Johnson-McKee Animal Hospital Salisbury, Maryland

I have been a client of Johnson (now Johnson-McKee) Animal Hospital since 1956. Throughout the 65 years the hospital support staff and veterinarians have been outstanding! Not all visits were happy occasions but in every instance they were caring, compassionate and totally professional. On several occasions when I was unable to take my pets to the office, a staff member came to the house to take care of my cats. In one instance when I had an out of town emergency they gave my cats a home until I returned. Best of all the staff always welcomes my cats and me with warmth and respect. Many thanks for your unending commitment to excellence in serving the community and its pets.

So I walk in to the office 10 minutes before my appointment and I am immediately greeted by the lady behind the desk asking me if this was Callie (my dog). She immediately came over and greeted us and took us to the back where another lady met us and finished Callies exam. When the doctor came in, he took his time and answered all of my questions. This was a great experience and you can tell that all of the people that work here really enjoy their jobs and taking care of the animals.

Johnson and McKee has been my veterinarian for over 25 years. They are very responsive, caring and professional. I would not think of going anywhere else.

I’ve been taking our fur babies here for more than a decade and have had great experiences every time. They get us in on very short notice when needed and spend as much time as needed to explain things. We love it here.

Thanks to Dr. Peters. From the first time I tried to find a Vet for Calvin because Somerset Animal Hospital would not take me in even my dog was having issues. They did not care if my Dog “Calvin” so I called Dr Peters and he told me to bring him in and I dis and that is why his help for “Calvin”. Thanks Dr. Peters

The staff is exceptional!!! Very kind, courteous and caring. And Dr. Peters is a wonderful veterinarian. He is thorough, easy to communicate with, and most importantly, I trust him with the care of our new puppy Lilly.

I had an unfortunate emergency with a 12yr old house cat and my regular vet blew me off. Pets ER blew me off and recommended we travel 4hrs to another Pet ER. I understand short staff and lunch breaks but to tell someone in an emergency situation that they don't have time for you, left a bad taste in my mouth. Johnson-McKee said they could get me in and I couldn't be more thankful for them. Thumbs up on customer service.

The doctor seemed very impersonal and did not know that my female cat was not a male.

The receptionist was extremely rude I called to see when my dogs appointment was and she got smart and said you scheduled online a different date and I would never use a week day to take him because he is extremely hyper and my husband has to help and pretty much she made it out to be like I’m dumb when I asked for the manager she refused

I have been a customer for 10 years and never missed an appointment. I got a text that I thought was a reminder for my appointment. Seems they have a policy you must confirm your appointment or they cancel your appointment. I arrived only to be told - you have been canceled. I consider this a Terrible policy - especially since in 10 years I haven’t ever missed an appointment. I stayed with Johnson-McKee even though I knew they were higher priced then other veterinarians just out of loyalty.

Had a great visit all went well.

Very professional staff, no waiting, kind, personal, knowledgeable and thorough .. what more could I ask for when looking for care for my furry kids?!?!

Dr peters and staff have cared for our many cats and dogs for about 30 yrs..Staff and vet care have always been top notch.. I sense how they love our animals, even my dog watchdog who behaved horribly this last visit.. I feel their prices are fair and I trust that discussions of needed care are about what is really needed, without the element of maximizing their income. I love the continuity of a skilled, honest providers and highly recommend them.

I had never been inside until yesterday because of covid. Not even sure what dr i saw (i think it was Culver?); he really took time to understand my concern. Hopefully within a month we will see if Miss Patsy is doing better.

Johnson McKee Animal Hospital has taken care of all my Boston Terriers since the mid 1990's. They have always been caring toward each of my pets & I (when I had to have my beloved Mitzi put to sleep due to Cancer). Now they compassionately care for my problem boy, Juggie -- who does not like going to see the Vet or other dogs :-( He is the only Boston I've ever known to be such a problem child but we love him. Dr Peters & his staff care compassionately for Juggie despite his grumpiness & ill temper for which I am extremely grateful.

Everyone was extremely professional and friendly. A suggestion for a more effective flea/tick treatment was appreciated. The pet exam was thorough and questions were welcomed.

Dr. Peters and the staff at Johnson McKee were so professional and seemed to genuinely care about our pup Sophie. They answered every question that I had and didn’t seem at all bothered when I called multiple times with concerns. I was nervous about having to leave her but they took great care of her. It is such a breath of fresh air to visit a business where everyone one of the staff members are so friendly, happy, and really seem to enjoy their jobs. Everyone from the front desk staff to the veterinarian were wonderful! Thanks for making a sad and scary situation so much easier for us!

We are fortunate to have such wonderful vets as Dr. Culver and Dr. Peters in our area! They work tirelessly to give extensive care, advise us, and accommodate us as soon as possible, especially during a pandemic. They went above and beyond to keep all of us, including our beloved pets safe, yet, still offer the same care. Their office staff and vet techs are a HUGE part of keeping everything together and running smoothly...love them!!
