Very caring, and friendly staff, clean facility. Knowledgeable vet who takes time with your pet. Staff follows up with phone calls. Very grateful they were able to take our kitty on a moment's notice during a holiday schedule. Vet was able to diagnose and treat quickly and accurately. Thank you!

We took our English bulldog for a well visit. By the time the Vet and tech were done, she almost died. My husband asked for her to be given an anxiety shot and was told to just take her to the car, she just wanted her family. Well once her tongue was hanging out and her eyes bulged, they hurried her to the back. Her temperature had went to 105 and they said she was turning blue and needed oxygen. During this time they kept saying technically we are closed, just go to the emergency Vet. For an emergency that they created!!!!! By the time our well visit was over we paid Governors 500 and the emergency Vet another 200. Oh and they gave my one bulldog a shot that was intended for the other. Worst Vet ever!!!

The worst vet ever they would not let my son in the place and charged me all this money and gave my cat a rabies shot and never examined him now I have to go spend more money for another vet they also said it was a urgent visit but I made the appt the day before. Run poor quality care!

We have gone to Governors Avenue Animal Hospital for as long as I can remember. We recently took our litter of eight puppies for their first deworming. Due to Covid restrictions, we were not allowed to go into the building with them. The puppies were taken in a couple at a time and quickly returned. We were positively shocked when they came out and told us what we owed. The bill was nearly $500.00! We were charged an office visit for every single puppy! When we said how disappointed we were, the girl said she would talk to the vet and have someone call us. We never heard anything. When we called the office a couple days later, we were told "well, if you brought in more than one dog, you'd be charged an office visit for each dog so the same applies to this". How disappointing.

Dr. Gennusa is the absolute best veterinarian that I have ever been to. And I have been a dog owner for over 20 yrs. She is incredibly knowledgeable, caring, understanding, thorough and very informative . She has been so amazing with our boxer Ella. She goes above and beyond to help her patients and puts their owner’s mind at ease. She always follows up to see how Ella is doing and gives great suggestions and advice to help us help Ella. I can’t thank her enough for everything she has done to help give us as much time as possible with Ella! If you’re looking for a vet who cares about your pet Dr. Gennusa is amazing.

I cannot imagine this being an easy place to work especially right now with COVID but they are always able to fit us in! We go to the base for normal stuff like shots but all of our services outside of that are with this vet.

This place is very unprofessional. All I want was to have a prescription written so I could pick it up. It took Three day to have this done. But I had to speak to the manager then it was given to me in 5 minutes. The employees that answered the phone very unprofessional. They did not return my calls. Did not tell me the truth. I would not recommend this place.

I took my 1 1/2 year old Doberman/lab mix in for a complete physical check up. They said everything was fine, charged me about 150 bucks, then sent me on my way. I went for a second opinion and found that my dog had two torn ACL’s. Wow. They also tried to pressure me into spending 1,000 on a tooth removal. The second vet told me I shouldn’t remove the tooth. This place is all about the money.

Very hospitable, caring, and professional. Would absolutely recommend! We had to bring our older cat in because she wasn't feeling well and wouldn't eat, and they did some tests and found multiple issues. It was decided that the best decision was to have her put to sleep. Dr. Gennusa and Pam, the veterinary assistant, were very professional throughout the whole visit yet also very hospitable, caring, and respectful. They were extra sympathetic and compassionate and definitely made the process easier for us. They really walked through the whole process with us. 5 stars!

I take my girl, Cali, here and she's never had a problem. I love how she's treated. They care so much about my one animal, almost as if she belongs to them. My girl doesn't like meeting new people but she's great with the staff!

Was in there for well over 30 minutes to have our dog put down! I insisted she stay on my lap because she has anxiety and the situation was bad enough. They insisted they had to take her from me to put in an IV in the backroom. They brought her back, put her down while I held her, then take her in the back again. They didn't have the right size box so we had to take her out of the huge box at home to bury her. Not cool.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Long story short, I spoke with the owner regarding a special set of circumstances that I needed accommodated. From the time she got on the phone with me her tone and demeanor was extremely unprofessional, lacked respect, understanding and care as well as behaved pompous. She talked down to me and belittled me as a dog owner. All while refusing to treat my dog in the same breath. My dog has had an ongoing issue that THEY missed during an exam. Her response for refusing was because, "she doesn't wanna treat my dog." That told me right there her bottom line and that she's willing to put her ego ahead of patient care. I suspected this place cares more about profit than a quality business. And this confirmed it. Refusing to treat an innocent animal and yelling at a loyal/paying client, is wrong on so many levels. It crosses so many moral and ethical lines. I wish I could have my dog seen by my vet out in SoCal. All the doctors there are accommodating, patient, kind and willing to see to reason and ALWAYS put the needs of the patient FIRST. I am disgusted that my impression of this place was definitely what I thought and will be reporting them to the better business bureau. They really should be ashamed of their behavior as well as embarrassed. If you wanna sustain your business and retain clients that PAY YOU, have some class and learn the definition of professionalism. Also, in the human world, refusing to treat a patient for no valid reason other than you seemingly don’t like their owner, is patient abandonment and should be held accountable. I just hope the next person the owner or any of your seemingly careless staff tries to “help,” you don’t cause a detrimental effect on their wellbeing.

While a majority of the vets and techs here are nice and caring, the staff at the front desk is typically very cold and unpleasant. It feels as if we are bothering them. I’ve been taking my Lab here for years and I am on the brink of finding a new vet due to the front desk staff making every visit extremely unpleasant.
