Norbeck Animal Clinic Silver Spring, Maryland

Ive been taking my cat to this clinic for years and greatly appreciate the staffs friendliness and attentiveness. I can greatly tell that the staff has a genuine passion for animals by the way they treat the animals and the pet owners. Taking my cat to the vet has been a nervewracking experience lately because she gets carsick,to which she vomits and relieves herself in the cage. However the techs, specifically Adrianna has always cleaned her cage upon arrival without hesistency and assured me that they will take great care of princess, which honestly allowed me to relax a bit as well. I very much appreciate her. I also apreciate Noel who was extremely friendly, informative, and attentive towards everyone at the parking lot yesterday. He worked very hard to get everyone their pet in a timely manner. Lastly, Dr. Tuthill did an excellent job on my cats tooth extraction and was very kind and informative on the phone as well. I normally dont write reviews, but I wanted to thank you guys and encourage you all to keep up the great work!

Love Dr Tuthill. He is always nice and concerned about the well being of any animal I have brought. He is a wonderful surgeon and he is the only one that I trust enough to do ANY kind of surgical procedure on any of my pets. Staff is very nice and conscientious. They do a wonderful job.

Great place and good care of pets

Staff and physicians are very caring and have your pet’s best interest in mind. Everyone is very friendly and extremely helpful.

I just wanted to share that my 13 year old dog has been taken care of so well at NAC - especially by Dr. Tuthill and Noel. Thank you for always being responsive and available to answer all of my many questions. And, thanks for taking wonderful care of my dog all these years (going on 9+ years). Your advice, professionalism, and vet care are very much appreciated.

Although it has been a tough year (thought we were going to have to say goodbye twice), Dr. Gonzalez stood with our boy and reassured us every step of the way. He was responsive off hours and showed compassion and empathy. Although we know the day will be coming soon that we will have to say goodbye - we are grateful we have been able to have this extra time (without causing pain or anything invasive.)

Great service and staff. Very supportive of my cat and me. We just got through some tough times. Could not have done it without Dr Gonzalez and staff.

I can't really rate this place but was there as my roommate's pet had an emergency and both didn't answer the phone, nor no one was in. Didn't even call back. Not my dogs but the place Cleary said open until 2 PM and was there at 12:30.

Had discussion on why my dogs procedure was so expensive. And they basically told me to find another vet. No room for discussion, nothing! I took off work to have the procedure done for my dog and they canceled at the last minute very unprofessional I would not recommend

Taking my pet to Norbeck Animal Clinic during COVID was painless. I called from my car, they came to get my pet, took him for his examination. The doctor came out and gave me an evaluation and they brought the animal back out. I stayed in my car the entire time. No interaction with an other person. It was wonderful.

Dr. Tuthill is amazing — thorough, helpful, honest, and empathetic. Becky, his assistant, is just as good. Sometimes (often) they run 20-30 minutes late, and one or the office people can be a bit touchy sometimes, but I’m happy to go through that to get Becky and Dr. Tuthill.

Great service for my dog save her life

Dr. Tuthill has been treating our two dogs (lucy and ethel) and our cat (susie) for several years now and we are so happy with his care, concern, sound medical advice, and thoroughness. He always takes the time to explain everything to us and we appreciate that. The staff is also excellent. Noel, David, Becky, the receptionist and another technician (of whom we can't remember their names, sorry!) have been truly exemplary in every way. Kind, gentle, considerate in every interaction. Nov 2020: Just have to update my review to say that Norbeck Animal Clinic is still the best! NAC manages to handle the COVID restrictions while still providing great care! Once someone comes to my car to chat with me about the problem, my cats are taken inside while I wait in the car. I was nervous the first time about not being with my fur babies, but the Doctor came out to tell me what was happening and to give me detailed next steps. Next thing I knew, my girls were back with me in the car and we were headed home! Thank you NAC for continuing to be our go-to for the best cat care. 2018: Dedicated Cat Room is a great feature. Great location and hours. Friendly staff and knowledgeable vets - all with a kind touch.

The staff at Norbeck are always friendly and professional. It's a pleasure every time I bring my cat in. They really seem to love what they do. I appreciate that I can count on them whenever my cat needs them.

They really care about your pet! The staff are very easy to work with and understand. Even in these difficult times, they take time to explain what tests they need to do, and what medications are needed for my dog.

I use to love this vet office. Dr Gonzalez and Dr. Castallanos took care of my family’s and my own pets for a decade. But I am sorry to say this office has dropped dramatically in quality. I am not sure if Dr. Gonazalez is still practicing there as I recently saw a new vet that I was unfamiliar with last week. The level of disorganization, lack of bedside manner, and frustration I underwent has confirmed that I will no longer be returning to this office. When I brought up my pets history to the doctor during my last visit, the vet admitted he didn’t even look that far back in her chart after repeatedly pushing me to perform XRAYS for which his suggested diagnosis wouldn’t show up on. I was charged for a procedure I didn’t authorize, then overcharged for a series of treatments I had prepurchased, then they mixed up my dogs treatment appointment and did an exam instead. Luckily, I asked about the treatment and they did not try to charge me for an exam. It feels very money driven and less about the level of care and empathy for the animals. One mistake, I was willing to return.. but after the repeated unauthorized charges and lack of bedside manner from the doc.. it’s time to say goodbye to this place for good. It’s a shame!

Our visit was great. Thought my dog had blown out his knee repair. doctor assured me he had not, that it was brushed ribs and back due to how he was picked up by his sweater by family member. Such a relief not knee! Thanks everyone! Happy new year !!!

I'm extremely disappointed with the utter lack of follow thru to my phone call requesting to know the cost of getting an x ray for my room mates dog. I regret even more having to give even one star, that isn't deserved, just so as to get this review done. I have called back my friend to tell him that his recommendation of this place was way off base. I'll be finding another veterinary office that can at least communicate effectively, instead of giving me an empty promise of the estimate being sent to me by email, just to get me off the phone. Seeing how I'm such an inconvenience, I'll take my money elsewhere, and forewarn my friends to not ever bother you guys at all. While your answering person has a sell-able voice, her lack of patience is extremely clear. It appears to me that she needs to put her lying impatience on leash, instead of your clients pets.

I have been going to them for 11 years and love them!

We had to do the hardest thing and the doctor and tech came outside and did everything under a tree, on a blanket, while we cried.

Dr Gonzales is very good at explaining my cats’ health issues and answering any questions I have. Noel is a great vet tech. The office staff is friendly and competent.

Dr. Gonzalez and his staff always take such great care of our pet. They are always friendly, transparent and flexible when discussing options for our dog's treatment needs. They do not push unnecessary treatments. Dr. Gonzalez always takes his time to thoroughly explain his diagnosis, possible factors and treatment options. He is very patient and informative. Their customer service since COVID has remained excellent and I highly recommend them!

To expensive and they dont know how to groom cats properly. They also milk the bill

Just needed a bath and hair and nails trimmed. No groomer cut, no groomer. Service was fine.

Well I have been taking my dogs to Norbeck for over 9 years... And they have always come thru for me, prices are not to brake the bank...but still hurt....attention is good...but sometimes vets got to read the patient file....all in all..they are open for appointments when I have had emergencies and they have meds that are affordable.
