NOT AN ER. Pre-pandemic, they were mediocre, providing average care with polite enough staff. Mid-pandemic it took over six hours in the middle of the night, waiting in the car for them to treat one of our cats. (Not even going to get into the fact that they told us he was dying from pneumonia, gave us really expensive meds, and 'not much hope', upon turfing us out with over a $2000 bill... only to have our real vet see him the next afternoon and say he had a slight fever, clear lungs, and that he was severely misdiagnosed. That was September of 2020. That cat is still healthy and still living, no thanks to them.) Since the Pandemic, they are no longer a pet ER. They would prefer to LET YOUR PET DIE than take walk-ins. (They require a referral to be seen and will refuse you at the door if you don't have one.) This is done out of convenience to them and their staff, not consideration or care for your pet. PLEASE STOP ADVERTISING YOURSELF AS A PET ER. You are not a PET ER any longer; you are not operating 24hrs. No vet in their right mind is going to be awake and available to give an animal, who is having an emergency, a referral to your facility in the middle of the night.

I did not have a good experience. The staff member “Grace” treated me with rudeness and showed little care to the issues my baby was having. Shame on you for hiring someone like this.

The entire staff and doctor were amazing to me and my dog. I ended up having to put her to sleep, and on the most horrible day, everyone at pet er was so caring and compassionate. I highly recommend them. Thanks to everyone there for making me feel like family.

I recently brought my cat to the Towson Pet ER in panic because he had fallen so ill. At 3am after taking my call and hearing the symptoms they encouraged me to bring him in immediately. They did what they could for my life companion of over 12 years. Sadly, he went to rest for the final time around 4:30am. Having been in the room when our family dog passed many years ago (different place and Dr), I was terrified it would be the same nightmare situation. However, the employees at this facility were incredibly empathetic and professional. They helped my cat pass peacefully and ended his suffering from long term problems. As gut wrenching as it was to lose my partner, I had the consolation of knowing his final moments were handled well and I was able to be with him. Just as I will never forget my Boba kitty, I will never forget the compassion employees showed both my cat and myself. I will be eternally grateful. Your pet will be in the best of hands at this Pet ER.

Great communication about our dogs health and very nice people there. I just want to add that if you're looking for the place on google maps, put in the address for Atlantic Vetinary otherwise you end up circling around the seperate parking lot behind their building like I did.

Our vet and Local emergency vet referred our dog Sugar to the Towson ER last Monday. She was one sick little girl, upon arrival we were taken to an exam room right away. Dr. Lamare was so kind, caring, and compassionate while examining Sugar, explaining everything to us and then admitting her to critical care. He followed up with us after every test and allowed us to come as a family to visit daily. Sugar received phenomenal care both before and after her emergency surgery. The 4 days she spent there we had constant communication with Dr. Lin, Dr. Lamare, and Dr. Richardson as well Dr Shih in cardiology and our surgeon. All the techs and staff were so kind and caring to both Sugar and our family . We owe them all tremendous gratitude for saving our precious girl. Happily she is recovering now and doing terrific.

I've had to use this place on a few occasions once when a Rover stay ingested poison before she was dropped off to me. And once when dog was very sick due to an anxiety attack that caused her to eat her bed. On December 5 I called the Pet ER around 330am and asked if it was busy because I needed to put my cat to sleep. I didn't want her having to suffer for another 7 hours and wait for the regular vet to open. The staff was so kind and compassionate as they wached a 31 year old man cry as he went through this the first time. I was able to put on the table my cats little bed I made for her, her favorite pony, and her absolute favorite a sock of mine. I said I had made paw impressions earlier that day of her feet and they offered to make me better ones because all u wanted was her paw prints. December 5, 2021 was a very sad day for my family. But the staff at the Pet ER treated my Nuz with respect and dignity and loved on her until the end. Thank you.

This place did justice for my 8 month old kitten when no other vet seemed to do so. My 8 month kitten suddenly became very ill, out of no where. I took him to two other vets, all they did for me was drain my pockets and tell me to call them back the next morning. There would be no next morning, he wasn’t going to make it through the night. I was sent home and told twice that they were get back to me about blood work as they had found fluid in my kittens lungs and surrounding his heart. As soon as this Pet Er saw my baby, they knew they needed to get him in right then and there. For the first time, I saw people that actually were in it for the love of the animal. They took him and let us jump the wait line. After this, I witnessed my little guy get the best possible care he could have. It was too late, however, they made his last moments of life so comfortable. Right away the doctor new it was FIP. The compassion, kindness, empathy, and respect this place has is truly heart warming. Every.single.staff. Member was truly concerned about our Baby Franks needs and our own. They let us say bye in the pandemic, and in addition to this I was able to go in with Frank the entire time he was inside their ER, unlike any other vet. In addition to this, the kind staff at this place took the time to write me a card and it was signed by all staff members AND they sent me a paw print memorial of my Kitten that I will have forever. Thank you guys for being such an awesome place and truly caring about the animals. You guys are the best and I will forever recommend you guys to anyone with an emergency! Helped me through the hardest night of my life!

Although my cat did not make it today, the medical personnel rushed to try save her. I however wish they’d admit the pets first while checking in. I feel I wasted some precious minutes while booking her in. She didn’t make it past the ER doors.

Took our dog Brandi in for a swollen face, possible dental issue. After waiting in an exam room, finally we see Dr. MILLER. Sorry to say all she cared about was the money and not my dog. No, thanks never again. You get a response that the owner will be contacting you about this and guess what they dont.

I highly recommend Pet+ER in Towson. Our dog Blue just came home last night from having surgery due to a blockage in his intestines. Every single staff member was amazing! We were always kept up to date with any information they had and they took wonderful care of our boy during his stay. Thank you all for the exceptional care you gave him and we are so happy to have our baby back home ????

Our cat Gemma was diagnosed with diabetes this past year and has had to go to Pet ER in Towson twice for complications related to diabetes. The exceptional veterinary care provided to our cat has saved her life. We are very grateful to have sent her into their care. We were given updates on her throughout her stay on her progress. Dr. Hershner, Dr. Richardson, Dr. Hopkins, Dr. Lin, vet nurses, and front desk admitting...thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Exhorbitant fees, beware! $550 for an ultrasound, $483 for X-rays, was quoted $4000-$6000 for a surgery that my other vet said would do for $2000. Final bill is always at the high end of their estimate. These guys know they have you over a barrell in a pet emergency and they take advantage of that. Was told essentially they could find nothing wrong with my dog, final bill $3300!! Go elsewhere if you can.

My little boy (Bolt) had to be hospitalized here a few days ago and I can’t say enough good things about them! Doctors Miller & Lamare were absolutely wonderful.. They followed up with me on Bolts progress throughout the entire way and were extremely patient with me as I was a mess and crying (Bolts a mommas boy). I feel that he got the absolute best care here and it made me feel at ease! Everyone else that I came in contact with were wonderful as well when I came to visit him. He is now at home and recovering well. I would highly recommend this ER to anyone that has animals with medical emergencies. 10/10. Thanks for being awesome!

I brought my cat here and received excellent service. There was someone that took my cat immediately and she was seen by the doctor on duty soon after. The doctor was transparent with her treatment and took her time to make sure we understood our options. I hope I never have another emergency, but I’d come back if I needed.

Cannot say enough about the caring, compassionate staff here. My dog Chloe presented with labored breathing and cyanosis on a Thursday morning. The team met us at the door and evaluated her quickly. The whole time she was there, they communicated with us about her progress and we were even able to visit with her with our other dog. She stayed the weekend and was finally stable enough to bring home on Sunday. We were able to have some really good days with her before she passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her furry brothers and sisters. A huge thank you to Dr. Richardson, Dr. Lamare, Dr. Davis, Dr. Lin, and all of the nurses and technicians who helped her and us through this process. You are all the best!

My 11 year old dog passed away almost a month ago at the Pet ER of Towson. The 7 women (techs and doctor) who tried to save my dog's life went above and beyond, they made a traumatic situation much better than it could have been. I am not sure how they do the job they do but they are angels on earth. And to the gentleman who walked me through everything I thank you for your sweetness and understanding. I did not want to be alone and you let me stay in the hospital room with my dog for as long as I needed, while you were all in the room. I think about you all every day and want to thank you.

I’m super greatfull they saved my dog after he got attacked by another dog, but this place is a complete rip off. I paid almost $3,500 for my dog to be there overnight and having a surgery to get drains in. This is completely outrageous. I wonder what happens to people and their beloved pets if they can’t afford to pay $3,500 to save them. I recommend you have another clinic’s number stored in your phone for emergency cases. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

My wife and I took our cat (Isabelle) in after she began screaming in pain. We were greeted in the parking lot by a sincerely caring technician who swept our cat away for evaluation. Dr. Davis was working that night and was able to make a diagnosis. She was friendly, caring, and very knowledgeable. They kept Isabelle overnight for observation and treatment. The following day, Dr. Richardson called us multiple times with updates and information. Dr. Richardson was also extremely kind and caring and was able to suggest treatment options. Ultimately we took Isabelle home and we are currently enjoying some of our last days with our baby. It is refreshing to know that if we have another emergency, there will be someone available to help. Thank you all so much for the kindness and care you showed to both us and our cat.

We brought our dog in last- she was having a severe allergic reaction to something and her symptoms were escalating quickly. I knew we would have a wait (Friday night after 8 p.m. and while our dog was uncomfortable she wasn't critical)- they were so great about updating us & when she was seen the vet & support staff were all really, really kind. It was clear that they see many people and their pets at some of the most distressing times in their lives and the outcome isn't always sunny. It's also clear that the staff is committed to providing the best care & advice possible- and I really appreciate them. Thank you!

Even when you have a referral the older lady that answer the phone will tell you, you can come in because your issue is not an emergency. They will hang up on you and that not respectable for any job.

I brought my cat here after he experienced a suspected blood clot at the urging of his usual vet. He wasn't breathing when he arrived and the staff and doctors jumped into action to attempt to resuscitate him. Unfortunately he didn't make it but I was very satisfied with the effort of the doctors as well as the compassion I received after realizing he had died. I had an issue with the spelling of his name on the urn from the cremation service, but the front desk staff was very helpful and warm in resolving the issue for me. I even received a sympathy card with multiple notes from the staff which was very much unexpected but so greatly appreciated.

This place deserves zero stars. My Dad and I had taken my mom's senior diabetic cat to this facility. They wanted a three thousand dollar deposit with an estimate of SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!, with no explanation of which procedures needed to be performed! We went to another vet, who diagnosed an inoperable blood clot, so for a senior cat who had already suffered with cancer, diabetes and one eye for many years, we had to let him go. I appreciated the other doctors' honesty, it seems to me that Pet+ER may have been wise to this inoperable situation, and we might have fallen for a seven effing dollar + ruse , had we not sought another opinion. When I was googling Pet+ ER I happened to find a former employee who had a conscience complain about the money hungry tactics of this place, too bad we wasted time here, this place was recommended by surprise, surprise, another Vet. Hmm, kick-back? Who knows? Possibly.

I visited for the first time on 8/29 for the sudden loss of my cat Meatball. This was completely unexpected and I was very nervous because I had never been here and I was trusting a new place with my little Meaty. I just received a very sweet card that had hand written notes from the staff. I was also very happy to pick up my sweet boy this past week as well. ( I was worried only because I had a bad experience with a Vet Clinic - shall not be named) Thank you to the kind staff for everything. <3

The vet here, gives Vets a bad name. One of the worst experiences I've had this morning. I had to take my dog in this morning for an emergency, I was a wreck, scared, nervous, while trying to comfort my baby girl (dog). We waited in a room for almost 2 hrs, because there wasn't a Vet onsite, only techs. Upon the Vet coming into our room, asking what was going on, no more than 3 mins later, was trying to advise and sell euthanasia and cremation packages. We had to ask for this medicine shot that was briefly mentioned in the begining but stated they didn't expect it to work, before the cremation package was offered. Asked again, before VET again stated, we don't expect the medication to work. Well we would like to Try, not just going to give up that easy. Again tried to sell the euthanasia. They said they had to take her to get weighed before they give give her meds, fine. More then a few mins go by, where is my dog? I'm looking, no sign, she's on a Gurnee mind you, because her back legs aren't currently working for her right now. Tech said she's coming, they weighing her, and giving her meds, I said they were only supposed to weigh and give the meds out here. Had us fill out a packet for numerological appt. But asked for your driver's license, and credit card info on the paperwork, after I stated I'm not putting this on the paperwork, they said we'll you have to to do the numerological appt. I said then I don't want it, we will take her to her regular vet, the tech ran to the back yelling for the Vet to notify them that we didn't want the nuero consult that we were already told wouldn't even be available until much later this afternoon or even evening. So yet another red flag, or nail in the coffin shall we say. Not a good visit or vibe at all, no comfort from the vet at all, lack of compassion. After a visit from our regular vet shortly after here, we are on meds, and very hopeful for recovery. And they wanted to put my baby girl to sleep. How dare you

My dog came in critically ill and the staff was incredible. I know things are more challenging during COVID but the phones are answered promptly and I was able to easily check in and talk to the doctors that were treating my dog. They explained all of the options and helped us to understand what was possible and if realistically my dog who was elderly could get through. Ultimately we had to make the awful decision of ending treatment. The Doctors and staff were extremely compassionate and understanding of how difficult decisions like this are. We were lucky to work with Dr. Ogg and I felt her guidance throughout was very helpful. She was extremely warm and compassionate and I truly could not say enough kind things. Sometimes at the dog ERs you run into extremely clinical vets and this was not the case here. I think the vets here truly care about animals well being and it shows.

The worst experience with a veterinarian ever. Was pushing a euthanasia/ cremation package. Went in as a emergency waited over a hour to see the vet. We arrived at 5:50 the wait was for the vet who arrived at 6:55 I saw her pull up she came to do a brief exam. Offered euthanasia and cremation. I declined was able to see my regular vet later that day. My dog is home with me doing much better. Was diagnosed with old dog syndrome. Which passes in a few days . Much more to the negative experience there but don’t want to waste anymore time dealing with pet er. Beware of Dr Moss . Get a second opinion before euthanasia.

got the upmost quality of care for my cat at this vet. i took my cat to a vet prior to coming here and felt like they failed us in diagnosing what the issue was going on in his mouth (which they said they’d refer me to a specialist but never did). Pet+ER was able to do the evaluation and the required surgical procedure on the same day. they mentioned how much of a sweet cat he is and i could tell how much they loved him and took great care of him as if he was their own, which is important to every pet owner. lastly, i was impressed with how they handle their COVID precaution procedures in making sure guests and staff are safe by having a car pickup/drop off system.
