When I first got Rockie, he was 6 months and full of life! He wanted to know everything! The only thing he didn't like was getting his nails clipped. The lady clipped one down too short and it bled so as he was crying, I was too. We finished and he's good. Still hates getting them clipped, but he knows he has to. In fact, we're going tomorrow morning ❤️ I love this clinic. Nice service, clean, very pet friendly and convenient to and from my home. Anaconda Animal Clinic will ALWAYS be our home for pet care. Thank you Dr. Ashley & your team! Y'all Rock!!

Two days before Christmas, while visiting from out of town, my dog tweaked his leg and was quite uncomfortable. The receptionist here was so kind on the phone and let us know they closed early that day but could fit us in if we were able to get over there quickly. I had called 15 other clinics who were all booked out even for emergencies (understandably, with the pandemic and staffing issues all places are experiencing) so I was already so appreciative they were able to see my poor ouchy old man! The lovely, kind ladies at the animal clinic of Anacostia were able to fit my pup in quickly after arrival, do a quick exam to confirm nothing was majorly wrong, get meds on board, and they were so sweet to me, his worried mom throughout! Their prices were also extremely reasonable, and I witnessed them provide the same kind care and attention to another gentleman in the lobby with an ill dog as we were on our way out (the staff was staying late to make sure that pup was cared for). So many thanks to Dr Ashley and the rest of the ladies, and I can’t recommend their kind care enough!

Very good service, though time consuming wait. I would suggest that they go to an online appt system to minimize the wait time.

Dr. Ashley is wonderful. This is the best animal clinic in DC. Very ethical, compassionate with intuitive advice based on decades of experience not motivated to make a quick buck by recommending risky procedures for the bottom line. A breath of fresh air. 10 stars.

They used to have longer hours, but COVID shut that down. Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-11 am, Thursday there closed, Saturday 9-11:30 am. If you go on Saturday get there around 6:30, ijs they come out early and only take a certain number of clients.

5 stars all the way. I started taking my pet to them as soon as we got him at 2 1/2 months. They have ALWAYS been professional, courteous, & reliable. They give great resources and are willing to answer all the questions of a new pet owner. Their prices are way more than fair. As long as you get there early you will be seen.

I would give 10 stars if I could! Animal Clinic of Anacostia is phenomenal. It was the overall experience for me. I don't care about my time in this circumstance, I care about the quality of care that my pup receives. Dr. Ashley and her team are stealthy, kind, supportive and informative. All other vets in the DC metro area have been doing dog only vet check ups, meaning, I wait outside while my pup goes in without my support and guidance. With that, my pup boy suffers from anxiety and Dr. Ashley, today not only instilled confidence in me, but in my pup also to get our vaccinations completed safely! I felt confident and comforted by our overall experience today, and we will absolutely be coming back. Thank you Animal Clinic of Anacostia!

So there's a pandemic but y'all don't take appointment so we just show up and wait with a crowd? That makes absolutely no sense in the middle of pandemic except more $ for y'all. Not how to show concern for your customers.

I soo them...They are very good about appointments and make you feel like part of the family. They always treated Norie like he was one of their own. The prices are reasonable and they are always willing to work with you.The staff always gave me the utmost respect. They understand that pet ownership can be expensive. They always gave me the best advice about pet care, grooming, training how to get pet insurance, denistry, grooming and ways to budget when times got hard.I highly recommend them.

Worst clinic ever! I stood outside in the line for about one hour. Then I waited for more 2 hours to them to call me and nothing! When I decided to check what was going on, the person was really rude and said they did call me! Yes of course... I just like to waste hours of my morning wanting for no reason! Not professional and really disorganized!

My first experience wasn’t too bad. I had to wait about two and half hour, but I got to see the doctor and the service was fine. Very bad experience this time though! I waited in line for 2 hours and didn’t get to see the dr. People lined up at the front door since 8:30 and Kiki at the front desk let people in that just walked in with no order; which wasn’t fair to all the people standing in the line for long time. When we complained she provided a sign in sheet. She got mad when after 2 hours waiting I asked her how far is she in the list, so I know what to expect. I realized still it is gonna be at least one and half hour wait. So considering the long wait and staff’s disrespectful attitude I decided to leave and I won’t be going back there. So if you decide to go there be prepared for a very long wait and being treated in an unfair and disrespectful manner!!!

The person at the front desk!!! He was awesome and very helpful. I thought my dog was dieing and he must of saw the look on my face. Once I enter the clinic he said you okay please take a seat. Everything is going to be okay. They were very caring and nice. Once I saw the doctor she was very helpful and the best part about they told me that my dog was going to be okay. I recommend this clinic. The parking does suck. But, the service is excellent.

Greetings, I want to start by saying that everyone was nice and seem to know what they were doing, I was impressed........UNTIL the next day, so let me tell you my story. I realize that after having a dog for 13 years that his time was getting near but based upon his daily interactions with me, he thought he was still a puppy. I took my friend of 13 years to Anacostia Animal Clinic, I arrived at 6 pm and was seen roughly 30 minutes later. I explained how Jack had been lethargic and was concerned with his teeth but was told that it wasn't that bad, I questioned why the blood test was 140 or 150 dollars (their exact estimation) when another clinic was only half of that but the money was not important, my friend was in need of caring and loving hands. Jack was given a IV and I mentioned that it was leaking onto his fur vs being taken in but I was told that it happens like that, some will leak out, Jack was on the IV for roughly 5 minutes, blood was taken and all the while, I was telling them about his normal behavior, hated other dogs, would not let anyone cut his toenails and the last time it was done, he was put under. Jack allowed all the poking and cutting, not one sound came from him and I spoke about how unusual it was for him, so now that blood had been drawn, IV attempted (I paid good money for that IV which did not happen) it was time to take Jack back home, I was allowed to get my car and parked in front of the clinic, the Nurse carried Jack out to me. I was grateful because this same person told me not to pull Jack when I arrived, he just wasn't himself so she put him in the car and I went home. Once home I layed on the floor and rubbed Jack and talked to him and promised him that everything would be better in the morning. I must have fallen asleep around 10 and woke up at 5 am, I looked over at Jack and he was not breathing, I got out of the bed to inspect and Jack was hard, rigamortis had set in (looking shocked) no amount of words can describe the hurt I felt, Jack was a great friend and loved my company. That Saturday (Next day) I went back and spoke with the doctor since the results of the blood had come back and all I know is my dog had a high amount of white blood cells and when broken down, one had a high number of old soldiers while there where no young soldiers to do any extended fighting.......nobody could tell me what killed my beloved friend. I pondered this for a few days (4) trying to decide if I should write this and after thinking about everything, all I know is I was not given any pertinent information concerning my pet.....why wasn't I told to take him to emergency, why wasn't he kept on the IV for a period longer than 5 minutes, why wasn't I told of the seriousness of his condition? My beloved friend did not last 6 hours after leaving the Anacostia Animal Clinic....Considering that they were only open from 6 pm until 7, makes me feel like production line medicine was in effect, get them in and get them out so that you can see the next person or pet. I have read so many wonderful reviews about this place but that was not my experience, I wasn't even offered any of my money back bu this was never about money, it was about the health of my beloved friend of 13 years who had no idea how old he was......he didn't even respond to doggie snack........the magical remote control which always got his attention but on 24 Jan 2020, he was taken in to see someone who better understood his condition than myself and on 25 Jan he departed because the treatment lacked something which would have kept him alive.......Sir your dog is sicker than what we can handle, take him to the emergency room..........words which were never spoken

My puppy I just adopted had worms and needed her shots asap and they helped. The staff And patient parents was so nice at this vet office. Very friendly environment and comfortable. Someone dog pooped on the floor twice and the receptionist/veterinarian assistant just smiled and cleaned it up and said accidents happen how professional! I called around to other offices in my area and was told 220 and up for my babies shots and visit for 1 pup. At this office here, I paid under 100 dollars for both my puppies to have their shots dewormed along with their rabies tags. I live up northwest and travel to southeast for the vet that should tell you how great this place is. And great on our pockets as pet Parents.

Love Love Love Love Love Dr. Ashley and staff. This is a small establishment but trust me, well known! People line up outside with their pets to have Dr. Ashley look at them. She doesn't push to have expensive things done, her medication and exams are not expensive, and she is honest about things. My dog is old and has a tumor on his spleen, she didn't recommend I do surgery, advising he's old, he won't be able to make it through it, etc. I called her crying about him being sick and she actually called me back and prescribed meds and had me come pick them up! I didn't even have to bring him again! She is the BOMB! She's an older lady and I think she might be gearing up to hang up the stethoscope soon but while she's there, so am I!
