We are considering a small pet for kids. The staff we met was exceptionally knowledgable and caring. We had a great experience there and could not recommend this place more.

Staff are knowledgeable, and ready to share what they know with a smile if you ask politely. The only issues come from corporate mgmt - staff can't track details of individual animals in stock, and the store layout and planograms seem unintuitive. But the people, A+. 4/5 ☆, would recommend.

Not much inventory, but the staff was helpful and I was able to get my two Julii Corydoras.

I have always had good experiences with petco. They treat me and my pup very well. I go on a monthly basis to get her nails trimmed and buffed.

Large selection, and the most pleasant young lady at the register. She was very busy and efficient, but still had time to help us with our selections.

100% best service I've ever received anywhere!! It's quite a long story to type, but I had an issue with an online order (Part of my order was canceled because two items were out of stock. This put me just below the $50 threshold and I thought it also made me ineligible for a gift card promotion.) and the GM went above and beyond to help me find a solution. She spent so much time just helping me make sure everything was right and was incredibly kind. I also greatly appreciate Petco's policy in situations like these (still issuing the gift card despite my order no longer qualifying). You've got my business for life!

The dog grooming is excellent! My temperamental Yorkie hates having her claws trimmed, so most groomers give up. Normally, I have to take her to the vet for nail trimming. Not this location! The groomer worked through her discontent to get her claws shorter and less sharp.

They are very well stocked and in an easy location. The dog treat aisle is incredible! They have a ton of choices, especially for heavy chewers, so it’s easily my pup’s favorite place. They do the Vetco clinic here—highly recommend! The appointment was easy to set online, relatively cheap, and the vet and her aide were very kind. They seemed patient with dogs that were either scared or easily excitable. And they worked hard to make sure I got the best price by finding rebates and explaining a care plan that worked for my pup but didn’t push extra things on me. I was very impressed!

Been shopping here for 20 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

We have been life long Petco people and this Petco did not disappoint. They have a good selection and the staff is great. Gray is the best groomer. Maggie loved her. I hope we find another groomer like her in Tulsa.

We have had great success with very helpful staff. We tend to shop at the Eldersberg Petco but had to stop off in Ellicott City. We are always happy with our experiences plus we get to see doggies at the stores! :)

The ordering process was easy and the pickup process was simple as well. I really appreciate the additional discount for curbside pickup.

visited the reptile section today and found some stuff really wrong. one baby bearded dragon had tail rot that wasn’t being tended to, and another had conjoined toes that looked infected. on top of that, both of the enclosures had feces in the water bowl that they were all climbing through and absorbing through they’re skin.

Allow me to preface that I rarely (or never - this would be my first time) post negative reviews. Being in a client focused industry as well, I fully understand how vital recommendations are for a business to survive and thrive. I wholeheartedly support small, locally owned businesses and would much rather rave about stellar service than complain about the lack thereof. But after my experience I feel obligated to warn others about this grooming salon. I took my 7 months old pup to the Petco on Rt. 40 for a grooming appointment. We usually frequent Columbia but they didn't have any appointments available for a few weeks. I wish I had waited. This has got to be one of the worst grooming jobs ever. Everything I requested NOT to do, the groomer did. They had to shave "some of his chest fur off" and cut off "some of his beard", but refused to do what I actually came in for. The shave job is nothing short of horrendous. There's no symmetry to it, there were patches of unshaven bits that I trimmed myself when I got home. The fur in all other areas was "brushed out" so he looks like a giant cotton ball. And his beard - so characteristic for a Goldendoodle - was completely messed up. I am embarrassed for him. There's definitely nothing "breed specific" as promised. I was told that he acted scared and "it will take some time getting used to". Yet when I approach him with scissors or clippers, he'll settle down just fine. It's not the grooming he's afraid of, but the groomer at this particular salon. I believe that my pup was traumatized in that store. Frankly, I am just shocked by how bad this grooming job turned out. I find it hard to believe that the groomer went through any kind of training. Unfortunately, I didn't not recover from my shock in store to voice my upset right there and then, but it was closing time and our groomer couldn't wait to get outside for a smoke. True story. I contacted customer service afterwards, and was promised a) resolution [a refund would be nice but will happily settle for quality control] and b) somebody would get back to me. It's been almost a month: I have yet to receive an apology or call back. My advice: don't go there. Please send any recommendations for a reputable groomer who knows how to groom Goldendoodles my way. I'd be happy to shout from this virtual rooftop about excellent service received. Thank you very much!

Did a great job with my pet and showed concern for his health. Even offered to give me an earlier time slot so there is less activity around him and he isn't has nervous. I appreciate that.

If you want to wait 4 hours since your dogs grooming appointment, get basically shamed for showing up to pick your dog up after not getting your call taken to see if they were ready, step in poop, and get shoved out the door, this petco is #1. The grooming staff is rude.

Avoid this store if your looking for anything associated with aquatics, birds or reptiles. The store is always messy, they seem to be restocking the shelves all the time and you have to walk around the employees, boxes of merchandise on the floor or step ladders.Their aquatic department looks like nobody takes care of the fish, reptiles or furry animals. The fish tanks are either empty, disgusting looking or have alot of dead fish floating around in the tanks. Save yourself time and aggrevation and go to the Petco store on Dobbin Road. Its much cleaner and the employees take pride in their store.

The salon caught on fire around 5pm 4/2/21 I’ll never take my dog there again And I called customer service and they agreed that was awful. Disappointed

They had what I wanted, and the curb-side service was great. Plus, I had 25% my purchase!
