Happy Dog Pet Resort Abington, Massachusetts

My puppy loves this pet resort owner more than she loves me ????Best place ever . Thank you

We dropped our puppy, Willie Nelson, off for his first exposure to day care. Needless to say he was pretty nervous. Michelle met us at the door and brought us outside with her little guy to a secluded play area. Staff all came over to say hi and comfort Willie. Michelle explained everything about the place and soon enough Willie was off to meet more friends. He was safe and only allowed to be with “the littles”. Mid day nap time, they sent me these pictures and provided an update since it was our first visit. It was very comforting and appreciated. I picked him up during the designated times and he was happy and did great! We both look forward to future visits and felt very safe and comfortable with Michelle and her team.

I always feel great dropping off my dog who absolutely lights up upon arrival. Feels good to know he is so happy when we are away as he is a very nervous dog. Michelle and Chris are the best.

BEWARE PLEASE READ IN FULL I wanted to like this place as I saw so many great reviews on here about it and decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately I didn't go with my gut feeling after also reading some negative reviews and the business owners defensive replies to criticism she was given. I brought my dog in for a trial day which went great he seemed to have a blast and was exhausted when he got home which was exactly what I was looking for however The next time I brought my dog would be staying the night. Due to miscommunication between my partner and I he had dropped our dog Zeus with only enough food for the day . He had spoken to the employees there and they had said that he could come back anytime to drop off food. We both work overnight and he went to drop off food at 6 o'clock on his way to work. Instantly he was met with attitude by the business owner saying " did you not read the sign" referring to a sign on the door stating not to ring the door bell . She then proceeded to give him more attitude when he explained he was just doing what he was told by her employees. The morning we were to pick up she had called him not for an apology for how she handled the situation but rather to address the review he had left on happy dogs Facebook page. The entire phone call she did not recognize her own blatant rudeness rather blamed my partner for "not reading the sign " and interrupting the dogs sleeping. As a customer who was new to the process of boarding and home care you would expect Michelle to be understanding of new clients and recognize that they don't always have all the information provided to them . With this in mind there is a polite way that you can explain how things work at your facility so that there is no need to greet someone with attitude when they are just trying to explain themselves or drop off food for their dog. My partner then proceeded to go to the facility to pick up our dog as we knew that was an environment we no longer wanted to give business to . She refused to return our dog to us at 8am because it was not "the 9am pickup time" . My partner was met by her husband GUARDING the facility looking at an invisible watch on his hand stating " pick up is at 9 am. It's not 9am". After an argument she finally decided to return my dog while CONTINUING TO BELITTLE AND REPRIMAND MY PARTNER for not bringing enough food originally and asking him whether or not I would be happy with my partner due to how the situation transpired. She has a wonderful and creative way of deflecting her wrong doings onto her customers. She will probably gaslight this review and ask for it to be removed. Overall extremely unprofessional experience with michelle and her husband. I hope others don't make the same mistake I did .‍

My Bulldog has been going to a Happy Dog Pet Resort for the past two years. He clearly loves it. He can’t wait to get out of the car when we get there, and when I pick him up he is completely exhausted. Michell and the rest of the staff is super nice and they work hard to entertain the pups. I never feel bad when I board Jax there. I know he will play all day and sleep all night. I must drive by at least 4 doggie day care’s on my way to Happy Dog and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I highly recommend Happy Dog Pet Resort!

I am so disappointed in the phone call I just had with the owner of this place. I'm looking around for a welcoming, safe place to board my dog and as soon as I mentioned my dog was a mix breed, she kept asking if he was a Pitbull. I said we weren't sure what breed he is because he is a rescue and she kept saying that if he didn't "behave" they would put him in a crate for the night. Without meeting him, she already had a bias opinion about my dog. My dog is a social sweetheart and attends daycare, which I mentioned, and she said "then why doesn't he board there". I am so frustrated and cannot believe the way she handled my questions.

My Shiba Inu loves Happy Dog Pet Resort, so much so we encouraged our neighbor to send their golden mix. Now my daughter's ChiWeenie is enjoying her days at Happy Dog Too! All the employees love the dogs so much. I love the facebook video and picture posts every week so we can see the fun they are having.

Happy Dog is amazing! My dog was very shy and not very socialized and she loves daycare. We can't even drive past the street now without her getting super excited and ready to go. They are the only people I trust with her now.

I have been taking my dogs to Happy Dog for 3 years now! Michelle and the entire Happy Dog family are AMAZING and always so accommodating! Our pups get SO excited when they go to doggy daycare and come home exhausted from playing all day long! Happy Dog is also the only place I will board my dogs, knowing they play all day long and sleep together in a cage-less space eases my mind. I would HIGHLY recommend Happy Dog Pet Resort to any dog parent!

Our dog trainer recommended Happy Dog for our very spirited and energetic 7 year old coonhound. I have continued to send her even though I'm working from home because she loves to see her friends and socialize. It's boring at home.

It's a wonderful place to take a dog for a nice long walk. It is also beautiful.

The best! I would only leave my dog with them. The staff are all truly caring - it's obvious they love the pups. The owner is on-site, and she's really created a terrific business. The place never smells, really clean, very organized, sticklers for vet updates and current shots, and, most importantly, the dogs are happy there. It's always hard whenever I leave the fur baby, but I don't have *too much anxiety because I know he's happy and safe.

Everyone at Happy Dog is wonderful. When our previous daycare shut down unexpectedly we had to act fast to find a new daycare for our puppy. Michelle and her team have been amazing, always quick to respond to questions and is great with our puppy. Our puppy comes home tired and always looks like she ahd a blast. The weekly photos on Facebook are a nice added touch.

The owner and staff here as wicked friendly and while my dog Bear doesnt love it yet, hopefully someday he will lol

Our shih tzu has a hard time leaving us, but the second we get inside Happy Dog Pet Resort...he runs off and doesn’t look back! He is always so excited to be there. I trust Michelle and Jamie will always treat him properly while he’s in their care. I love seeing all the pictures and videos of the dogs on Facebook. It gives me peace of mind that my dog is safe, well taken care of, and having fun. He is always so exhausted after daycare, he falls asleep the second he gets in the car. We have our dog come here once a week for day care to socialize and knew we needed to board her for our wedding. It was my first time boarding her, but Michelle always makes me feel comfortable leaving her for regular daycare (my dog is a bit of a baby when I drop her off) but I knew she would be perfectly fine for the night. My dog also needs medication at breakfast and dinner and I could trust Michelle and her employees to make sure my dog got the right dosage at the right time. Other places around maybe cheaper, but I’ll 100% pay more to make sure that not only am I comfortable, but my dog is too ????

Happy Dog and the staff are exceptional. My last dog lived it and my new dog loves it there. They take great care of the dogs and if I am ever late, I let them know and I am reassured all will be Ok.

Everything about Happy Dog is AMAZING: staff, facilities, schedule, communication, pictures... the list goes on!

Michelle, Jaime, and the rest of the Happy Dog crew are incredible! They take such great care of my Tessie and genuinely care about each individual dog. They take the time to learn about each dog’s personality, any little quirks or things that may cause them anxiety. I know she is safe and happy when I drop her off, whether it’s for day care or boarding. I recommend Happy Dog 100%.

I been bringing my two pup here for a few years now (daycare and boarding) and I couldn't say enough good thing about them The owner and staff truly care about the dogs and I feel they are in great hands. My two girls go once a week and they LOVE IT!!! They get so excited when I pull into the driveway and once they're inside the building they NEVER look back. I'm so happy I found Happy Dog Pet Resort and I highly recommend them.

Michelle has 0 customer service skills. Michelle you're dealing with your customers who make your business run, be nice and stop yelling and almost attacking your customers. We don't live in North Korea. BE NICE, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My little pug Tobi has been going to Happy Dog over the past month for day-care and boarding for 10 days and I could not be happier. Tobi loves the facility and is super excited to see his new friends when I drop him off. Michelle and her staff are extremely friendly and show a great deal of love and attention to each dog. The facility is very clean and the entire experience is very professional and efficient. I strongly recommend Happy Dog!!!

2-stars because my dog loved it there. Just be careful if you’re going to be 10 minutes late to pick up your dog because the owner will threaten to not give the dog back that night. I honestly thought I was going to have to call the police. God forbid anything happens and you can’t get there in time. Also, apparently a 4-6 PM pick up window should be more accurately 4-5:30. They don’t like it when you come in too close to 6pm. You get called “non-challant” and shamed for keeping a mother from her baby. Real passive aggressive.

Pat Marble When we adopted Keith, he was afraid of the world and because we both worked we wanted to find a place to bring him where he would be safe and happy. After visiting a bunch of places near where I worked we chose Happy Dog Pet Resort. We were impressed with the size and the staff, especially Michelle and Jamie. Keith is no longer afraid of the whole world and I attribute that to the care and attention he got each day for two years at Happy Dog. I am retired now but still bring him in a couple of days a week to play and hang out. I can't say enough good things about the place.❤️

Our peekapoo,,Winston, loves Happy Dog! Gets so excited when we drop him off! Michelle and Jamie are wonderful with the dogs . I know he’s being taken care of when we leave him there for his “vacation”. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Happy Dog Pet Resort!

I would like to thank Michelle for taking such good care of our Trixie who is a Shorkie. Trixie was there for eight days, the longest we ever left her. I had discussed a problem we had been having with Trixie vomiting bile some mornings and Michelle added some prescription food to Trixie's kibble and solved the problem. They take the time to care for each pet and their specific needs. Trixie is two and a half and we always use Happy Dog. We can go on vacation and know she is getting the best care. You can have piece of mind when leaving your pet at Happy Dog. ????????❤️

I have boarded my Bernese Mountain Dog many times over the past several years at Happy Dog Pet Resort and I only have positive things to say about Michelle and her team there. They are courteous, respectful, and very nurturing to all the dogs there. My dog loves it there and I really appreciate the cage-free aspect of the boarding. Also, there is a great backyard that is setup like a real playground for the dogs. I also enjoy checking in on my dog while I am gone, as they are great with posting a bunch of pictures to their Facebook page. I can't say enough good things about Happy Dogs if you are looking for a place on the South Shore to board your dog.
