Camp Bow Wow - Frederick Frederick, Maryland

Our dog absolutely loves going to Camp Bow Wow!! He gets super excited as soon as he see the parking lot. The facility is super clean with great staff. I love how they interview the dogs for compatibility and aggressiveness. When I leave our dog, I do not have to worry about him especially because he is small breed.

PLEASE READ and heed my warning before you take your dog to this place, there is something wrong happening here and before your dog goes through the abuse ours did please read about our experience. Now I’ll be honest our dog can be a jerk, no question, he’s a herding breed and therefore likes to be a little bossy, HOWEVER, it’s also important to state that he has been a regular dog daycare attendee (not at camp bow wow) since he was 5 months old. His attendance has ranged from once a week to daily attendance based on my husbands work schedule. We were THRILLED when Camp Bow Wow opened a Frederick location and we were one of the first to sign our pup up since our daycare was far away in Ellicott city and quite a hike after our family moved. It started out great, our dog loved bow wow and would visibly get excited as we drove closer to it but over time that began to change. We noticed some anxiety in our dog as we would get closer and started getting calls that he was exhibiting “aggressive” behavior. We were confused and surprised but wanted to believe the owners. We would work with our dog at home but we noticed he was starting to change, our once friendly and personable pup was starting to be anxious, irritable and visibly distraught when we would take him to bow wow. During this time we ALSO had our dog going to his original daycare where none of these behaviors ever showed. The manager Erin would call us relentlessly saying our dog was biting other dogs and even staff members which seemed off considering our dog was spending considerable time cuddling our newborn at home and was happy except when we were driving him towards bow wow. Finally Erin said our dog was no longer welcome and honestly my only thought was that I felt bad for my dog, clearly there is something wrong happening at this camp bow wow location. Our dog still loves his other day care and they have never had a problem with him in the 5 + years he has attended. Do NOT take your dog to this camp bow wow location, while I don’t know what they did to our poor pup I do know I have serious regrets for taking him there. He’s not the same after attending their daycare and I would hate for your dog to go through the same ordeal. I regret not listening to my dog when my gut told me to. In response to the owner: The root of the problem is that our dog never had behavioral issues until he was repeatedly in the camp bow wow environment and has not had them since nor has he ever had problems at his other daycare. You do the math on that. Dogs are smart enough to know when they’re not being treated properly, but sure continue to dismiss the problems your facility has rather than fix them.

My dog has been to other camp bow wows but I think this one is new. Everyone was so sweet to him, and he definitely had a great time. We will be back!

We love bringing our goldendoodles Bella and Jax here, they always have a nice time at camp! We love the cleanliness of this environment compared to another local dog daycare we took them to before switching here. We also enjoy watching them on the cameras compared to having restricted camera access. Camp Bow Wow is the place to go!

Dude I love taking my dogs here! My 4 month old Great Dane is INSANE at home, but after this place she sleeps the whole night, I can watch her on the cameras and when I pull up to the function she goes absolutely bananas. My dogs love it here and deadass so do I. The staff knows my babies by name and I love it when they tell me stories about how they played and who their bestie was that day. Fr this place goes crazy I recommend.

Our pup loves Camp Bow Wow and so we do we. The staff is professional, patient, and caring. I feel extremely comfortable dropping him off each day knowing that he is well cared for and loved. The facilities are extremely clean and I love that I can book him in for a bath or nail trim while he is there for the day. Highly recommend this location to anyone in the area.

Staff is super friendly, helpful, and responsive. So patient with my baby boy! The facility is super clean and spacious enough for dogs to be comfortable and socialized at their own pace. Pricing is very reasonable and services are comprehensive. Having a place like this for dogs is so life changing for the better!!!!

We have taken our dog a few times for day camp and boarding, and she loves it! She gets so excited as soon as we get out of the car and she loves all of the staff. I really appreciate that the staff know my dog by name/sight after only a couple of days in attendance too.

The staff is always a pleasure to deal with. Everyone is so friendly and caring. I use the grooming service and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Marquax is an exceptional groomer who pays attention to detail and really cares about my pets. I trust her completely and feel comfortable leaving my pets with her. The facility is always very clean and the atmosohere in the lobby is very welcoming.

Our dog loves coming to Camp Bow Wow for day camp and boarding. Every time we drop him off we know he is in good care.

The live cams are just genius! Our girl loved her time there. The indoor play yards offer regulated temperatures allowing her to play for that much longer. The staff were very friendly

We needed boarding services for our upcoming wedding and for times when family cannot watch our dog. Our dog is super calm for a young dog and we were concerned about a dog “camp”. We went to our interview and I was very impressed with the staff and facilities. The owner saw that our pup was very sweet but a little nervous. She reassured us and said she would call us if he shows signs of stress while we left him for the required three hours. We left and watched him some on the 24/7 cameras on the app. He seemed to like it more as time went on. When we picked him up, the owner said she was pleased with the progress he made. Our dog came out with his tail wagging and very happy. We were so impressed that the owner wasn’t just going to let any dog come in. She is concerned about their well-being no matter what. We are going to put him in day camp a few times a month for socialization and then board him for our wedding in October. So far, we highly recommend!

The staff treated my pup like their own! They were very involved and attentive and loved their jobs.

Erin and her staff are fantastic! Our rescue guy Buster was a little shy with people at first but it didn’t take long before he ran into the building with excitement, running up to the staff and leaving my side easily. They always have fun activities happening as well so I always know he’s engaged when I drop him off. I highly recommend Frederick camp bow wow!

This place is the definition of unorganized. Proceed at your own risk. Follow Up/Update: Camp Bow Wow reached out and resolved the issue we were having. There was a miscommunication — on both ends — but after speaking with the owner we have resolved. I have increased my rating as I appreciate the personalized effort to correct the issue.
