We did not have a happy ending, but, after having had time to really think about it we know they did everything they could to help our cat. If nothing else, they gave us/we bought an extra few days to spend as much time with Kharjo as we could before we had to say goodbye.

My cat ended up with a complete urinary blockage on Sunday morning of a holiday weekend. My local emergency vet was full and referred me to CARE. I was upset, to say the least. The staff and doctors were wonderful. My baby ended up having surgery and staying for three days. During the entire process the staff kept me informed of each step. They have been wonderful with their communication and in answering any questions I have. Due to COVID I was not able to go into the building but when the vet calls and asks "Is this Eli's Mom" I know they understand the importance my pet has in my life. Even during these incredibly busy times for veterinarian offices they staff was always wonderful, pleasant, and never made me feel rushed or unimportant. Keep up the great job!

Grateful they were open 24 hour. Not grateful that my cat was rushed through surgery, $10k later, and still ended up having to let him go because they rushed the process then said there was nothing else they could do except another surgery …

Very detailed and thorough with my dog’s examination. They were upfront about costs. We were seen quickly given the circumstances.

I owe my dog’s (Finn) life to CARE. He was in intensive care from mushroom toxicity. They saved his life!! They went above & beyond to do anything they could to help him recover and survive this terrible accident. Mary was absolutely incredible! She MANUALLY ventilated my dog for hours before he could be put on an actual ventilator. I could never thank her enough. So grateful I went to CARE so I still have my dog with me today :)

CARE was recommended by my vet for arthroscopic surgery. At our consultation this morning, we were taken in immediately and recieved excellent care by two technicians and Dr Austin. They were very tender and patient with my dog. Dr Austin carefully explained the different options for care, which she will send to me via email. I recieved an itemized proposal which the tech went over with me. I'm very pleased and will bring my dog again.

Brought my dog in for an internal medicine consult with Dr. McConnel. The doctor spent less than five minutes with me while I discussed my dog's symptoms. He did not seem to care about my dog's issues, did not ask any questions, and did not provide any additional information. The vet tech/nurse was more helpful than he was. They did blood work and I was told I would have results within a week. After a week, I had to call multiple times before I was able to speak with Dr. McConnel. He told me they lost her results for one of the tests (of course this was one of the more important tests I needed answers for). He did not apologize for losing the results but did offer to test again at no additional cost. I refused as I am now taking my dog to a much better specialist. Only giving one star because they did not fight me when I asked for a refund. They said they refunded my card but I have yet to see it so hopefully I do get it back. I also asked for an itemized list of the services I paid for and I have yet to see that either. Please take your pets somewhere else if you can.

I brought my dog here because he woke up and was unable to move his hind legs. Within 20min they were pressuring me to put him down saying he was in too much pain and saying his surgery would be 20k. They vet also said he failed DPS test. I took him for a second opinion safe to say my boy is here today surgery was 6k and they would of NEVER suggested putting him down. He also HAD DPS!! This vet was so uncompassionate even the vet tech we’re pressuring me to put my 3yo dog down. NEVER GO HERE! I wish I could give zero stars my experience here was TRAUMATIC to say the least!

I'm sorry I can't rate this any better. I came in yesterday with my beloved 12 year old dog scout. Unfortunately he passed away due to no fault of the hospital.. But when they asked me if I wanted to see my dog one last time and I said I did, they never came back to get me out of the lobby. They came back in the room an hour and a half later saying they ALREADY SHIPPED HIM to the crematorium. I just can't believe a miscommunication like that can occur and I'm very upset I didn't get to see him again to say goodbye.

The front desk was nice and clear but the people from the back didn’t even know what they were doing every questioned I asked they had to go ask the “doctor” what they could tell me and I never met the doctor which was unprofessional and they where more interested on me paying then them lookin and examine my dog well literally everything I told them about what was wrong with my dog they told me back the same thing and charged me 140 for the same information I had told them they didn’t do one of the tests but I still got charged for it ????????♂️????????♂️

Don't take your cat here unless you like being misdiadnosed and spending $1,200. This place is a joke.

My cat was attacked (I think by a stray cat) and had an injury on his leg. Our normal vet didn’t have any appointments available so we went to CARE. Everybody was so nice and we were in and out in less than 2 hours. My cat is on the mend with two staples, antibiotics and pain meds. I will definitely return if we need additional vet emergency care.

Wonderful service! Our Rosie had a hematoma on her ear; our regular vet had no appointments for 3 weeks! I took Rosie to Care, and they treated her promptly and kindly. I am so glad I went; Rosie is happy, too!

Care Veterinary Center is a very well run facility. Dr. Brenda Austin, DVM, MS Evaluated my 5 year old Labrador Retriever, Duke and confirmed my Vets diagnosis that he needed knee surgery. She answered all my questions and performed the TPLO surgery in a timely manner. Duke is progressing well 4 weeks post op. They are always available and answer all my questions and requests in a timely manner, and are very knowledgeable, and offer a wide range of services. Duke and I highly recommends this facility, Dr Austin and Staff. Katharine Fisher, and Duke

Our old dog was diagnosed with lung cancer. We realized it was time for him to go to the rainbow bridge. Unfortunately, this was on a Sunday so our vets office was closed. They said I could bring him right in. It's was around 11am and there was no one else there. They were very friendly and consoling. They asked us if we needed more time and left in it our hands for when we were ready. I really like that because I didn't feel rushed. They were very professional letting me know what they were doing at each step of the way. They gave me a complimentary paw print in plaster which honestly, meant so much to me. What a great gesture. I thought we were going to have to carry his lifeless body out in a blanket but they took care of that and placed him in a nice box for us and we were able to get him from the back door which gave us privacy. A few days later, they sent a sympathy card in the mail that everyone had signed. I'm thoroughly impressed with this place! I can see your typical vet doing stuff like this, but this is an emergency place and we had never been there before. I highly recommend coming here for your pet. Thank you all for the wonderful service. -Josh, Kaitlin and Comet.

Initial emergency vet care excellent. Follow up terrible. Staff very disorganized and quick to take your money up front ( very expensive) but terrible to follow up on results of expensive tests that are important for next step care of animal . Administrative side lacking compared to other Vetinary clinics. Would not recommend. Seem to be very understaffed and disorganized .

Last week we made the very difficult decision to help our furry family member cross the rainbow bridge. The customer service and the CARE that we received was second to none. I appreciate the gentleness and empathy that every employee that we came into contact with gave us and our dog!! Your team is amazing! <3

Care came recommended by my primary vet office after my dog ate the leg off of my sweatpants. They were concerned that the surgery might have complications that would be better handled in a place equipped and ready for them. It appeared that the fabric had moved through several parts of his digestive system. If it was a straight forward removal my primary vet would have done it. I was impressed that Care took the time to carefully evaluate the situation. My dog was stable so a day was given with IV fluids to see if it passed in its own. It did not. After more imaging a decision was made to proceed with surgery. I was kept informed of the progress, testing and decisions being made at all times. I was able to call in the middle of the night for updates. The surgery was successful and he was kept for observation until we were sure he was ready to come home. Yes it was an expensive surgery. However, a conservative approach was taken first. The staff at Care were compassionate and helpful. The doctor was knowledgeable and communicated every detail of what was happening. In an emergent situation I would definitely return to Care with my animals.

I want to thank all the staff at Care for the compassion and professionalism they showed me and my boyfriend on Sunday Sept 5. I had to take our 18 year old cat in-she was not doing well at all and from the moment we walked in they were kind, professional, and explained the options to us. They gave us time alone to make our decision on what was best for Phoebe. We unfortunately had to have her humanely euthanized but was very comforted by the care and compassion we received from all the staff. Thank you everyone for making that horrible day just a little better for us knowing Phoebe was loved and cared for. Sincerely , Marie MacLean and John Shreve

I took my dog there yesterday July 28, the receptionist told me there was a 2 hour wait which I understood that. After 5 1/2 hours I called down I was very polite on the phone, I asked the status of my dog I got talk to very rudely and yelled at by the receptionist about she was not a priority patient. I know she was a priority 3 patient and priority 1and 2 goes first but I did not deserve to get talk to like that on the phone. And for her information if she reads this I do know how a hospital emergency room is run. After 11 1/2 hours my dog sit in a cage, the night shift Dr Who just came on for the night saw her. She said that was ridiculous that they left her sit there that long with not being seen. She had a severe urinary track infection. I would like to think that Doctor Who took the time to see her but I will never use there facility again.

Took in my 2 yr old cat since the closest vet to me wasn't accepting new patients until later--and I needed my cat to be seen fairly quickly. All of the folks at CARE were super friendly and speedy. The tech and doctor I met were also very friendly and were thorough in asking what was ailing my cat so that appropriate tests could be made. I hope I won't have to visit the ER again, but if I do, I will visit CARE again for their great service.

Receptionist was awesome she cried with me!!! I was their July 29 th with my Rottweiler I had to drive an hour 45 min. Cause mountain view animal emergency in Hagerstown told me it would be at least 3 hours crucial pets first .she was barely breathing and they told me she was still Breathing!! ????i would be pushed to the next facility!! ???????????????? I got here and they did take me right away but she was barely breathing and very weak. So I LOST HER!!! How heartbreaking to our whole family ! Thank you for at least putting her at rest! My Angel!!

Don’t come here thinking you would get a deal for this emergency vet clinic in Maryland. It might be the cheapest, but the cost of delays and pet waiting in their building would add more cost to your bill. Even adding up greater than originally estimated compared to other emergency vet clinics.

They really treated my cat and us with dignity and respect. Unfortunately our cat, Buddy, was too sick to help but they helped us so much with making the right call for him. They handled all the details of his cremation and really made us feel as well as we could in the situation. I will always be grateful for them and their amazing bedside manner and really living up to their name of care.

Over priced and terrible care. We felt like all they wanted was to charge us as much as possible. Edit: since I can’t reply directly to the mangers reply below, I’ll respond here. I fully understand how the diagnosis process works. However, what really earned your 1 star review was after we told the vet we’re not going to be paying $4000+ to keep her on your oxygen cage for 3 days and would like to what our options were, she told us we should just euthanize our dog because clearly we don’t care. Please explain how that’s inline with your “number one priority” We immediately got her out of there and got her to our regular vet ASAP and guess what, she’s still alive and happy, six months after you told my husband to kill her.
