does. His training program was something we could immediately buy into and we're eager to continue our training!

Martin was incredible with our anxious rescue dog. He was so patient- yet rigorous, focused, and effective. I don’t think I’ve ever seen our dog so happy and engaged during any other activity like he was in this training program. Martin has the perfect demeanor for this work, and it’s evident he has a true understanding and connection with dogs. He zeroed in on tiny behaviors and reactions that our dog was exhibiting and helped me to better understand what they meant, what triggered them, and how to work with them. I’d recommend Martin to anyone. He was so professional and friendly, and taught us so much in a short time. Thanks Martin!!

Martin, Johnathan and the rest of the guys at Argos are amazing. They know what they are talking about and truly care about you and your pet. We started training with Argos when Ace was a puppy, at 11 months he’s not perfect but he is so much more well behaved and much better in social settings.

The training really was not done by those who practice with effective techniques, which surprised me because of the positive ratings. I wanted to take my puppy to the class primarily to socialize her in a safe space with other puppies. I took my puppy to puppy class, and we spent the first 45 minutes sitting there talking about first aid, as opposed to training or socializing the dogs. In addition, and most importantly, the trainer used negative conditioning (as opposed to positive). Instead of teaching dogs the right way to act, he taught new dog owners to punish for the wrong action. This was evidenced by his assistant using a spray bottle on a dog that was barking, as opposed to using positive reinforcement to teach it that it is a good thing to be quiet and can be rewarded for it. In addition, he taught the “puppy hold” which simply put is just holding your dog’s mouth closed when it is nipping, instead of redirecting its interest to something else and just teaching it what is appropriate to bite. In addition, he instructed a couple to put their puppy in the crate as a punishment when it is misbehaving, which is only a good idea if you want to have a dog that is not happy to be crated and sees it solely as a punishment. Avoid this dog trainer

Martin and his team at Argos are an outstanding group of trainers and we have thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from the training we have gotten from them. We brought our new puppy Stella to Argos when she was about 9 weeks old for the puppy kindergarten classes. This class was a great introduction into how to raise a new puppy. Martin and his team coached the group through some important topics for new puppy owners and how to handle the changing behaviors of a puppy. The classes were as much for us to learn as they were for the dog, and our puppy always left exhausted after the end of lesson play time. After the puppy kindergarten we chose to follow up with the one on one clicker training course with Martin which was another great class. Learning to use the clicker properly was a huge benefit in the early stages of training and was the first time that we really felt like the training was more centered around us learning and not just the dog. During the clicker training we also participated in the adolescent socialization classes. These were a great opportunity to allow our dog to get the socialization she needed all while having experienced trainers there to step in and correct behaviors when necessary. The trainers did not just silently correct behavior, Martin was always talking through everything he was doing and seeing which was always reassuring. Following these classes, we once again chose to continue our dog's training with Martin and his basic communications training. These sessions are where we really began to see all of the training come together. During this class Martin was definitely training us equally if not more than our dog which was the most eye opening part of this class. Martin does such a great job at teaching you how to communicate with the dog and helps you to understand that sometimes the dog fails at a task because of something that we did or didn't do. Following this training, we saw such great results that we continued once again to sign up to do basic obedience training with Martin. These classes were once again just what we needed, each week we learned new commands that built off of the previous week and how they all tied together. Once again, we really appreciated Martin's approach of showing us what we need to do and then correcting us as to how to do things better as we trained the dog. I hope that anyone who is interested in a great place to learn and train your dog will give Martin a call, you will not be disappointed. We look forward to continuing training our dog with Martin in the future and hope that other people will consider doing the same.

We brought a very anxious rescue puppy to Argos for the 6 week training program and the change in her ability to productively interact with people was incredible. Martin and his team are incredibly kind and friendly and they do a wonderful job of teaching you how to effectively communicate with your dog. I would recommend anyone in the Boston area work with Argos, regardless of their dog's disposition and abilities.

I’ve loved working with Martin and the team at Argos. So far I’ve taken my pup to socialization classes and individual lessons and his behavior has improved significantly. Martin is very understanding of both the person and the pup! My pup was shy at first in socialization but there was no pressure in him to rush it and he came out of his shell on his own. Martin covers all the essentials and also offers alternative solutions when necessary so you can find what works for you and your pup. After a handful of lessons, we get praised for how well behaved he is even as a young dog!

Argos is truly a life changing place for dog owners! We got Sandy from a shelter knowing she was a stray dog from Puerto Rico. The shelter told us she is energetic and scared of strangers, but we didn't expect she could be so aggressive towards people on the street. Although she likes other dogs, she always played tough and we didn't know how to make other dog owners feel comfortable. She was such a trouble maker that eventually we had to move to a much quieter townhouse. For these reasons, we had a really stressful time in the first few months with her and I decided to seek help from professional dog trainers. Honestly we had our doubts because deep in my heart I felt Sandy is not trainable. But Martin showed confidence in her in the first meeting, even though she was barking at him all the time. He said everything will be better in a few weeks. I said "hopefully" and he was very determined and told me "not hopefully, definitely!" In the first private session, I was surprised to observe how well Martin could handle this crazy girl and communicate effectively with her. Using the techniques he taught us, she was already much more walkable in the first week. After about 6 private classes, we were just ready for the group class and structured daycares. She used to be the most restless dog in the class and ASD, but look at her now! We are just so proud of her! What's more, our friends said the look in her eyes became softer and more confident now, all because we've built a better relationship with her. I think the most important thing we've learnt from Martin is that, the training is not just about the dog, but more about training the owners. Sometimes my eyes told me "ok we know how to do this" but my hands were like "wait why this leash feels different in my hands". Professional experience from a dog trainer like Martin is an invaluable asset. Trust me, every penny you spent here is worthwhile. Besides, he is passionate, patient, confident and responsible. We know we can always count on him whenever we have problems. Words can't express how grateful I am. Now we can say, we really enjoy our dog!

We started working with Martin when we adopted our Airedale puppy early last summer. We began attending puppy socialization classes when he was 8 weeks old (an awesome experience and plenty of good tips for puppy parents!) which really helped properly socialize our pup for appropriate play as an adolescent/adult. We've also worked with Martin in private basic obedience sessions which has really helped improve our communication with our dog. Our relationship and quality of life with our dog has improved meaningfully, all due to Martin's hard work, great communication, and patience. Martin is passionate about teaching dogs and their owners a common language! Thank you Martin!

I've worked with Argos for a few years now, with my two dogs. One was an adult rescue when we began, the second a (gulp) 12 week old puppy. They are both happier and better behaved dogs, and our relationship has improved immensely - so I am happier too! I've found it to be a wonderful community of trainers and dog owners working together for mutual success. The Argos team is fantastic and works hard for positive results. I'll add I've never seen Argos advocate for 'punishment' or suggest using a crate as anything other than a comfortable place for a dog to feel safe. All the trainers have a very gentle hand and tone with the dogs - my scaredy-cat terriers worship them!

We had three classes with Martin to help us and our lab puppy Mabel learn some basic walking commands. By the end of the first lesson walking her had turned from a hard job to a pleasure. We will definitely go back for a follow up class once we have perfected our new skills.

Argos has been so great for our dog! He’s learned so much in his sessions with Martin and is becoming an extremely obedient dog. Our dog is usually afraid of, and sometimes even aggressive towards, new people, but he LOVES Martin. The techniques we learned have been easy to incorporate into our everyday routine. Our dog has made so much progress at Argos!

Martin and his training staff are knowledgeable, patient, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure the dogs and their owners grasp all aspects of the training program. My dog and I completed training a few weeks ago. We continue to practice commands, techniques, etc., and I look forward to the follow-on training activities with Argos.

I brought my 1 year old Bernese Mountain Dog to Argos for daycare and training. While Luca is the best boy ever he was a stubborn boy who would use his size to decide what he would and wouldn't agree to do. Within 6 weeks he was a different dog in the sense he would now follow direction and simple commands. He also loves going to Argos for daycare and the staff at Argos, especially Jonathan, is truly amazing. It is convenient and affordable and works I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who needs day care and / or training for their dog!!

We brought our Miniature Schnauzer, Simon, to Argos for puppy kindergarten and then structured daycare and training. The experience was amazing. We are so happy with who Simon is after being trained by Martin, Jonathan and Luke. We are planning to keep Argos in our lives going forward. Thanks a ton gents. See you soon.

Jonathan and Martin are wonderful trainers. They have given us the tools to train our dog, provide guidance, and encourage us in the process! Our dog started training with Argos at 4 months of age, and she has quickly picked up on the concepts that Argos teaches. I give all of the credit to their training methods and guidance. It is also clear to me that Jonathan and Martin enjoy what they do. They care about their clients and the dogs they train! We are very happy that we found Argos!

We did the 6 week training program with our French bulldog puppy, and found the program to be really excellent in orienting name to the basics and principles of dog training, and getting my dog initial proficiency in leash training. Very professional, and responsive to individual questions and needs.

My 100+ lbs dog was a nightmare. I tried multiple trainers with little to no success. Finally, I sent him to the Argos overnight training camp, and what a difference it made. He is so much more manageable at home and his leash reactivity has improved dramatically. I have faith that over time he will only get better. Martin and his team give you the tools you need to train your dog. I cannot recommend them enough!

I take my dog here for grooming. He receives a bath, brush, ear cleaning & nail trimming. When i pick him up he always looks super clean, fluffy and fresh with a cute bandana tied around his neck. He smells fresh for a week! He is not the easiest dog when it comes to the nail trimming, but i have never had a problem with the nails. They are very friendly. i will keep taking my dog here.
