Really professional, knowledgable staff. We went on the weekend and had a "visiting vet," so I can't speak on the weekday vet. The vet we did have was very helpful, especially for a first time dog owner like me. I was given practical information on my dog's meds, care, and training, and all my probably silly questions were answered in detail. Wheatley had so much fun getting all the love and attention from the staff. He looks forward to returning!

The entire staff and the veterinarian are warm, genuine and thorough. They run tests to make sure the pets are checked out and rechecks pets weekly to make sure they are healthy and thriving. I highly recommend taking your fur babies here.

Dr. Kellogg is kind to people and dogs and is an excellent veterinarian. I highly reccomend him.

Staff was friendly and helpful

Both the veterinarian and the technician were among the best I've ever seen. Our dogs were calm throughout even with multiple injections and the care was top-notch. All diagnostic tests were done rapidly in-clinic and nothing was prescribed without reason. We look forward to making them our long-term veterinary clinic.

Very unsympathetic to my dog's needs. The person who answered the phone was brash and didn't have the time or desire to offer an empathetic response, when we needed it the most. We had just moved to Frederick and our dog was extremely sick. We don't know anyone and we were extra vulnerable given our dogs sudden turn for the worst. Thankfully someone recommended compassion vet in Urbana who provided exactly what we needed.

Vet Dr. and his vet tech were very thorough and professional. Calm and cozy old-school atmosphere. Love the front desk staff. Prices were cost-effective for me.

I took my cat here for a routine check up and shots. I have never seen a vet facility like this. Every other vet I have been to has a private exam room with chairs for the pet parents to sit in, and CLOSED DOORS. The rooms here all have open doorways (no doors on them). The only areas with seats were the waiting room and a row of three chairs in the hallway. The assistant took my cat from me in the carrier and walked into a room with cabinet shelving but no exam table. He placed the carrier on the counter, which had papers and other items on it, opened the carrier door, and reached in to take her out. She is in a new environment for the first time, has had no time to acclimate to the room or the person, and can hear, see, and smell a mid-sized dog in the waiting room just 15 feet away. Naturally, she hissed and backed into the carrier. She's never enjoyed the vet, but in all other experiences I was able to open the carrier and let her come out on her own, or unscrew the top and gently remove her, and then allow her to explore the room while the vet observed from a distance. Because she hissed and backed away (I'm not sure where she was supposed to go on the small, crowded counter) they took her into the surgery room and left me standing in the hallway. Eventually someone told me that I could have a seat in the hall. The vet finally came up, barely made eye-contact with me, mumbled a few things and left. The whole time she was being examined and getting her shots I could hear her howling, hissing, and crying. I was so anxious to get out of there. The entire time I was there not one of the five+ employees I saw was wearing a face mask (I was, and so were the other people in the waiting room - this being July 2, 2020 with covid-19 still a very real threat). It was the most uncomfortable vet visit either of us has ever had.

Excellent and very no nonsense vet who is highly capable and very reasonably priced. I initially found him when looking for reasonably priced dental for one of our cats. The cost was a fraction of the price quoted for any other vet. In the past year we have run 2 of our cats over for emergencies: both were swiftly and expertly treated and the cats are doing great. I am so happy to find a vet that I am able to call last minute and get such knowledgeable care, and I don't have to worry about being over charged for anything.

Excellent location for downtown pet owners and our pet has received very good care. Definitely in need of some technology upgrades in record keeping, web access, etc. Facility is a bit outdated.

Had hip x-ray done on my Samoyed. Professionally done. Got to see them and agree on which one to send to OFA. They took us early and honestly left 2 minutes before our original scheduled appointment. Very professional office and employees. McClellan Veterinary Clinic was a referral to me and I'll be giving referrals to others.

My 95 year old neighbor has a toy poodle that is blind and diabetic. This vet and his techs have been providing daily insulin shots for the dog. Recently my neighbor went into a nursing home. The vet came and personally picked up her dog. This separation of dog and owner was traumatic but we just learned that a vet tech, Desiree (so?) has welcomed the dog into her home. She even offered to bring him to visit the nursing home. This office has gone above and beyond for this animal. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This is my go-to vet for managing my dog's health. The wait times are usually low, prices reasonable, and quality of care very good! Importantly it's easily accessible in downtown Frederick.
