Not very good with customer service

I love this place! I have been taking my 9 month old puppy here since he was 2 months. They are great with my dog knowing exactly who he is without them calling for us. My dog always comes back happy and so that makes me happy. Great place ????

Friendly staff, reasonable prices and wait times are not long. They seem to very carefully schedule appointments to minimze the number of possible pet interactions in the waiting area or hall. Procedures and diagnoses are throughly explained in plain language and estimates for recommended follow-up care are provided. Definitely recommend!

Dr Murphy is great, really cares for all pets and their owners!

This has been my go to vet clinic since I got my kitten from the shelter. I've never been to another vet, so I can't compare. But service is nice and price is reasonable.

We used to bring our two cats to him when we lived in DC (99-2009). He was expeinced, warm & gentle with our cats. We couldn't ask for more. We had tried one in Gaithersburg and one in Rockville, but they were no as experienced nor caring about our pets.

Great staff Dr is prompt and engaging, concerned and knowledgeable. Took care of my Shaye Shaye!

Took me and my cat as a walk-in/mini emergency, very reasonably priced, and I was out on a little over an hour (once the drugs wore off!). Thinking about switching to them full time.

Efficient and caring animal care

I got a dog from the New York Avenue Animal Shelter and you get one free two week Healthy Check up and I chosed The Capitol Hill Animal Clinic also especially since my daughter has been there before with her dog and cats. So I would like to recommend it as a friendly safe place to take your pets.

Been going here for about 6 years now and I love the care that my dogs get. This year, one dog stopped walking suddenly and Dr. Murphy knew exactly what was wrong right away and made sure we went to the proper place for him to get surgery. Not to mention that the front desk ladies are amazing as well.

Staff is nice, vet is experienced, location is convenient. They just seemed desperate for business, making calls every few weeks to set up new appointments.

I am active duty military and was new to the area last July. I found this clinic bc of its proximity to my house. I am very bias when it comes to Vets bc my grandfather was one and there is a high standard of care that I require because simply put, our pets are our children. I brought my sweet 120 pound pup Neko here and I can say from the depths of my soul that Dr. Murphy and his staff are incredible. Doc reads his patients notes when the fur-parents call to schedule appts. He doesn't push unnecessary drugs buying into big pharma. He takes time after your appt to answer any questions you may have. He is gentle and kind to our loved ones. His staff even follows up if you forget to make your follow up appts. My sweet pup had to cross the Rainbow Bridge a few weeks ago. Dr. Murphy and his staff let's us bawl our eyes out, comforted us, and maintained compassionate professionalism the entire time. Doc even sent a hand written sympathy card to us in the mail expressing his condolences. For as long as I remain in DC, (and if Doc doesnt retire), I will be recommending this practice with the highest of endorsements. The next four legged child in my life will have Dr. Murphy as its Vet. Dr. Murphy and his staff are incredible.

unethical practice, affiliated with shady "rescue", people should be able to seek help for an animal without having to worry about them being stolen from them.

If there was a 0 star, I would have chosen that. Very disturbed to hear that this clinic reported an animal transport company to animal control. The transport sought their help with a sick dog, and they were ultimately responsible for the animals being taken by an animal rights group. I would give this some thought for those that are their clients. If they dont like what they see when you bring your pet in for care, you could very well have it taken away from you. I would suggest looking for a new vet immediately.

My dog has been a patient at this clinic for almost 4 years. She is a boxer mix and has seizures so she needs medication. She had one so bad that it almost killed her when she was young- so the medication is very important. The reason for this one star review is that the clinic said they would call in her medication last week- but they didn't and now they are closed (on a Wednesday). We can't get a hold of anyone and she has no more pills. I might have only given a two star review if this was the first time this has happened, but it is not. In fact, I cannot think of time where the vet called in the prescription as they were supposed to, in a timely manner. It always results with us having to tell them to call it in. My dog is in need of medication and this clinic has finally proven itself to be beyond negligent. They have now entered the realm of dangerous due to their negligence. I will be immediately switching clinics- and hope I do not have to take my dog to the emergency vet because of this situation. UPDATE: They called in the prescription and our dog will have medication. I'll increase a star- but we'll still be leaving due to the aforementioned situations.
