Mariah-Belle Manor Kennel Mount Airy, Maryland

Our dog is a rescue pup, and had some issues. So we were apprehensive about boarding her. A friend uses Mariah-Belle, so we tried it. No issues at all. Our dog was happy to see us return but she was in no hurry to leave. She was treated well. No adverse effects when we got home, either. One thing I really liked aside from the care given to our dog was that Mariah-Belle has a great, automated communication and calendaring system. I was updated as to when I was to drop our dog off and when to pick her up. Definitely recommended!

Mariah Belle Kennel is a great place. They always take great care of my dog. Rachann, Michelle and staff are great and it's great knowing that he is in a caring environment when we stays there.

My pets and family just recently had a very upsetting (and traumatic) experience here. And for the record, we had been using this kennel for many years off and on with our pets and had great experiences up until this. After a recent stay, both of my dogs came home very ill, lethargic, and their personalities had changed. My wife took them to the vets and they both came down with a virus that was picked up from the kennel. The vet instructed us to inform the Mariah Belle and my wife was told that there was an outbreak there about 2 weeks prior to our visit. We were not told about this, which means that informed consent was not given, and this was not remedied correctly at the kennel. It cost us $250 for just one visit for one of our dogs (we have 2). I called and left a message for the owner because I wanted to hear from her directly about what she thought about the situation, especially given that our dogs were due back for another kennel stay in just under 2 weeks from this visit. I never received a call back at all, completely ignored! Very disappointed and upsetting for my kids. We had recently lost a few other pets in the prior couple of months, so they were all anxious about even leaving our dogs this time. We reassured them that they had taken care of our animals before and that everything would be fine. It took almost 2 full weeks for the dogs to recover with medicine, both physically and personality wise. I never write negative reviews but this really stings on a worry/concern about what happened to our animals, for other pets and owners, the fact that this was a known issue-not disclosed and not remedied correctly, and the fact that our pets could have died, and the fact that it was $250 in medical fees on top of the cost of the kennel fees. It would have been an extra $500 but luckily our vet was confident that only testing one dog would be sufficient to write the prescriptions. I wanted to hear back from the owner, just to hear her position on all of this, to work with them, to feel reassured, etc. But, completely ignored and dismissed. We did not bring our dogs back for the following scheduled visit and never even heard from them to confirm that visit, or check in or anything. Wow! Update, after the owners response, please consider my reply: Rachann, I appreciate your detailed response to my post. I, too, am very saddened to write such a negative review. That is not in my nature, but after not hearing back from you after week, I had no choice. For the record, I never received a single phone call from you or your staff. I also hope that the readers of this message understand that I am not a typical disgruntled person who is merely upset and seeking vengeance. Being concerned about my dogs and my family (and my finances), it makes no sense for me to ignore any phone calls when I actively sought out to speak with you. If you did call, you clearly called some other number, and not the numbers listed in our file. So, I respectfully decline your explanation and here your position on this. I wish you well. I merely wanted to hear what your position was with this entire ordeal, I was not asking or expecting anything from you. It would, however, have been nice to feel like our experience mattered, to be reassured that this would not happen again, and to be offered a reassurance of any vet bills or medications if we brought the dogs there again as scheduled. I completely understand and accept that you do not believe that approach to be necessary. Edit: Response to owners response, there was never a single phone call or attempt to reach us or discuss this in any way. That is complete fabrication designed to defend this business from the true and negative review.

Love this place and the care they take to assess each dog's play style and temperament, so dogs of similar personalities are grouped together. This requires extra care and attention, and my young golden retriever couldn't be happier here. Thank you, Mariah Belle, for your conscientious and loving care of the dogs in your charge. I, for one, deeply appreciate it.

The only place I will board my dogs. This family run kennel truly cares about my pets. While on vacation they called me to let me know my dog seemed to have an ear infection. They wanted to know if it was alright if the took him to MY vet for care. They then gave him the meds and watched his ear until we came home. My dogs are happy when they get here and happy when they leave.
