Mid-County Veterinary Clinic La Plata, Maryland

My family has been visiting doc since we moved here 31 years ago. He's helped care for all of our furry family members, and has always taken the time to listen when we have questions or concerns. Doc also always takes the time to explain not only what he's doing, but why he's doing it while prescribing new treatment options for ailing or aging pets. We've used Doc for everything from getting a new kitten and young cat ready to come home, to saying our final goodbyes to that same cat who'd been seeing Doc for the prior 16 years. For our cat (Spike) in particular, we were able to consult with Doc after an emergency vet visit to help discuss our options and make the hard decision none of us ever want to make. But we were fortunate enough to do so with confidence that the choice was the right one thanks to Doc taking the time to listen, review the file with us, and chat with us one last time after we arrived. Sounds depressing I suppose, but it's during the difficult times that having a vet you trust becomes critically important, and when your pet is able to make that last trip and be calm in the exam room because they are comfortable there, that matters too. Doc has always taken good care of us and our pets, and we are pleased to recommend him as our vet.

Dr. Cosenza is so down to earth! Love his honesty about your pet's health and wellness. Takes the time to make your visit personal. Not just a client with a number being ushered in and out. Thanks Doc for all the great care you've given Chico, Gib's black lab!

Doc Cosenza is fantastic. Old school office, but down to earth, read vet. He and his office will look out for your pet, and give realistic and affordable advice.

Everyone is friendly and helpful! They all take their time with you, listen to every concern and make sure you don’t spend money unless completely necessary. Switched to them a couple years ago and so glad we did!!

Dr. Cosensa has taken care of my last 3 dogs and is now taking care of number 4. He is great. He really gets into his work. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I love this vet. I have used 2 other vets in la Plata over the last 25 years and this is my favorite. You don't wait forever, the staff is helpful and the vet is wonderful. They offer services but don't force them on you We have been here 4 times now(I have a dog and a cat) and I will continue to come here

Oh my god!! No kidding in shock!! So I am looking for a new vet, and read the previous reviews of this clinic. So I walked in, I felt pretty good about the decision that I was making. Scheduled an appointment. Went ahead and returned with the records of one of my cats..and before that had made an appointment for one of my cats. Dropped off the records the same day. The next day received a call from the receptionist stating because my cat had been to 4 different clinics that the doctor would not be able to take him as a new patient. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! For one thing my cat came from a rescue and had previously only been seen at 2 other clinics in his 7 years of life. The doctor seems to have an issue with being able to read records correctly. For a veterinarian to refuse treatment to an animal...SHAME ON YOU! If the vet had questions he should have called himself. Why in the hell does it matter how many doctors my animals have gone too. Thanks for really letting me know what you are truly about. This is for the Vet...next time have the balls to call me...yeah I'm angry..in shock...its a good thing my baby didn't have an serious situation.

Dr Cosenza and his staff are wonderful/caring individuals. My entire family uses him. Never have had a bad experience. Dr Cosenza is very honest and you can see his love for the animals. I highly recommend him.
