Best Friends Pet Hotel Ashland, Massachusetts

I had a bad feeling about this place since the beginning. Although I just realized my cat was not ready for being in a crate and that is not their fault; I have to say that I wouldn’t recommend this place. From booking for the first time with them, I found my self receiving very little info. Just when I bring my cat I just found out that I could have bring food or other things for him. They will not show you the facilities voluntarily, and there is a reason: they are very neglected. They look old and smelly and crowded with other things- looks like a storage room. When I bring my cat there was another kitty stressed out. Be aware the their policies: My cat got very stressed out and I suggested a vet visit. I was out of state and could not pick him up. This was declined as they believe the cat should be stable on meds for 30 days. I feel the communication was not that great either until the end: the phone was never answered and I would need to send an email so I could get a call. Again, bringing my cat was my mistake. But I would still not recommended even if your cat was appropriate. I appreciate the effort and dealing with my cat until I was able to pick him up. And they gave me a refund for services not provided.

The manager , Meghan is the worst ever . They need to train the staff to handle reservations . I made a reservation well in advance in November for the December Holidays . I get a call from her saying our reservation is canceled and we can no longer board our pet there. We are banned ! No warning , nothing. We have been going there for almost 3 years now. Not even once we were told anything negative about our pet . And suddenly two weeks before the Holidays we get notified of this. The most unprofessional , idiotic staff is in Ashland pets hotel. Their ignorance and mismanagement has costed me $8000 . Because of them I have to cancel my trip . I cannot find any other boarding place this close to the Holidays .Do yourselves a favor and stay away till this new manager Meghan is fired . Wish I could give negative stars.

Who is liable? The groomer slipped and made a nice cut in our Mia’s ear. Needed to get stitched so took a nice trip to the vet. Then she got super sick from the meds. Everyone was super apologetic and I know accidents happen but I assumed they would do what was right for the customer. Vet bill $412 Grooming $115 Emergency vet $401.22

The staff are amazing, but I’m disappointed by the outside administration! The administration is trying to save a few dollars on staff costs, but in the end, it seems likely that the company will lose clients and $$. Pre-pandemic, the hours were 7 AM to 7 PM; this allowed people commuting to Boston to drop their pets off before work, and pick them up after work. The hours were slashed during the pandemic when there were extreme safety concerns and lots of people were working from home. However, they just slashed their hours again, starting this week. It is now impossible to bring a pet there and work a full day in the city. It’s so frustrating because the staff are amazing! This week we started to bring our pet to another facility, but Best Friends is much more convenient and we love the staff! The old saying, “ penny wise and pound foolish“ comes to mind. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - extend your hours back to 7 AM to 7 PM. I just can’t understand how you can survive if your hours only accommodate people who aren’t working or work in the immediate vicinity.

I was a client for long time taking my Beagle for baths and boarding, always had a great service and boarding was easy to book. Unfortunately I was taking care of my mothers in law puppy and took her for grooming for the first time there. Once they gave me her I was a little in shock and didn’t know what to say but I felt so aggravated for the puppy and sad, can’t believe they charged me as they did a terrible job with grooming. I replied their email with my feedback and they never respond. I usually don’t waste my time trying to get justice , I simply stopped going there and found other better places to take them. The cute picture was her before , the other was when I picked her up ????.

(DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE) This establishment has absolutely despicable customer service & even worse grooming abilities. I sent in my 9 month old puppy over two weeks ago, and received appalling service. His hair was left a multitude of lengths all over his body, his underbelly was not even cut, his tail is rough and his nails were not all cut. I could quite literally do a better job at home with an electric shaver.. Since then I have left 3 contact us forms and not once had a response. Just been ignored, it’s ridiculous. Finally after a week I found an email on Facebook and was responded too. I made it very clear we were unsatisfied and all I got was “I need your pets name and the email”, so I responded immediately. It’s now been a week since the initial response and it’s back to being ignored even after reaching out again over two more times. I’m actually appalled, disgusted and infuriated at the way they have dealt with this issue. Would 100% never recommend to anyone. DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE.

Very nice place to board your pets!

They were so accommodating, kind, and caring to my dog Bella for two weeks while I was traveling around the US. They even sent pictures updating me about how she was doing!

The groomers at Best Friends Ashland are amazing. They are friendly and helpful, figuring out the best care for my dog. Also, my dig arrives nervous, but they are able to soothe him right away. They are like his dog aunties!

We’ve used Best Friends in Ashland for grooming, boarding, daycare and day camp. My dog LOVES it. She’s well taken care of, the staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Always friendly knowledge staff. We feel comfortable leaving our little dog there for his vacation! Love being able to view him on video feed while we are away. Safety is great here. They really care about you and your family pet!

We love Best Friends, and so does our dog. We use them frequently when we go out of town, and sometimes even send him to outdoor day camp just to socialize with other dogs.

The staff is always wonderful! They take wonderful care of our guinea pigs and they are very happy when we pick them up. This is the only place we use to board our pets.

I had to involve their attorneys because of safety concerns - I continue to be harassed by this company. Very concerning behavior; I do hope they reconsider how they deal with customers who care about their pets.

They take such good care of our dog! We are moving and won't be able to use their services again and are genuinely sad.

The staff is friendly and they are always excited when Samwise and Ted come to visit. I recommend it to all of my friends in the area.

I love their pet sitting but hate their grooming salon. I don't have any words for them and how my dog has been treated in it,

My dog came home with a swollen paw and I noticed her nails were cut very short. No one told me that they were going to cut our dogs nails! And also she came home with a cold!!! Not a good place to board your dog!!!!!! Never coming back!

I wish I could give zero stars, this place is terrible and does nothing to help/accomodate you. I had booked my dog here for a week of boarding. Upon check in they notified me that they do not take in dogs that are prone to seizures. It has been months since my dog has had her last seizure. Now on Christmas Eve I'm left scrambling trying to find a place for my dog to stay while I travel for the holidays. At no point did they ever state that this is their policy, otherwise I would've never booked my dog here. I strongly recommend that anyone who has a dog with any medical condition seek boarding elsewhere.

All your pets needs in one place. Amazing staff that really care for your pets when you are away.

Best Friends takes wonderful care of my dog. She attends day care (rather than day camp ... she doesn't always play nicely) a few times a week. It is nice that there is a place I can take her during the day that doesn't put her in with other dogs. I haven't found any other places like that in the area. The employees are very patient and clearly love animals.

We boarded our two Labradors this weekend and we were delighted with everything. It was the first time boarding our young one (she's 9 months old), and she clearly had a lot of fun. They were both groomed before we picked them up and they took extra care to de-shed our Bebe. Real personalized care, we would recommend them highly.

Grooming services here are awesome! As the Leasing Consultant at Woodview at Legacy Farms apartments in Hopkinton I am frequently asked for recommendations from our many pet owners who reside here! Best Friend's Pet is ALWAYS on our recommend list! AND, score, it's only a 9 minute drive from our property here!

Our dog Neo absolutely LOVES his day camp. He goes tail wagging every time and loves all his care takers. We have a very happy doggy!

Great staff and our pups both have great stays while we vacation. Ore shy pup gets plenty of solo attention while our social butterfly pup enjoys group play.

My dogs love it here. Always happy in any photos they take.
