I am a first time dog owner who brought my one year old energetic and sassy labradoodle to Megan for the first time almost a year ago. We were struggling with impulse control, manners, and bullying behavior toward other dogs. Instead of just helping me train individual behaviors piecemeal, Megan taught me how to build a better relationship with my dog and instill in him the self control skills necessary to succeed. As I implemented her methods, my dog became much better behaved in all sorts of settings. He’s still a wonderful happy and playful companion who now causes less stress and is able to enjoy more of the world. I recommend Megan to anyone who wants to learn training techniques that work and understand their own dog better!

This time of year has me reflecting on all the things my family and I are grateful... our pup clover is right at the top. She's the best Goldendoodle pup and Megan and her staff have tremendously helped groom our amazing pup! We used Megan's business for training and dog walking. Megan's training is extremely personalized and reflects her expertise in the field. Clover loves the staff and we all know a happy healthy pup = happy healthy family! ♥️

Megan was fantastic. A totally game changer for my dog. I don’t know what I would have done without her. I sent my dog to her after failing at another trainer and she fixed the issue. Couldn’t be happier!!!

I first hired K9dness for puppy training when my lab was a few months old. Since then I have used all of the services, dog walking, training and pet sitting. My dog Tucker is a wonderful, well trained dog, and I attribute that to the time and commitment spent with Megan and K9dness. I am often complimented on his behavior. Thank you Megan and K9dness team!!

Megan and her team at K9dness have helped us tremendously. Megan helped us train our 6 month puppy who was very mouthy, and who was stubbornly trying to do whatever he wanted in our house. Her extensive knowledge, down to earth approach, and overall understanding of these amazing creatures, guided us in the right direction. Fast for 5 months when Henry was boarding at K9dness, Megan said our pup was a totally different dog than when she first met him. She gave us the confidence and strategies to successfully train our dog (of course with some minor hiccups along the way). I would highly recommend K9dness!

Let’s start by saying, owing a dog/puppy is much harder than one would think. I started calling around to a few trainers but none of them felt right, until I was referred to Megan by another customer. I have a 5 month mixed breed puppy. She is a German Shepherd/Husky/Border Collie/Lab mix.As large as she is now, she will most certainly get much larger very soon, and my concern was that her bad behaviors would be the difference between keeping her or giving her up for adoption.I contacted Megan completely frustrated with how much I couldn’t control anything. She is a good dog, but she had issues with potty training, leash pulling( literally pulling me down the street), crate training issues, jumping, puppy biting, issues with pack leadership, separation anxiety, counter surfing, didn’t know how to interact with other dogs, and so much more. Megan came out and did an evaluation and began working with us. We had a few training sessions with some improvement, but I figured that because she will be a 80-100 dog we needed to take a more aggressive training approach. So instead of in home training sessions,I signed up my pup for her in home training bootcamp.I left her for a week and it’s the best decision I could have made. Today I picked her up, and I could cry tears of joy. I have seen SIGNIFICANT improvement, she’s almost unrecognizable. She now walks on leash, waits for my commands, and LISTENS.I know it may seem like a simple thing, but walking your dog shouldn't feel like your dog is walking you. Our walks are now enjoyable for the both of us. Her demeanor is different. She now knows how to interact with other dogs. She is more confindent.I’m highly impressed by the work that Megan has done. I told Megan earlier that she is doing God’s work, and she is. A great trainer is really the difference between a dog having a forever home or going to a shelter and possibly being euthanized. I know my puppy is a work in progress, but the progress we have seen thus far is unbelievable. We will continue to work with Megan! If you’re looking for a true professional, who’s reliable, and will be brutally honest Megan is your girl!

Megan is very knowledgeable with training dogs. She is very passionate and loving towards dogs and wants them to live the Best life possible. Whatever behavior your dog may have , she can tackle. She is a sweetheart as well, you can’t help but love her. If your dog needs training don’t hesitate to hire her.

We started working with Megan a few months ago. We’ve only had two sessions due to scheduling and illnesses but just those two meetings alone have made a HUGE impact on our lives. Our dog Lola is a rescue and while she has always been energized and rambunctious, over the last year or two she’s developed a lot of anxiety, she’s not the best listener, and she can be a handful in public. Since working with Megan my partner and I have been able to go out to eat with Lola, to the point that people passing by compliment us on how well behaved she is. It seems small but it’s a significant improvement considering she once snapped at a waiter under the same circumstances. I also want to point out that of the 20+ instructions Megan has given us, my partner and I have been slightly inconsistent with all of them and yet there is still drastic improvement. I used to doubt whether Lola would ever get better and now I’m just counting down the days until she is. Aside from everything else, Megan is affordable and accommodating. 100/10 would recommend.

Megan recently helped us train our 9 month old mini golden doodle and we're so happy we chose her! Our puppy needed help with following commands, reducing reactivity, reducing separation anxiety, improving leash training and overall improved manners. I'm happy to say that his behavior is SO much better after working with Megan! Our dog is calmer, happier and much better adjusted. Megan gave us a lot of ideas that were easy to implement and we'll continue to use with our pup. Megan uses positive reinforcement and a calm demeanor which our dog responded well to. Megan is very knowledgeable and passionate about dogs which comes through with her training. She is great at tailoring training specific to a dog's needs as all dogs are different. We'd highly recommend her services to anyone!

I have been working with k9dness since my dog was 6 months old. The owner/trainer gives herself wholeheartedly to her clients and their owners. She is always happy to answer questions and give advise, and she truly loves her work. 5 stars isn’t enough for K9dness and Meghan.

I met with Megan to help me with my 11 week old puppy. I'm a first time puppy owner and needed some guidance on how to handle barking, teaching leash walking, and overall just how to raise a calm, confident, happy dog. Megan was amazing! She knew exactly how to help me accomplish what I wanted using positive reinforcement. She educated me and was non-judgmental when I asked lots of (possibly dumb) questions. She was hands on and took time to observe behaviors in my apartment and outside and showed me how I can correct them. Before the session was over she made sure all of my questions were answered. I will definitely be using everything she taught me and use her in the future if needed!

We heard many great things about Megan through a doodle Facebook page. And we can attest she is great! We sent our sweet 3 month old goldendoodle for a week immersion training and he came back a calm, more trained puppy. She had a consultation with us before and even then our puppy’s behavior was better. During his week long stay she updated us each day with progress + pictures. She treated Bentley as if it were her own puppy & we are so happy! She changed his whole behavior, in turn him being a better more calm puppy. Would recommend K9dness to anyone with a new puppy or any doh who are looking to train!

We love working with Megan and K9dness! We have used Megan for training, for dog walking and long weekend stays as well. Megan and her whole team treat our dog like family. We have a 90 lb Golden-doodle so for us it was imperative to learn how to control him and not to be afraid because of his size. Post consistent training, he now listens to command, knows our tones and is the most loving dog ever. I would HIGHLY recommend Megan. And as a bonus, not only is Megan a fantastic dog trainer, she is pretty cool too!!

Disclaimer: I was feeling very frustrated with the lack of in-person dog training options in the Parkville/Baltimore area because my dog does not respond to a computer screen and many issues cannot be resolved without an in-person assessment. So I was thrilled and relieved to find out Megan was willing and able to perform a consult in our home. My 9-month old puppy Basil is a HANDFUL, and Megan was able to step in immediately and begin working on the challenges and assessing his behaviors. After 2 hours and much patience, Megan left us with several training techniques and Basil in a significantly calmer state. My husband and I are working hard with Basil, and after one week there are already improvements in his obedience and impulse-control! Notably he is learning to be CALM on his own (yes!!) and quiet in his crate, but he still LOVES his toys... One final note: Megan was very respectful of social distancing while in our home and she brought a mask with her, which is especially important to me. Overall, I definitely recommend K9dness for any level of dog training - I would not wait until the point of overwhelming frustration like I did!

Megan with K9ness Dog Training is amazing! She really takes the time to get to know your dog and understand them. Her consultation lasts as long as it needs to be, which really shows how dedicated she is to her job and making a difference. We have a rescue pit bull and she’s very scared of new people and new dogs and comes off as aggressive. She is also super strong and barks and pulls so we needed to work on those things. We heard of this dog trainer so we contacted her and started our pit in her group sessions and long story short, group sessions were not for her. We realized she needed one on one work and then we found Megan. We were introduced to her through mutual friends and we are so thankful for the conversation that led us to her. Megan took her time and literally sat with our pit for 45 minutes during our initial consultation and just observed her, to try and understand why she does the things she does and to see how long it took her to calm down. Megan truly cares about your dog and their progress. Megan’s technique is to train you on how to work with your dog. The commands she has taught us and the consistent work we put in has really helped to make a big difference in our dogs aggressive behavior. Its been great working with Megan, we’ve really learned a lot how to interact with our pets. I’ve recommended Megan to friends and coworkers and will continue to do so. Thank you Megan and K9ness Dog Training!!

Megan is simply the best! She is reliable, honest, sweet and really goes over everything your pup might be feeling. I took my new puppy to megan who sat with me and went over all my questions and expectations for my new addition. She not only makes you feel more knowledge about your dog but you get results. My dog was house trained and crate trained with the insight from megan so quickly and I can not thank her enough. She always gets back to me quick and I can call/text her whenever I need her! Do your dog a favor and take her to K9dness! Megan is the main reason my puppy is so sweet and listens so well!

I cannot say enough about our experience with K9dness training! Megan has been amazing! We added a black lab puppy to our family about a year and a half ago and were not prepared for how energetic he would be, or how much education we would need. She has been patient, kind, and informative and has helped us understand him and meet his needs. We are a fairly large family and she made sure to give education and tips that suited each member of the family. She has always been willing to answer our questions and give us boosters when needed. I have happily shared K9dness training’s information and will continue to do so!

Megan transformed our sweet but neurotic 1 year old dog into a well adjusted and kind mannered companion. Because our dog required more intense training than we could consistently provide, Megan tailored a combination at-home and resident training program. I cannot thank Megan enough for the knowledgable and compassionate training she provided our sweet dog (and humans).

I wish I could give Megan more than 5 stars! This woman changed the trajectory of my house and brought so much order back into my life in less than 2 hours. This woman is the truth. I got it in my head to adopt a doodle and foster a 2 year old at the same time. ( blame the quarantine) I was at my wits end and started to think about rehoming my sweet puppy- because he’s a PSYCHO. My Psycho but still a psycho. Anyways. I finally made the call to her and after one session my dog is different! Is he still insane? Yes. But now I can walk my insane dog with a 2 year old and other dogs are the ones that look crazy. If you’re considering getting a trainer. Use her. Pay her. Thank her. She works. Literally we went from me not being able to walk my dog down the street with out him near dislocating my shoulder to my 2 year old walking him!!!!!

I hired Megan to help me with my sometimes mischievous puppy. I needed someone to guide me in how to change some of his behaviors. Megan took her time getting to know me and understanding what I wanted to gain from our sessions. I immediately saw positive changes in his behaviors. My little guy's behavior has improved so much in our time together. Megan has helped me to see the importance of my responses to his behaviors. She has been patient and kind (with both human and canine) and has changed our lives for the better. I'm so glad I found her!

I could not recommend Megan or her services more! After getting her name from my vet, I soon made a consultation with Megan where I was blown away by her passion for her job. After even a few training sessions, I already had a new dog, one that was a much better listener and a lot more well behaved. Aside from her strong training skills, Megan is clearly in the right field as any dog I have seen her interact with has loved her the moment they see her! I could not be more thankful for all the help Megan has provided, as I am a first time dog mom and have a very stubborn pup! I’m so lucky to have a dog that now will listen to directions, and is a lot more well behaved. Megan is responsible, reliable, and trustworthy and has a clear love for what she is doing!

Was recommended by a friend of a friend and I’m SO glad we went with K9dness! Megan is so good at what she does - I expected some resistance/judgment for how my dogs behaved (badly before Megan’s help) but she was so kind and calm about our situation. We have our first baby on the way and she made me feel 100 times more confident in bringing a newborn home to my two dogs because I now have control and confidence over their behavior. Thank you so much!

We love K9DNESS for both training and all of their services they offer. The staff is warm, knowledgeable, friendly and trust worthy. Best of all, they treat our dogs like family. We have used them for long weekends and weeks away while they stay at our house and take care of our fur babies, as well as basic training sessions. Highly recommended and our dogs can’t wait for their next vacation.

Megan is a LIFE SAVER! She worked with our dog week after week, and has a true passion for training! I couldn’t believe the progress after just one week! Our pup has never been more obedient and we can’t thank Megan enough for all her help! Extra bonus: It was so apparent that our dog LOVED her so much, that we are bringing him back in future for some playtime! Couldn’t recommend her enough!

Megan was an absolutely amazing trainer for me and my little guy! She was a support system for me both on and off the clock, and her methods always worked to keep my dog in check. I especially loved how Megan always told the “why” behind the trainings that we were doing. I felt much more comfortable trying things because I knew the rationale behind them. I highly recommend for any first time dog owner!

Wow! Megan is a rockstar. Highly observant, knowledgeable, and responsive to the needs of others (both human and canine), Megan is the BEST trainer. Megan came highly recommended by our vet and I am so in awe of Megan's ability to work with our strong-willed and anxious rehomed twice shelter dog. After each session, not only have I acquired helpful tools and techniques to use when working with our dog, but I have an understanding of the why and the how to use them. My dog is in so much better a place because of working with Megan. It is a joy to watch Megan at work; she is truly gifted. I highly recommend her.
