We’ve been going here for about 5 years, but this last time we went my dog came out of the back room where they take the dogs in to give vaccines, etc.(without owners present) extremely stressed and traumatized. I don’t think I can ever trust this place again with my dog.

They turned the diagnosis process for our cat into a mess and a nightmare. Because we trusted this vet, our cat, whom we were having to syringe feed due to lack of appetite, was left for more than a week without any proper diagnosis nor treatment. We came in on 12/27 Monday with symptoms of loss of appetite and lethargy. We had informed them that symptoms had started on Thursday, worsening through the weekend. They did blood tests, found nothing, potentially injured his leg in the process, and scheduled us to come back a week later, 1/4 Tuesday, for ultrasound and x-ray follow up, knowing that he was not eating at all by himself. No treatment plan was provided. Come Tuesday, when we arrived to the office, they told us they cannot in fact do ultrasound nor x-ray because they don't have the equipment in the office. They had us waste a week to bring our cat in, just to refer us to an emergency vet, all the while being aware that he was not eating on his own. All emergency vets in the area were at capacity at the time. Had we known they were not equipped to diagnose him in the first place, we would have scheduled a visit with a properly equipped vet or visited the emergency vet hospital much much sooner. Instead, we were left with no diagnosis and no treatment more than a week into symptom onset. Our cat came to the brink of death and was diagnosed later with hepatitis due to anorexia. I should have been much more cautious about this vet and be vigilant to get a second opinion right away.

Dr. Klare and the staff were great. They spent a lot of time with my pets, were very caring and seemed to really enjoy their job. It was my pets' first time at a vet and Dr. Klare and staff made it go far, far smoother than I thought it was going to go. Highly recommend!

We have been taking our pets to Atlas Vet since 2012. They used to be wonderful, but in the last several years, the service has become gradually worse until recently, it is frankly deficient in nearly every way. Newly hired staff are blatantly rude with front desk clerks who refuse to schedule appointments, return calls, and hang up on you. It took us six weeks to get through to even schedule an appointment for a surgery Atlas's own vets recommended. The final straw has been a front desk clerk who accused me of having an attitude because I asked a question about my pet's post-surgical care. We've been getting conflicting medical advice from constantly shifting vets and also discovered that a doctor was not present for a procedure that typically requires one. It's not even a matter of customer service at this point, but just common decency and honestly, safety of my pets that I feel is inadequate here.

I love this vet office! Every time we come in, the staff always remembers my dog and is very caring and helpful. The veterinarian is AMAZING with my dog and I would highly recommend seeing them!

I had the pleasure working with Thomas on my dog’s separation anxiety. He took an awesome approach helping me with all interactions with my dog and then dove right into setting up my dog for success when I’m away. In two weeks, I have seen improvement in my dogs behavior and comfort when I’m away. Definitely worth the money and was much better for me than a 10 week program. Thank you so much!

We absolutely LOVE AtlasVet. The very first time I visited, the front desk greeted us with excitement. Since then, I have visited the office multiple times and the treatment has remained consistent, especially from Zain! He is always going the extra mile to ensure the check in and check out process is done efficiently and stress free. Dr. Zaritsky performed a dental surgery for my 13 year old dog, who was suffering from severe dental disease and the results were better than I hoped for! Their wonderful Tech Manager, Traycie, followed up with me every step of his post surgery and made Caramelo’s recovery a priority. It has been about a month since the surgery and he is now eating kibble again, even with his gummy smile! Dr. White saw my one year old labrador retriever who we rescued from Puerto Rico and is terrified of strangers. She walked in the room and immediately made a connection with him. She even sat on the floor with him the entire time to be at his level and make him feel comfortable! A doctor…sitting on the floor…the entire time… to make her patient feel comfortable, need I say more? She was PHENOMENAL in calming his anxiety and now he wants to go to AtlasVet even when it is just to drop off his older smaller brother. All thanks to Dr. White! Thank you to the entire team at AtlasVet, especially Dr. Miller, Dr. White, Dr. Zaritsky, Traycie, and Zain!

I’ve been taking my cats to Atlas Vet for just shy of two years now, but my recent experience with the curbside check-in and wait process was stressful enough that I will most likely take my cat to another practice if they are still doing curbside check-in the next time he needs care. Going to the vet is already stressful for a cat, but the 10-15 minutes we had to wait outside on the very busy and loud H Street were miserable. My poor cat howled and thrashed in his carrier with every bus/ATV that went by. The entire time I was standing on the street, there was only one checking-out client in the waiting area, but their lobby is big enough to allow for social distancing. I don’t understand why fully vaccinated, masked pet owners cannot sit socially distanced in the lobby. I have no issues with the quality of care received by the tech or doctor, but I will say that the front desk staff is not the friendliest. I haven’t experienced any outright rudeness, but they are not warm and inviting, either. The fee for a routine yearly exam is $77, which is quite steep. Other practices I’ve been to in the area have charged around $55/$60.

After trying a few different vets, I found Atlas. You definitely get what you pay for. The service is top notch. The patient rooms are carpeted with comfortable furniture and there are no metal exam tables. It is a relaxing environment for yourself and your pet. While parking may be a little bit of a struggle depending on the time of day you arrive, there is nothing else to have an issue with. After all, it is DC. If you are trying to find a vet, do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Atlas.

Pricey but they are attentive and truly care for your animal. Zain is awesome. He remembers everything. Dr. McCurdy and Dr. Hodgkins are pretty fantastic!

I recently had a bad experience in my previous vet practice (I’m very overprotective of my dog) and found Atlas. They didn’t have any appointments for new clients soon, but a space cleared up and they called me to squeeze me in. I appreciate their personalized care, calling me and my dog by first name basis, and the Doctor was amazing and kind. Every single one of the staff members was very kind and attentive.

Excellent vet. They really take care of Fievel, our sassy Pomeranian. Very fast to respond to issues. Even people who answer the phones can quickly help in an emergency or assist with basic questions about doggie health and behaviors. Really lucky to live down the street.

Been taking my two dogs there for a bit. The quality of service is great. Great value in my opinion and everyone has been so professional on each visit and on each call. They are reliable and very responsive to my dogs' needs. Street Parking out front. If your visit is long, plenty of places to grab a bite to eat while waiting.

Dr. Klare is amazing, as my dog has gradually come to dislike Vet visit, she could since my concern for the stress level of my dog and immediately provide words of comfort. That alone is a ten rating, five start, stellar performance. I was able to ask as many question as I wanted without feeling rushed which for this practice and the number of animals they see can be understandable. The team there was also aware when it was time to go, "it was time to go". My dog knew the visit was over and was ready to get out the door. The team made a clear path for us to go straigt out the door and allowed me to checkout over the phone. I am very, very happy with Dr Klare and the team here.

This place used to be good and had excellent service. But they have hired some very rude and unprofessional people that have no empathy or sympathy and have no place in this business. My dog had a medical emergency this morning with facial swelling. Intead of offering "urgent care", which I later learned about they scheduled me at 3pm, and showed a complete lack of empathy by rambling about records, I had to redirect that person's attention and tell them I was really just worried about my dog and not concerned about the update to my records (which I emailed weeks ago about). A lot of ridiculous red tape that just getting thrown my way. I did arrive a few minutes late and they proceed to tell me about a 10 minute policy which they didn't mention. First the person hung up and then called me back, about 5 minutes later and told me I would need to reschedule. The person on the line redirected me to a "manager" , and that manager said I would need to reschedule or I could pay an "urgent care" for an additional $110 fee. This new fee would have been great to know about at 8am this morning. I was told by the manager "well other doggies eyes hurt too so we have to be fair to them as well."... which was said said in the most passive aggressive manner. I am so disgusted by this service and lack of empathy that I have lost all trust in the vets, at this practice. It has forced me to seek another vet for my dogs urgent care needs, because I know my dog's health is not a concern for the current staff working at Atlas vet.

I like Atlas and used them in 2012 and the service stuck with me. I inquired about vet care for my dog. Her rear end was raw and bleeding. I was told, "Yes, she should be seen". The guy finally found me in the system under my older dog and stated, "I had a different dog then" and I stated "Yes" (there was a long pause) and he reiterated my dog should see a vet. I said "Thank You" and we hung up. After thinking about it ..... I called back and identified myself as the previous caller and asked, "Would/Could Atlas see my dog"? He said "Yes" and gave me an appt. Why did I have to call back? Yes, different dog.... But, DO YOU WANT MY BUSINESS?

I see some fake reviews for this here place. I don't trust any business that uses employees or hires to write fake reviews. All the one stars I see seem to be on point with my knowledge about Atlas Vet. Be better Atlas.

Atlas Vet is great! They are friendly and caring. They always do a wonderful job thoroughly explaining procedures, what's going on during check ups and payment structure. It's all very transparent and you can tell everyone there cares about pets and their jobs. I would recommend them to anyone in DC looking for quality care for their pets!

The staff at Atlas Vet are always so nice and understanding! We always have a great experience with them, even though our dog is nervous to go to the vet. They're very patient and it's clear they care about owners and their pets. Would highly recommend.

I took my new cats to AtlasVet this week and was so pleased with the entire office experience. Everyone from front desk staff to vet techs to the vet (Dr. Zaritsky) was so friendly and helpful. These cats are the first pets I've had and I really appreciated how everyone was so kind to me and patient with my long list of questions! Highly recommend!

Great 'bedside manner' from Dr. Cartlidge and all the vet techs. Very clean facility with comfy patient waiting rooms. Had a little trouble finding street parking, but wasn't to far a walk.
