Disgusted was charged $1300 for a procedure that was canceled... promised they would return my money . They took it and kept for 8 days .. argued with me over and over that they had refunded my money ...ultimately had to put a dispute in with my bank. ... a prior visit with them and another cat they were to pull his teeth alone instead they took a biopsy of my cat bisquit's tongue that I didn't approve or authorize and within the week after they had done that biopsy I had to have him put to sleep. Check out the Pet ER in Belair, MD instead.

A totally positive experience. They got back to me immediately with test results and setting up surgery for my cat. They treated him like the member of the family that he is. Thank you for taking care of my baby.

CVSS' staff is great. They are friendly and efficient. Dr. Middlestead carried out a thorough examination of Tobi and explained everything so I could understand it. I would not hesitate to take my pet to them.

Now that we have the tool's to stay safe from Covid with vaccine's and masks, It's time to let clients into the facility with their pets so they can actually meet the Vet vs. communicating soley via phone. We just spent thousands of dollars for a procedure with our dog and never even met the vet except for a phone conversation. Perhaps at minimum, the vet could meet with pet parents in the parking lot?

Our experience with CVSS has been excellent! The staff was wonderful with explaining the surgical options for our basset hound, and they were communicative throughout the entire process from initial consult to surgery.

They were to busy to see my pet and sent me away. A lack of staff. A very poor experience!

Quality, timely service for post surgery PT for our dog. Guidance and explanations are always thorough, with treatment plan clearly defined and followed. Our dog has responded very well and is on her way to a full recovery.

Words can't express the disappointment we have for the Towson location. Following our vet performing two ultrasounds on our cat and finding gallstones we were referred to Chesapeake for surgery. After Dr. J reviewed the ultrasounds and blood work, the surgery wasn't classified "an emergency" because he was still eating and not jaundice, even though his bile duct was partially clogged with sludge. The next appt was 5 to 6 weeks out. So all that time, no antibiotics or med regiment was issued to keep it from getting worse or better. Dr. J said all surgeries come with risks with anesthesia, etc, but no mention this was a "major" surgery until the phone call after the surgery saying his blood pressure was dropping in recovery, we needed to come see him. At that point she referred to it as major surgery and his gallbladder was so diseased and infected, Hence my point of wanting surgery five weeks earlier or medications to prevent it getting worse. I had a bad feeling about this Dr's handling of this whole situation from the start. We put too much trust in doctors. So keeping him overnight, they moved him to the ER. The nurse moving him said, "go wait outside, get something to eat and once I get him settled you can see him for 10 minutes before leaving." When we got back they said we couldn't see him, you have to come back tomorrow. 30 minutes into our drive home, our phone rings and the nurse said, "he's settled in, you can come see him now." It's the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Needless to say, my husband went back and stayed with him for 90 minutes. He had a rough night and was given methadone through a pump for arrhythmias. The next day we were called in because he was declining. Upon arrival, they brought the cat into a room with us to say goodbye. By 11 p.m. that night after staying with him for 12 hours waiting for him to pass, the ER doctor came in and said, "we think the methadone is keeping his heart going and we aren't giving him anymore. You have tied up this waiting room for 12 hours and you need to either take him home to die or let us euthanize him. One good part of my job is being able to let him die with a little dignity." SHE WAS SO TERRIBLY RUDE AND COLD. Those two days were the worst I've ever experienced with any of our pets. I should note, that the techs were really nice and good with our cat, but those doctors we had to work with were the worst. It's all about the money to them. While we were there for two days they hit our credit card three times. Five days after burying the cat, we get an e-mail with another bill. They can wait five to six weeks like we did.

My 6 year old French Bulldog had a mast cell tumor removed in addition to a BOAS combo opening his nose and shortening his soft palate to aid with breathing. Dr. Moore, Alex (Penn) and Kaitlyn (Kenny) were beyond amazing and I couldn't have gotten through the surgery without their professionalism, knowledge, and most importantly their compassion for Percy and myself!! Thank you! Thank you!

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the unnecessary death of my German Shepherd Nova at the hands of Dr. Jey. I can't overstate this DO NOT GO HERE THEY KILLED MY DOG. Nova went in for a simple ACL surgery and came out with an infection that spread to her spine and killed her in a few days. I'm so angry and upset I can't put into words how messed up the whole situation was. No apology, no admission, absolutely nothing from this horrible company. I'm so angry that my dog Nova was taken from me at such an early age. PLEAAE do not go here I am begging you, I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

We recently were referred to Dr. Jeyakumar and her team when our dog was having difficulty walking. They were able to quickly identify the problems and schedule surgery. During the recovery period, whenever we called the office with concerns, we were always treated kindly and with patience as all questions were answered. Call backs are swift and the staff is always friendly and helpful. CVSS are excellent caretakers who provide considerate service to pets and their people.

Dr J recently performed an emergency cystotomy for a large bladder stone on my standard poodle. Her work is impeccable and she's very caring as well. My poodle recovered quickly and without incident. From start to finish, it was a 5-star experience. Dr J is top shelf and we were very lucky to have her take this case.

Efficient, thorough, explained things well. Do not like that we cannot go in with our dog. She is having a big, serious operation and we would have liked to be there for the exam and to talk to dr. directly.

Can not recommend more highly. Dr. Middlestead's skill and communication were the highest for our 9yr old lab's ACL "repair". The assisting surgeon was equally attentive and informative as were all those who assisted our boy through this difficult time. You may have to wait for a consult but well worth it for the level of skill and care.

I did not like how my doctor spoke with me about my dogs prognosis. I felt as if I was being pushed into surgery for my dog. He was very demanding that he could only preform the surgery in the next two days. If not I would have to come to Columbia or have to see a new doctor which would have been another consult fee. He didnt address other options either. He didnt state that therpay wouldn't work or even be an option. Only jumped to surgery. I felt like he just wanted to get me off the phone and booked for surgery. The records indicated my dog was not muzzled but red marks on her gums indicated else wise. My dog isnt the easiest to deal with due to hating car rides, let alone a vet visit. She is not used to neck collars and we had her harnest on since it is eaiser to get her to move. A small thin blue leash was wrapped around her neck and the staff were pullling her causing her to choke and gag. Never did I see them try and use her harness as well to get her to move in the direction they needed her to. Our regular vet does the same method and has no issues. I would not recommend this location for any care due to being talked down to by a doctor and my dog not being cared for they way she should be.

Except for poor phone service to get an appointment and the lengthy wait the surgeon was good and comprehensive. Unfortunately for a 14 year old dog, investing $6k to keep him alive is a tricky decision. Wish there were more dog surgeons to reduce costs but there seems to be a shortage .

My 7 year old jack Russell/beagle mix had TTA surgery for a complete tear of her CCL. Dr Anders did an excellent job. There were no complications at all. The surgery was done November 2020 and she was back to her normal active self by March. .

The Doctors and support staff treated our Phronsie and us like they were all there just for her. They were kind and gentle with her. It sucked not being able to go in with her because of the COVID-19 restrictions but the doctor and technicians kept us well informed, coming out several times during the course of a very long and emotional day. We’re glad our primary care vet recommended Chesapeake Veterinary. The only negative was the lack of bathroom facilities but even then the staff guided us to a local business that allowed public use.

Covid safety protocols made it impossible to meet personally for the consult with Dr Jey. However, the doctor answered all of my questions regarding my dogs surgery as well as describing all aspects of the surgery and recovery. I feel very confident that my dog will receive the best care.

Staff was friendly. They keep me informed with each step of the process. I was able to get Mae in the same day as her consultation and that was extremely helpful. I was able to apply for care credit while I was waiting and they provided the option of no-interest if paid off in 6 months

My 4 year old lab had TPLO surgery. Dr Jae performed the surgery and we picked her up the next day. Our experience was phenomenal. There was no swelling what so ever, stitches were internal and wound healed within two weeks. After following the doctors protocol, which seemed to be a bit more conservative than some others orders, our girl, at 12 weeks was given the all clear to return to normal activity. I am so happy with our experience with Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialsts.

Very positive experience all the staff were attentive and very helpful even though the ER was very busy this Saturday night. They have the ability to do all the major tests and blood transfusions at this ER which was greatly needed by our dog.
