Middlesex County Animal Hospital in Billerica is the best in my opinion. I've known the Vet. for many years and had taken my miniature doberman dog their until she pass away 8years on January 21. Very flexible , the personnel are very pleasant. I would recommended this animal hospital to anyone.

Our beloved furry son Robie passed away on December 6, 2021. Robie didn't trust people very much, but I remember a few years ago Robie quietly left with Scott E. Heckerling, DVM, and my husband and I were in awe of the peace and trust Scott gave Robie. We went to this veterinary hospital, even though we live in Acton, Ma. It was also an excellent experience with Steven J. Wharrie, DVM. Congratulations for the true commitment and concern of our furry and thank you for your professionalism. They were there when we needed them and they took the time to call us and always give us the timely information. Robie would have turned 15 on March 8 and is loved and remembered by all of us as a family. Our heart suffers and will be broken forever, because we will no longer see him run and our walks to the lake will not be the same, neither the stars, nor the moon, nor the sunsets nor the sunrises, nothing will be the same. Thanking, enjoying and loving generously is what we must do today. Through my tears, I sincerely thank the doctor for the words of comfort he gave us for the departure of our Robie. Thanks

I waited for an appointment for a sick visit for more than a week, and due to Boston rd traffic I was running 5-10 minutes late. I called to give them a heads up and they canceled my appointment and refused to see her. Mind you you could hear my dog crying in discomfort in the back seat. Then told me next available was the 7 days away. I explained that my dog is in agony and pleaded for them to see her for just 5 mins and that I was outside. That I arrived within the 5 mins instead of ten. Well clearly they refused, now I am on my way to the emergency vet. I took my dogs here for about 10 years since dr Bailey moved here. She left & she left for a good reason. This place does not care if your dog is in agony. I know it’s my fault for being 5 min late but things unfortunately happen. Getting a lab and a baby in the car is hard enough but the traffic on Boston road is atrocious. I will never return and will travel to go anywhere but here. It’s not the same vet that I used to see. Last time they just threw meds at my dog instead of finding out the problem so once the medication was done, we were left in the same situation. So we called for a refill and they refused unless they saw us again, mind you we just saw them.!

I recently moved to Florida but I have to say the years that my fur babies received treatments from Middlesex County were wonderful!!

My poor moms dog was seen for a sickness and the Vet there prescribed him the WRONG medication and not only that but misdiagnosed him with some parasite he didn’t have and they gave him the medication called flagyl and it practically paralyzed him good thing she finally got a call from the vet tech there who said oh no he doesn’t have what we prescribed the medication for and then said the vet was TOO BUSY to talk with his own paitent who he misdiagnosed and hasn’t even tried to fix it and now the dog is laying there shaking and barely eating getting up and he was a lot better then when we brought him in ! Watch out if you bring you pet here unless your putting them down !

When it came time to say goodbye to our little girl, the staff here we very empathetic and gave us all the time we needed. They are zero stress to a very depressing situation. (BTW, it was old age. No fault of the care the staff has provided over the years)

Honestly the best veterinary practice I could have ever asked for!! The front office staff is so kind, knowledgeable, and prompt with making you an appointment or getting any needed information from the doctor. They go above and beyond every time I have called - from fitting a routine procedure into a time that works for me or squeezing me in for an emergency. They have answered dozens of my questions, while also reassuring me and truly caring about my dog. The vet techs are amazing. They are so great with my girl, especially during the curbside appointments when my dog was nervous to go inside without me. They truly love and care for animals and it reflects with everything that they do! The vets I have had the pleasure of meeting (Dr. Shailor and Dr. Heckerling) are truly one of a kind. They talk me through every step of every procedure, they answer my million questions with such patience and genuine kindness, and they are always work in the best interest of my dog. They have called me the day after seeing my dog to see how she was doing, as well as weeks later just asking for a follow up!! You cannot get that kind of care anywhere else!

Dr Wharrie and Staff are excellent. Very compassionate and kind.. love them!! Beautiful place. Parking too. The downside is they close at 430. Need some extended hours. I work full time. And we Still need to wait outside. It's hot now. Ac in my car not great. And Pet has asthma. And I do too. Please allow us indoors with our pets in summer.. it is almost end of June 2021. Thanks

The staff who answer the phone at this vet are extremely unprofessional and rude and have no business working in customer service especially in the care industry. Caroline is extremely rude and unprofessional. She was very sarcastic when I wanted to speak to the veterinarian and placed me on hold several times.

Patient and accommodating. Didn't feel rushed. Doctor answered all my questions and followed up next day with additional information. Also provided me with resources to help decide whether or not to move forward with a procedure.

We have been going to MCAH for almost 5 years and I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Shailor and Dr. Wharrie. They are both fabulous vets and have helped us through some really difficult times with competence and compassion. If they were the only two vets at this practice, I would give MCAH a glowing 5 star review. Dr. Aubert is a different story. When we brought our foster cat in for behaving oddly and not eating, she prescribed anti-nausea meds and sent us home. The cat was acting erratically and was displaying multiple symptoms of rabies - to the point where I asked Dr. Aubert whether it was rabies and she said, "No, if it were rabies she'd already be dead" (Dr. Aubert had been treating this same cat for a leg wound of unknown origin for more than a month). Turns out, the cat had rabies and Dr. Aubert had sent us home with an ACTIVELY rabid cat. This type of negligence is unacceptable - both to my family and my poor foster cat who was clearly suffering. In short, come here to see Dr. Shailor or Dr. Wharrie. I will pay out the nose to see an emergency vet before I bring another pet to be misdiagnosed by Dr. Aubert - and you should too.

I bring our cat's and dog here. The place is clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Any time i call to make an appointment, i either get in with in 2 day's if not, the same day. They really do care about your pet's. I recommend this place to bring your ????'s or ????'s or any other type of animal's you have here.

Middlesex County Animal Hospital is a first rate and extremely welcomed addition to our community. Dr Shailor is caring , compassionate and a top notch Vet. She actually cares when your pet is out of sorts. She always brings us comfort and assurance when we worry about our dog. We depend on her expertise and great bedside manner. The support staff are also great and have the same “caring” mentality when attending and handling your pet. Could never see us going to any other facility for our pets health needs. In a word, they are, “Great”.
