Best Friends Pet Hotel Rockville, Maryland

Our Kat Sasha came home after her 7-day hotel stay and seemed to have enjoyed the time-off. ...would've been nice to receive a 'selfie' from her after 5days but, although it was scary on BOTH ends (since this was her FIRST time being away from home in 8yrs!) it was a PLEASANT experience! :) :)

I’ve been leaving my cat here every time we go out of town for the last 4 years. They take good care of her. We do schedule playtime with her so she gets to move around a little. I have received a response every time I call them to check in her and they do let me know how she is doing. I do ask for her to be bathed after her stay sometimes and they do have the best groomer! I haven’t had such good experience with any other facility in Rockville.

Enja is the best. My German Shepherd looks wonderful.

After two days, my dog, Woola, smelled like stale urine and his white paws were yellow like they left him in it the whole time. They pushed for us to pay for a bath at the end of his stay, and now I know it would have been to hide this mistreatment. I am very upset they would treat me and my pet this way, I would not board my dog here again.

Rude, unprofessional, and poor customer service. So for context of my review: If your location is not currently doing tours (Rockville) then you should notify people and more importantly people shouldn't even be able to submit a tour request. That's forgivable and i would understand but what was not okay was the customer service I got just now. I called to ask why noone had responded to my request and The young man who answered my call was unpleasant, condescending and hung up on me. He was unapologetic and brushed me off even cutting me off mid sentence. I would have been willing to consider leaving my cat there even without a tour but he didn't even offer me that option. All he did was cut me off, spoke over me and just said have a good day, bye bye and then hung up! I was shocked and upset. I dont want to leave my pet in that kind of care. This young man lost you a customer. :(

I love this place they really care . I recommend 100%

The setup is nice as far as toys and multiple cages. The main problem is the daycare room for dogs. Never before have i seen a dog daycare that allows big dogs to play in the same room as small dogs. It's EXTREMELY dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. Every dog daycare has a big dog side AND a small dog side for that very reason. I would never allow my small pet here in fear of losing them. I'd never leave my big dog with them for fear of a lawsuit due to my dog mauling a Chihuahua. I know it costs more to hire 2 staff members per shift but it's absolutely necessary. Profit seems more important than safety. In reality though they will lose money once a small dog in their care is mauled by a large dog. They will be sued and possibly go out of business. Im a big dog lover and i really hope this review opens some eyes.

Safe and efficient system for drop off and pick up. Wonderful grooming job in a very acceptable time frame.

i left my Yorkie here for his grooming , i showed them specifically how i wanted his hair to be cut . i even let his hair grow so he would have the right length. i have attached pictures of how they left him and what i wanted . also how long his hair was .

I have been hesitant to post a review about this place because I really have little nice to say. I will preface my review by saying I have only toured the place. First, I will mention that the ladies at the front were nice...nice enough. As far as the facility and leaving my beloved fury family....Heck No!! I would not ever bring my dog here or any place like it!! It reminded me of "the pound" ! One poor pup was left sitting in a crate with feces on the floor. Gross! I felt sorry for him. I would not recommend this place for any pet... it smells and is in desperate need of upgrading. Come on.. if I wouldn't stay in the place longer than 5 mins., I certainly would not allow my little angel to stay there either. I'm sorry, I'm just being honest.

My friend recommended this place to me. However, poor customer service. I will never go back again.

I was in town traveling for a wedding with my dog who needed to be boarded one night. They confirmed that all I needed to bring were vaccination records. There was no mention of a fecal matter test. Because the fecal matter test was less than one month out of date, they did not let me board my dog. The customer service was awful and did not accurately communicate boarding rules. I do NOT recommend using best friends.

Speaking on behalf of my husky/Eskimo mix, I can say that this place is super fun! My dog loves to be here, and they love having her. She's all over their FB page and has only been there three times! My pup is 11 months old and she gets such good treatment. Best of all, she comes home tired, so I know she's getting enough exercise all day long. They take great care of her all day long, so I'm super excited to have her there. I highly recommend this place! Process are also excellent for this Rockville location.

I only visited the place with my dog. I am not sure if I am going to use them because big and small dogs are together. But I will use the groomer Anja because my dog really liked her

I try to leave fair reviews. My dog can be a handful. That said, would not recommend. Customer service at intake is poor. We also monitored the pet cams and some (not all) of the "play counselors" just seem sit there all day texting without really starting any play. Our dog was caged for 3 hours without water during the "play time". We get that dogs can be hard to handle and something may have happened but at most, a 15 minute time out is good training. If it necessitated that long caged, give him water. And why not call and inform us? Thats the real issue. If we hadnt checked we would have paid 50 bucks a day for him to sit in a cage and get frustrated watching other dogs play. When we finally got stressed enough to call, they didnt answer for the first 4 times. We wish we had used a cheaper place without a play option. A bored dog sucks but thats better than a dog frustrated by really poor training techniques.

They would get a five star but due to corporate reasons, they will not let my dog stay or even play in general population. I have over two years of records saying he isn't an aggressive dog, but thier corporate office doesn't care and breed hates. This is unfortunate because besides this I truly like this place.

Hands down the best groomers in the area!! Wouldn't take my Shiba to any other place.

Love their cat groomer! Always so nice and caring. Great with all animals and and work quick! My cat actually has no problem coming here compared to other groomer!

I've been bringing my dogs to Best Friends for many years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is helpful and friendly and really treat the dogs as if they were their own pets. The staff recognize the dogs when they come in and they seem happy to see each other.

We brought our English Bulldog here for the day while our family visited Arlington National Cemetery for a day trip. The staff there were so nice and the location was easy to find. We have traveled to the best friends pet care locations at Walt Disney world, North Plainfield, NJ, and now Rockville, MD, and best friends always exceeds my expectations!

Our dog Zeus has been groomed at Best Friends for the past three years with excellent results. Wonderful and accommodating staff. Zeus spent a week there last year when we vacationed on the west coast and they took great care of him. It will be hard to find a better place.

This is a wonderful pet day care! I worked for the Humane Society for years and looked at a few different day camps before picking best friends for our dog Brody and I honestly couldn't be happier. Their rates are reasonable the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and you can tell they really care about what they do. Our dog starts wagging his tail the moment we turn into the shopping center and he couldn't be more excited when he realizes he's going to camp that day. We have used their boarding services as well when we travel and Brody loves it (comes back happy and exhausted from playing all day). I also think the staff has done an amazing job socializing him, when we rescued Brody he was a bit aggressive/uncomfortable with other dogs and would kinda pounce on little dogs but he has stopped all that behavior and we never have to worry about him at the dog park or when we're walking him. If you are looking for a safe environment for your dog to exercise, socialize and most importantly be happy while your working or on vacation then this is the place for you!

If you are looking for a place where the manager and the assistant manager are not on vacation at the same time, keep looking... If you are looking for a business where your time and patronage are valued, keep looking... If you are looking for a Bichon Frise groomer that can actually give a Bichon haircut, keep looking...
