Palmer Kennels Acton, Massachusetts

I dropped off my Labrador Retriever there for about a week when I took him home, his front two paws were pink swollen and he had a dark red spot(which looks like a dog bit him) was pretty bad. When I walked him, he couldn’t walk really well and he struggled for two days. My lab is a year and half old and always is very excited and hyper, but after he went to the kennel he was much more sad and tired. He was sleeping a more than an abundant amount of sleep everyday, he is feeling better now but I hope he will have a quick recover. Next time I will not be sending my lab at Palmer Kennels(

Terrible people nell at the front desk is phony they have the concord farm inmates work there and treat them like disposable trash

I've been using Palmer's for 15 years. I've boarded Labs, Sheppard's and Maltese's. The facility is unbelievably clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. All of my dogs get excited when we turn the corner to get into the place. They couldn't be happier to visit and are always happy and tired when they get home. A++ in my book.

Palmer Kennels has always provided excellent boarding services for my dog. The staff is knowledgeable, accomodating, and friendly. I'm always greeted with a smile on arrival and Lucy is sad to leave when I return. Highly recommended A+++ service

I boarded my beloved puppy - 8 months old and he was extremely well cared for, he was boarded in a nice warm kennel, able to come and go to go the bathroom. The place is clean, does not smell and it is warm. Since he was a puppy and not real familiar with other dogs, the owners allowed him to play with their dogs - so that it would be a safe situation. They are all very professional and very caring at Palmer Kennels. The owner comes through in the middle of the night to check on all the dogs. I am bringing my dog back again for another stay and I called to check to see if I should bring bones for him, they said no- that the dogs were given twice/day cookie treats. They are so caring and loving to all the dogs. You could not ask for a better place. After reading on the local papers of missing dogs that were boarded at private homes I am happy to know my dog is safe at Palmer Kennels.

Professionally run and well maintained.

We have been boarding our 12 year old Brittany Spaniel at Palmer for over 10 years. The owners and staff has always been very attentive and professional. Bottom line they are dog people. They go out of their way to make my dogs visit as stress free as possible. Having checked out other kennels in the area, Palmer was by far the best option in my opinion.

My dogs are always happy to be dropped off here, and healthy when I pick them up. The staff usually seem bored and business-like. I would feel happier leaving a loved-one with someone who shows some interest and affection. But they seem to do a decent job.

Each time I board the dog he enters without hesitation. He always seems well fed and cared for. Prices are very reasonable and if you need extra walking or play time they will provide it. We don’t board our dog at any other place at this point.

It has been quite a while since I took my dog there so maybe things are better now. I asked to see the kennel where he would be staying (for a week), I'm glad I asked. It was just concrete and a section of big rocks. Easy to keep clean but not too comfortable for a big Lab. I left him and began to think about it. I went back later that day and took him out. I couldn't go away and leave him in that place. It was dark and gloomy where the dogs stayed. The people seemed nice enough. Just ask to see behind the front office if you go.

Good family dog services. The reason for not perfect score is that I wish they have more flexible hours. For example allow to pick up a dog after 5pm or in the weekend.

This is the best place to board your dog. The staff is very friendly and they genuinely love pets. The property is well maintained and beautifully organized. The runners are of good size. The owner’s labs are adorable. It’s a short and pleasant drive from Cambridge. I strongly recommend this place. This is the third time I board my dog Penny here!

My dog was boarded for 9 days and lost a lot of weight. Could not leave food. Facility seems ok from the outside but did not see inside

Have used Palmer Kennels a few times now, with multiple dogs and I can easily say that they love it here as much as I do. My dogs have all been homebodies, but they recognize the building and the associates and I can't open the door fast enough for them once we arrive. They have all willingly walked in without so much as a whimper. Not sure if I should be the one whimpering. Regardless, everything about this kennel is great. Competitive pricing, and you get a lot for your money.

We feel confident that our lab/golden will be well taken care of at Palmer Kennel. He has ample space to exercise with a 'like minded' roomie and always has an opportunity to go inside for a snooze. Chester spent 9 days @ Palmer's and when we returned he was thrilled to see us, but was not overly clingy, needy etc - which tells me that he was happy while at Palmers. Palmer's accomadates any special dietary needs requested - without charging extra - which some kennels in the area are known to do. Thank you Palmer family!

An excellent place! Our third Cocker goes there now. The staff is kind and very smart with the dogs.We wouldn't go any where else!!

This place is excellent! we've left our dog (choc lab) at another place closer to home but it was more like a glorified shed. palmer kennel is a well run, place, great friendly service. totally recommend. !!
